You can do something about the lag?
Maybe they are due to the fact that the game at the same time 50+ people on the server?
Or the more memory it needs a new test system 2?

In any case, do not lag the collection of the new players.

now i have error message 'Unable to repair ship: Price mismatch' in sector 1 Sad
but in sector 2 it is work Smiley


Also seeing this one now. The cost for repair listed was very low compared to usual also.

Curious about when Dogecoins might be viable to withdraw again? I made a bunch not realizing that the withdraw is bugged, not sure if I should hang onto them or just sell them.

Also my captcha is down to 7 CPU.

I own some sector 2 suggestion too but maybe I simply dont know how it works or maybe my browser is simply not good enough

- I had some cargo issue, I mean I am unable to move cargo to another ship (drag & drop or any button), now seems solved but it cause "unknown error" even if it works
- I would suggest when you double click on a ship on the hangar you will automatically switch to it without clicking "Switch" button

I have a few game suggestion and one notice.

Ive noticed that during the weekly double speed its 3 times more difficult to take down planets. Firstly you have half the damage. Secondly shield recharge twice or even faster. That would be 4 times harder, but you have halved cooldown that you cant fully use to overcome  the drawbacks mentioned earlier. You should really look that shield recharge because 300 hp in a 5 minutes recharge or so is little bit too much. I thought its should be 80 in 10 minutes at 100 percent soldiers.

For the game suggestion. Ive heard some players would want to share their in game notes with the squad or import them to the files. I had some other suggestion but I need to remember them. Lol.

Oh damn, that's what we were afraid of :) I'm skipping most of the stuff you mentioned (added everything to the list, thank you),
 but I need some extra data regarding those points:


Planets show their growth population. Useful.

I think they always did on one of those tabs.

Total scientists not counted.

This is a UI quirk. You should first visit the uplink tab, it will then download the necessary data. If it STILL doesn't work, then, yeah, something is wrong.

Can not repair ship: Malformed price parameter.

This happens at the wharf, I assume?

Why I move around sector? It help me evade rockets? Checked: no.

For now you can treat your ship like a camera anchor and/or to help you organize things on screen (like moving closer to some planet to quickly land on it), but in the future this might become something else entirely...

Tab key not working so hard to buy 80 ore qiuckly:)

I guess I'm not familiar with that convention? How were you using the tab key (other than to focus on a particular element)? Or is that it?

How to manage multiple cargo slots? Unload all colonists and sell all goods!

Minimize your cargo/warehouse and you'll see a "cargo summary" view. Those little icons represent full stacks of your items and can be dragged out!

Can you make possible jump through map using all engines in one click?

Crafting need same amount of resources then would be easy press button with desired number? [Select what you want and press Number! Use Hotkeys!] Highlited and grayed?

Same, not sure what you mean. Also, yeah, we'll run a survey later and add all the needed hotkey players come up with.


Also, in that video of yours you don't have any jump animations :( Is that still happening for you, could you please try a refresh?
And cool video, BTW, if you could make something similar (that we could use as promo materials), that would be much appreciated.

Absolutely! But please try to keep it to the interface itself, without going deeper into rebalancing and revamping the whole game :)

About SG2. I like it, but can't find the way how to load/unload cargo. I think same is with equipment too.

All cargo operations are done via drag-and-drop. There are very little hints, but the following should work:

1. Drag from cargo to eq to mount.
2. From equipment to unmount.
3. To planet window to unload.
4. To station window to sell.
5. Market/Offers tab to place offer.
6. Market/Storage to place into storage.

I'm probably forgetting some others.



If you guys have been writing down the bugs, now is the good time to see if they still exist and maybe report them.

On the other hand, this can wait a few days, just have fun :)

UPDATE!

We're very happy to publicly announce the new game interface, called (for the lack of better name, egh) "Sector 2".

[TODO: Put a screenshot here. Can someone give me one, please?]

This is a massive, and overwhelming update, so I'll try to address the most important points, and please do ask questions, as I'm certainly missing something.

1. The game has not changed. At all. Like not even a tiny bit. (But more on that later*)
2. This is just a new view into the same world.
3. Everything you learned, know and own is still there.

4. The "classic UI" will continue to receive updates, work and love, probably 20-30% of it will be further AJAX'ified. (But more on that later*)
5. The "classic UI" is still the go-to solution for mobile users.
6. The new UI will probably NEVER be good on mobile, due to it relying A LOT on desktop (and PC games) metaphors .

7. We do want to spend manhours working on "useless" features such as nicer effects, wider range of animations, more interesting space backgrounds, etc. If you think it's a complete waste of time and we have betrayed our text-based roots, then you will not be happy with some of the updates.
8. The BUGS/TODO list has not gone anywhere, it's as big as always, and we'll continue to chug through it at our usual pace.
9. I'll be marking updates related to new UI with [SG2] tag in my posts.

10. The server is as laggy, as never-in-sync and everything-happens-in-wrong-order as ever. You will still experience weird errors
and problems. Maybe someday we will re-write the server, but don't expect it until 2020.



OK, hopefully that answers the most important questions.

* And, yes. Adding a second dimension gave us new toys to play with, especially in PvP/PvE area; we really really really want to make this portion of the game more exciting, make combat more dynamic, etc.

And having to support old UI in that area is going to slow us down, considerably. So, at some point, you may expect PvP/PvE portion to get skewed in favor of SG2 players, leaving classic UI users at a disadvantage.

Hmm, that's a sad note to end the post.

just noticed a bug in the marketplace.  if i fill someone's order, my trading skill doesn't increase at all.
same thing happens to me , i dont know what to do , an administrator should fix this

Nice to see the instantaneous-one-shot-rocket-pirates have been dealt with.  Got hit by two of them for 0 damage today.

Ugh, that must be the "other side" of that same bug. Also, I asked, and it wasn't intentional. Guys, please kill those pirates already :)

Yes, the AJAX'ification of the classic interface is never going to be perfect :( Things that will likely never properly sync:
- CPU points
- Your satoshi balance
- Some of the cooldowns

It just wasn't build with AJAX in mind at all, which makes it really hard to convert into an auto-updating one. And although it wouldn't technically work without javascript, it wasn't built with much javascript in mind either :( There just ain't enough of a "framework" or an "engine" thing going on... The devs have told me many times it would be easier to re-write it from scratch, than to properly fix.
