Oh dear... No offense, but I don't like the new logo at all. The freshness of the early days is gone. Thumbs down.

Matter of taste I guess, I like it better then the previous one... it's not the best but still better then before, bit more pro looking
Yeah, I think the logo is now much more legit looking as an actual currency symbol.

Somehow that logo makes it look like the smokestacks of a cartoon ship bending with speed.

Thats because the logo knows we are going to be zooming up the market charts Smiley

Hmm, can we adapt this symbol for use in general text (analogous to stories ς currency symbol for example)?

saw a couple of copy-paste coins from MINT, lol Grin

Yes, Ghostcoin is almost a straightforward copy of MINT, looks very stupid.
Another one ECCoin, I see at least some differences, still the same concept as MINT.

just hold and mint until this market works itself out. there are markets being developed for mint so it will be useful as a currency and that is really the whole point of this. If there is widespread adoption it will be worth it.

The worst thing you can do is sell for less than you paid. Don't do it.

Where are markets being developed for mint?

They do. Look at the first page under merchants. David probably hasn't seen his post yet.
No, I have a heavy schedule for the following days. Could you sum up what is being asked for?

This. Doesn't matter whether you have 100 Million or 100 thousand, be patient, check out the graph on Mintpal for the maximum length of time you can display there - notice how it goes up then slowly down, stabilizes, then shoots up again? Notice how each cycle has a slightly higher minimum? The trend overall is up, hold em, let the big holders dump - I'd rather 100 people hold 1 million coins each than 1 man holding 100 million coins. Bitcoin is doing so well because it has such a monumental distribution of coins - apart for a few exceptions there are very few people with hundreds or thousands of bitcoin - as long as Mint keeps being distributed it will continue to trend up in the long run.

While these dumps are a real pain in the arse, do remember that - ultimately the redistribution of coins will help the value of the coin increase over time.

Some dick sweat just dumped us back to 18 - and then within 5 seconds a 6.5 BTC sell wall at 20 was errected. What a crock this market is right now.

Stop playing the Mint market and trade other coins as Mint needs about 6+ months to get a real value. Let the heavy duty miners and farms sell their coins and get them into the market.

Really the only time to sell a coin is after such coin first hits an exchange as the price is always going to be higher than the price within a few days or weeks or months.

Well its a good sign on its own that the big players are showing some interest in MINT.

No it's not mate, they are dumping tens of millions at a time. That's not showing interest, that's throwing them on the ground, stamping on them, and then setting them alite.

Remember that the developers have a nice stack of about 700 mill ... Are they dumping may be ?

volume on mintpal is currently 61.92

that's pretty low so it doesn't seem like someone is dumping hundreds of millions of mint. It's the last of big hoardes from PoW mining that has to be worked through the system.

In several weeks when Mint is in single digits and remaining there, I would have already cashed out and moved on to the latest revolutionary alt coin preparing to dump that coin.
Another Nostradamus.

What about PoS and change addresses?
I hope you took care of that. I do not want to have my 20 days reset whenever I move a small sum out of my wallet.

Change: If I send, there are usually two target addresses involved. Only one of the two amounts is actually moved out of the wallet to the recipient, the other one is going straight back, into a change address in my wallet. So that 2nd sum has left the wallet yes, but only to end up in it again, within seconds. Imagine there is a 1 mio input from which I spend a 7 MINT output - that results in a second 999,993 MINT output, to my change address, so it ends up back in my wallet.

Still, I fear, the 20 days period is reset for both amounts, right?

As your wallet does not yet support "coin control", I cannot even know which of my existing coin piles are touched. With one tx of 10 MINT, I might destroy 20 days of PoS of 20 billion coins. Am I wrong? If not:

Please hardcode that if outgoing and incoming into change addresses happens, the coin age is preserved. Or it that is not consistent, then:

I suggest, that you (a) lower the 20 days, (b) implement coin control.

Implement coin control. Lowering the 20 days is  not a good idea as it is an important aspect of the coin design, security/sustainability.

So basically you want people to hord their mint coins, and not touch them for at least 20 days, to then collect some interest?

You want me to use another currency for my daily usage, and mint just for storing wealth?
I could only trust that concept, if the price of mint-to-other-currencies were not falling too much. But why wouldn't it fall? Apart from storing wealth, mint seems useless - because as soon as I move some of my coins, the 20 days are reset?

I don't see how all that could be a revolutionary new currency.

I want to be able to send and receive money, buy pizza, exchange for other currencies - and while I am not using my money, I want to collect interest for it - immediately- , and in PoS, use it for helping to secure the network.

minting is exactly analogous to mining

do you find this to be a problem with currency that is mined via PoW? If not then why is it a problem when coins are minted via PoS?

It's an advancement because it eliminates a lot of the energy waste associated with PoW mining

Damn it, trying to sell to pay rent, place at 21 sat, price drops, move to 20, price drops again, I really don't want to dump at 18 but it may come to that if the price doesn't stop dropping.
don't people thought the same a few weeks ago when it went from 8 to 4.

If I don't I won't have an apartment anymore within a week.
