Sia will have a positive news from 2 days: "The next release is targeting May 16th, 2019."
I think that issue will support so dumped price.

I wonder, are there any reasons to still keep Siacoin and not throw it out ?
I am really close to the decision no longer to follow SIA developement.

Meanwhile, you have ASIC's driving up the difficulty too big levels and sia-tech more interested in equipment sales..so it all looks way out of wack to me and overblown

in those areas and miserly in the actual adoption and such on their supposed storage solution.

SIA is going to zero the circle/poloniex chumps behind this charade take your hashpower then dump sia and convert to btc ... easy Wink lol  >_> this one is over sorry i tried.

I have seriously considered to buy Obelisk, luckily I   did not decide for purchase Cheesy

Humm.. I can see new article at SIA blog: https://blog.sia.tech/sia-community-update-april-2019-f683812b4245

Yep. Still can't get the wallet to install with seed input. They still don't have a 'real' supported 'paperwallet' ...and the storage makes no sense

for purchase and payback unless you already have the investment in a large data farm are just messing around with sia-storage...after the fact

your equipment is paid for anyway.  Obelisk and Sia-Tech still owe me  $900 promised in the 'compenstation' that I was supposed to get paid for. This was 'latest' the end

of January 2019. Deafening Silence.

That also seems unlikely to me in that I suspect they wanted to pay off such compensation with profits from batch 6 miners (ha!)

The way you do this is you 'ship' all the equipment (worthless or not) so the SEC can't get you. Then you declare bankruptcy and walk.

I suspect they will pull a Butterfly Labs Stunt and ship all the equipment (late) and declare bankruptcy within the year and fold.

From the above, looks like BFL, paycoin, GAW, and others who have promised much and then bailed.

Not encouraged, but same song the last year. I mean you can't get a wallet to install and can't get a 'real' supported paper wallet, you are not trying

very hard, regardless of the somewhat other iffy stuff above. Amature hour IMHO.

Do you really think SIA has any chance with big cryptocurrency market players as EOS, Dash and many more which are going to implement wide range of hosting services?
I am afraid will be extremally high for SIA to survive, but maybe I am wrong, or maybe there is a market niche when SIA still could have its chance?

My issue is the storage option...I don't see the adoption and/or a method for small fry to build anything that can compete. If the storage solution by sia-tech is

simply to get 'big data halls' to use the network...again not seeing it.

No one ever got fired from IT from using Amazon Cloud...one look at the current sia-tech solution would get your ass handed to you and out the door on a review.

So it is not there yet. (data halls or big institutions using the storage framework) and no push of cheerleaders (IMHO) of small home-based setups as impractical.

Meanwhile, you have ASIC's driving up the difficulty too big levels and sia-tech more interested in equipment sales..so it all looks way out of wack to me and overblown

in those areas and miserly in the actual adoption and such on their supposed storage solution.

Seems to me the gap between the 3rd leg on this stool is too deep to be overcome at this point....price of sia coin will dive...no network  to support these tokens

to be used on a storage network that is not really there (large enough) and complete and decentralized yet.

This looks a lot like ButterFly Labs Scam. You promote a lot, get the equip out the door to protect you against SEC and use corporate bankruptcy if it all goes 'poof'

as your fall back postioin....keeping accumulated profits/crypto/BTC from the entire enterprise (mostly equip) up to the point the balloon pops.

Again, the storage solution is why I got into sia-coin and it looks to me 2 years behind everything else with all the emphasis on hash rate difficulty rise and the sale

of equipment.

Enlighten me if I am in error, but just don't see it. Use small words..I'm stressed Sad

Is there any concerns that the network dropped 143 hosts in the last month?

Hello everyone. Hope you are all well.  Just wanted to share this cool Sia use case for the Blocknet XRouter :
The worlds 1st Blockchain router - Developers can mix, match & monetize ANY blockchain -

Read more here: https://www.ccn.com/introducing-xrouter-developers-can-now-mix-and-match-any-blockchain-via-the-worlds-first-blockchain-router

and here:

https://bitcoinist.com/blocknet-releases-xrouter-the-internet-of-blockchains-expands/

And our ANN: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/ann-worlds-1st-blockchain-router-xrouter-mix-match-monetize-any-blockchain-5135134

Interesting idea. I will take a look at it in few days.
However I don't have so much hope put on SIA as it would be hard to win against big competitors as f.e. EOS which will implement similar solution for sure soon Sad

Did you know that SiaClassic a hard fork of Sia is listed on BigOne Exchange under the ticker SCA? https://big.one/trade/SCA-BTC

the link is not working, please check it

"Page not found"

I've tried to search on the page for SCA, there is no trading pair

That's because SCA was delisted from BigOne: https://bigone.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/360018841014-Announcement-on-Delisting-of-37-Trading-Pairs

Yes I think SIA will succeed for the following reasons:

  • The team is working their ass off, with many updates over the past year, and they write solid code.
  • https://goobox.io/ is a cloud service already using SIA (https://pixeldrain.com/ and https://sia-cloud.tech/ as well). Many average customers will not use SIA directly but a user friendly service like these cloud providers
  • Remember that SIA will provide private, decentralized, redundant backups at about 1/10 the cost of the big cloud providers (which are not private)
  • Sia inflation rate is dropping like a rock. By July 2020 it should be under 3.6% from ~23% now
