Nice succinct and fair write up.
I think for a noobie to MUE that would be pretty useful.

You do not need an addnode with the updated wallet..
please confirm which version of the wallet are you using on which OS as well as the wallet download link

regards

I am using 1.0.10.8 version. Ubuntu 16.04.3 LTS.

that's the discontinued network.. we have long migrated to https://github.com/muecoin/MUECore,  which is the repo referenced in our ANN and website

Do it right or don't do it at all.
Are his coins just as safe as the coins that were lost in the fork when people did not claim them? Would be interested to find out how many coins were left unclaimed after the fork. How many people lost their coins and why was there no wallet left with all unclaimed coins.
I tried to speak to the Founder in a private message, but he was unwilling to provide answers and suggested we take this to the public forum.
1. How many coins were lost due to not being claimed?
2. Why were the unclaimed coins not kept in a wallet for everyone to see?
3. What was the reason for "burning" the coins other than to have less coins out there and thus have more value in the remaining coins?
4. Who made the decision not to allow valid claims for valid reasons on coins lost?

Sir, no matter what your circumstances were/are you are barking up the wrong tree..
To elaborate:
- "Are his coins just...." yes they are safe because they were swapped i.e. they are not discontinued MUE
- "How many people lost their coins and why was there..." not a single MUE coin holder that :
     a- cared for his investment
     b- used a reputable exchange
     has lost any coins
- the Founder suggested you go public because i think if you had a solid claim you would have made it in public to begin with.

To close this matter once and for all
You are not entitled to pass blame and/or assessment at any member of the team and/or this community, simply because you have failed on several levels, to list a couple basic ones:
i: protecting and securing your assets
ii: picking an exchange that has made Yobit look royal! by bouncing you at us

Your claim is with the incompetent exchange that failed to secure the interest of its traders, unless trading is still ongoing then i add "and continued to scam their traders" as such.

We have done all that can be done and much more; that chapter is closed; no more swaps; reminder of swap fund burnt; end of story.

I understand your frustration, but all coins that do a swap have a cut-off period. I think the MUE team did all they could by communicating here, in Slack, on Twitter, etc. Unlike other coin swaps, the swap ran for around 6 months, so plenty time for occasional users to make the swap. It was also well publicised before the swap happened. So, the time from announcement to close was at least 8 months!

As always, some ppl have been left behind. Surely anyone with an investment in an cryptocurrency or any stock/asset should be checking on their investment once in a while? Not longer than 8 months!

C.
We really did go above & beyond any other crypto project that I'm aware of to publicise and extend the swap as best as we possibly could.
As far as I'm concerned, the swap is something that happened in the past and is now irrelevant to the future.

Hello MonetaryUnit community ---

MonetaryUnit is available for atomic swap trading on Komodo Platform's decentralized exchange, BarterDEX! Right NOW, peer2peer, on Mainnet with live orderbooks. Anyone can test it out if you'd like. We are taking privacy to new heights by keeping your funds and privkeys in YOUR HANDS! zK-SNARK coin Jumblr in YOUR HANDS! Liquidity of each coin is still building, but BarterDEX can pair your coin with any other of the 80+ coins on the exchange. If a team member, perhaps someone from marketing, would like to test out an atomic swap through our GUI, please send me a DM : ) We have a team availabe for walking leaders of featured coins through the Komodo ecosystem to teach you how your community can benefit from BarterDEX!

This is truly a community project - the keys are now in your hands! YOU can be a marketmaker for your coin, making it available to BarterDEX users around the globe 24/7. YOU can create an SPV electrum server, allowing BarterDEX users to manage and trade your coin without downloading the entire blockchain. We would be happy to assist you with setting these up. It would be nice to have your coin paired with KMD - then we could introduce it to the community as having liquidity in BarterDEX!

Welcome to the BarterDEX decentralized exchange!

Trade freely and safely,
Jay
