4400 btc are good for 4/5 people to live the rest of their lives in luxury.
I guess 90% of people would do it.

And that is if they don't get caught.

The risks severely outweigh simply continuing business as usual and further growing it.

Also forgot to mention that laundering that money in the first place is a task of its own.

Official press release regarding the NiceHash security breach

Unfortunately, there has been a security breach involving NiceHash website. We are currently investigating the nature of the incident and, as a result, we are stopping all operations for the next 24 hours.

Importantly, our payment system was compromised and the contents of the NiceHash Bitcoin wallet have been stolen. We are working to verify the precise number of BTC taken.

Clearly, this is a matter of deep concern and we are working hard to rectify the matter in the coming days. In addition to undertaking our own investigation, the incident has been reported to the relevant authorities and law enforcement and we are co-operating with them as a matter of urgency.

We are fully committed to restoring the NiceHash service with the highest security measures at the earliest opportunity.

We would not exist without our devoted buyers and miners all around the globe. We understand that you will have a lot of questions, and we ask for patience and understanding while we investigate the causes and find the appropriate solutions for the future of the service. We will endeavour to update you at regular intervals.

While the full scope of what happened is not yet known, we recommend, as a precaution, that you change your online passwords.

We are truly sorry for any inconvenience that this may have caused and are committing every resource towards solving this issue as soon as possible.

Best strategy for exit, I lost BTC1.4

Best and Traditional strategy for exit scamming that beginning by:

Oh folks someone hacked us and all BTC gone.
We are so sorry ....
A old story that we will see at Bittrex and Poloniex and Yobit very soon.

I am sorry man. you lost much. you shouldn't leave your BTC in a online wallet.

The claims that maintenance was ongoing as a result of the downtime is a bit strange.

But honestly, in this market, exit scams are not worth it. It's best to just continue with your operations as more users come in and generate even more revenue.

why is bitcoin going up especially after a big event like nicehash hack. Last year, news like this would have been a 30% drop!

Because people have realized that it has become so frequent that it is something normal and they are focused on the events of December 10 ( CBOE will be launching their futures market this coming Sunday, December 10 ) and December 18 ( CME Group following on December 18 )

It's strange that I'm not seeing all the news channels talk a lot about this event "  NiceHash hacked! "

NiceHash isn't primarily Bitcoin. It's a small service built mostly on altcoins but used Bitcoin. Plus, I'd be surprised if many were even aware of it given most of the focus is on the BTC market, and nothing else.

I miss when crypto was about decentralisation.
Glad I withdrew yesterday. Looks like Prohashing is now who we turn to for the best profits.

Don't know about you guys but I'll be withdrawing daily.

Unfortunately, ProHashing only supports scrypt and x11.

It now has the potential to be even larger, if it does adapt to new algos.

4700 BTC, that is almost more than 67 million dollars. This will be a big hit to Nicehash and mining community in general, people favoed NiceHash due to it being easy to start with but after this, I have no clue, if someone wants to create NiceHash-like website, I think you can count me in.

if someone does you can count me OUT Cheesy
tho i have to admit they helped newbies get into mining, it killed it for the actual miners :/
profits have dropped, new coins get doggypiled if nicehash algo, having no chance off the bat (roicoin for example)
Profits have never been as good as since they went down for the rest of us
now maybe those 200 pop-up "GPU MINING" pages on facebook can stop spamming how they bought a buncha equipment to mine nicehash and dont know how to use it Cheesy

"You don't control the keys, you don't control the coins"  -Satoshi Nakamoto

And anyone using them, well, Nicehash had the keys....      Sad   Sad   Sad
i gave up on them months ago there after they admitted their 2FA wouldnt save an attacker from emptying your wallet thru orders (they changed it since but i realized who they were that day)

Anyone that kept BTC in a nicehash wallet lost ALL of their BCH and BTG to nicehash after the hardforks. Nicehash didn’t blame the BCH and BTG on maintenance or a hack, they kept it for themselves. If that didn’t raise any red flags, the emptying of ALL nicehash wallets of BTC should be the triple whammy wake up call. Hope I’m wrong and Nicehash returns BTC, BCH, and & BTG to the original and rightful owners, but my gut tells me they will returning nothing earned nor bought to any nicehash users after last night's maintenance.

Its your fault to keep your btc in Nicehash before fork if you hope to earn BCH or BTG, its not their responbility to honor that. They not coin exchanger.
BUT... if you lost your btc than its ABSOLUTELY nicehash fault, whatever the reason is.
