can I buy coins on Yobit or Nova? It says "old chain"

so from what I have read POS 3.0 is more lenient towards giving stakes to people with smaller balances, is this true?
In theory this is the main advantage of POS v3.0

Sorry to be an idiot, but how do people get to make money off any coin in general, i dont think i understand why people get to get rewarded of this?
Is it just because of running a full wallet on a pc and also that when you mine you are in turn validating/verifying transactions , is that it.
Also , is it possible hat u get guys that are snakes that run these pools where they can easily just steal a few of your hashes or rewards ?
I know about the donation fees, but i have always wondered further than that ?
