I just wanted to post this tweet from David here, as I think it's absolutely brilliant:

David Seaman
@BrianKellyBK Bitcoin has MIT. Why not give some Yale or Harvard freshmen a certain # of NAUTs? Or, more egalitarian, any college student

Imagine if everyone in a computerscience\business\etc class was given 1000 Naut. First of all it would be a nice little PR move, secondly it would get several of them interested in working to build the Naut infrastructure, and thirdly it would just be a very nice thing to do Smiley Maybe this could be our next community project?

This is just my personal opinion, but i think we should find the best working pOs code that ALREADY exists (blackcoin?)  and straight up copy their code.   Then, get weiner, yapp, and the devs to comb through the code, clean it up, check for bugs, and add improvements.
It's a little more complicated than that unfortunately Sad Since we're on a PoW chain we need to transfer everything over to a PoS chain, and I suspect that is what's so complicated.

There is probably a point when we would just be better off starting a new chain. We could take a snapshot of the current wallets and just give people an equivalent amount on a new chain. We could also fork something with more features such as BC etc. The reason I say this is I am starting to have doubts that this dev will deliver. In two days we are a week after their 2nd estimated completion date. I have worked with devs and coin devs I understand that it takes longer than expected. But what is their reason? The reason seems to be they don't know how to do it.

Quick PoS update -

I am told it is complete, but I was too busy yesterday to check it out.  I will look today and hopefully get it set for beta testing.  Since the fight is only 2 days away, its probably best to wait until next week to implement.

The steps as I see them:
1.) Beta test PoS - we will need help with this
2.) Pick a block to implement
3.) Implement multi-pool

-BK

I think this is why everyone is getting a little impatient on the PoS transition and with good reason.  I'm fine with taking your time to get the transition correct, but these updates led people to believe the PoS was complete and now over 2 weeks later it still isn't complete and no testing has begun.

Can someone explain what the heck is going on here? I sent a withdrawal from mintpal to bittrex and this thing hasn't gone through in 8 hours!!!!!!!

http://nautinsight.buddylabsapps.com/tx/63581b80e884f43d3a0e17f6a4fa904691b944eac5c54b8c318854048ee69baf

Is this happening for everyone? Does it have something to do with this POS fiasco?

Yes it happens to everyone, and no this has nothing to do with the POS "fiasco", in fact the POS "fiasco" is going to solve the problem

Just give it more time.

Official DigiByte Account

This thread has no dev input which is not normal. We need a go between or an active dev to set people minds at rest.

Things that really matter take time in this industry. BK is a good man and he has every intention of seeing this through. We helped start NAUT, we have been working on our own multi-algo fork but we know things are being worked on for NAUTI, and all of this takes some testing as we are sure they are doing their best with POS. If all else fails we will be here to support NAUT.

Of all other alt coins we believe in this one. Things are being taken care of with BKs resources. Rome was not built in a day. If you want to learn how to program, go to lynda.com, they have a wonderful crash course in a lot of languages for $20 per month and you can learn some coding.

More importantly write the NY regulators about your concerns with their proposed regulations. Yes, we need regulation to move forward, but not like they propose. Right now you have the chance to be much more active than just supporting one coin.... support all of us.

We stand together.... or hang separately.

hey guys david getting upset about naut not doing pos on time, https://twitter.com/d_seaman/status/490864250164752384 and few more tweets before that one, i have to say i agree with some of his points, i left naut cause of inflation and came back thinking it would be handled as promised but weeks keep passing and nothing changed but price (going down), coins transition all the time starting new chain and swapping coins for new ones, why not do that if possible?

I think he's right about the dev. I expected beta testing to start this weekend at the latest.

i expected it before fight which was 2-3 weeks ago
I think we all did to be honest, and that included BK. My guess is that David is upset because he's promoting Naut quite a lot, and people are bashing him when things like this happens. I can totally understand that he feels the need to say something about it.

I wish we got an update on exactly what is taking so long. Maybe there's something the community could do to help? Also, maybe Julian would be interested in taking a more active part in the development? He seems very knowledgeable, and delivered both the Mac wallet and the blockchain in time.

Regardless I'm holding my Naut for a long time Smiley It's just a little frustrating not knowing exactly what's going on.

We could do with a project manager. People want constant updates and Brian is too busy for that.
Fantastic idea!

You gotta love talking heads. "He doesn't give them a pass". Well good for him.

It's better they get the PoS and the fork right than fast. I also expect if BK thought it would take this long he would have had the digibyte devs fix the bug so the block times would be resolved.

where is all the naut hashrate at?  2.7gh network hashrate and looking at the pools listed on the 1st page i cant find more than a couple hundred mh.  I want to throw a scrypt asic on naut. what is the best pool right now?

It seems to me it could just be private hashers pointing at it for now or multipools.

Is this suitable for a NAUT multipool? http://multipoolmining.com/
It would certainly work, but I think that we should have our own, sort of like Blackcoin has this (I know it's been posted a million times before, but it's really cool) http://blackcoinpool.com/dashboard It looks more professional, and we'd be able to tailor it to Naut a lot more.

Agreed, I posted it earlier as a suggestion until we get our own multipool sorted. BK said he wanted more than one.
Oh, as a first step I think it's tremendous Smiley
