Can someone show me a chart showing the issuance of Sia over time?  How many exist now and how many will exist after the initial issue?  And you appear to have a perpetual block reward?  That is smart.

Impromptu prepared block reward and net coin supply charts here: http://imgur.com/a/OocoU

Correct, perpetual block reward: 30,000 Siacoins after block 270,000.

Added in edit:
So a motivated miner could conceivably mine for their own permanent storage on the network at any given time?

Correct. The other way to acquire Siacoins, besides mining or buying, is to rent out storage space: you set your own price minus a 3.9% tax that goes to Siafund holders (10,000 Siafunds issued; devs/founders possess about 9,000 of those, and ~1,000 were distributed in a crowd-sale to fund initial development).

The block reward started at 300k with the first block and is (300k-height, it drops by 1 coin every new block) until block 270,000 when it then levels off at 30k for eternity.

Here's an old spreadsheet of block rewards to a graph, it's a little slow in the browser though. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/15-SZfDFbw1N3sXtlBVOwm015GYtM3aqdJbSsPZWmY0w/edit?usp=sharing

So according to that, in July 2020 there will be approximately 45 billion Sia in 'circulation'?  Just curious how much one would have to own to have a significant stake in the Sia network.  Thank you for the very informative spreadsheet.

You've got my attention Sia, and that's not easy to do.  I'll be keeping an eye on you.  (Of course, Vanillacoin caught my eye at one point too so don't get too flattered - I'm secretly an idiot)

What's your take on VNL?

It's a scam with a provably corrupt distribution and a laughably jumbled zombie-rex codebase, stolen from other projects.

Stay away and don't even waste your precious time looking into it.

On the other hand, I'm hoping Sia will prove to be the exact opposite of that, but I'm hard to convince.  Still, I want to give it a fair shake and appraisal.  Thanks belong to one of your mods for visiting /r/monero (the home of our privacy-centric currency) and spending a few minutes pitching it to us: https://www.reddit.com/r/Monero/comments/45u6gs/what_other_cryptoprojects_should_we_be_taking/d00cczl

I only became aware of VNL 1 or 2 days ago- is there anything special about it?
The name at least makes it sound like one of many silly shitcoins.

What's your take on VNL?

Anyone here mining Sia, as soon as i Start the Plugin it says first

-The miner has start with intansity ***

2 seconds later

-The GPU miner has stopped

Can get it fixed any help will be appreciated Cheesy thx

Not very informative. Did you try running the miner from the command line? The CLI might give you some error message. Post those here.

I dont have a command line in the wallet , not like a old wallet were you have the console.

also the miner i have is the inbuild plugin and you only have a start button there, if i do use the button i just see a popup started and straight after it pop up miner stopped.

If i download the other miner, not the wallet plugin it says i miss the MSVCR120.DLL  , probably that microsoft i needed to download what i did + installed.

Are you running sia-gui-miner or using the gominer? You should be able to run either of these from the command line. Just open command prompt and navigate to the folder where the miner EXE is located. Type sia-gui-miner --help to see options, and run accordingly.

I am pleasantly surprised to see Sia still holding its value. Shows there is a strong renewed interest. Still under valued though  Grin

Anyone could tell me how much coins are producing SIA each day?

At present, about 38 million. There are 144 blocks/day. The block reward is 300,000 minus the blockheight.

yeah so my wallet blockchain has synch'ed- took about 12 hrs or so.

I have a wallet password and a bunch of addresse in the wallet- is there a 'dumpprivkey' as in bitcoin where I can store it independently of the wallet file?
Or do I have to preserve the wallet file?

In principle, all you should need is the passphrase and seed, but there are currently no tools for recovering your wallet with those bits of info.

So, backup your wallet.json, your seed and passphrase (which, for now, are the same).

When you say export to 0.5.1 do you mean click the "Import Legacy Wallet" button from in the 0.5.1 UI?

It's not explained the most clearly so this has led to some confusion and I have not done this myself. rather I'm only stating it from memory after seeing it in Slack...

1) Firstly backup everything.
2) If you haven't already initialize a new wallet in the 0.5.1 UI, it will give you a password/seed
2.5) Backup the new wallet/password/seed
3) Click Import Legacy Wallet, from 0.5.1 and select the old wallet file
4) Enter the password from step 2
5) Close and re open the UI
6) Profit???
1. +
2. +
2.5. +
3. + - from 0.3.3.3
4. - The password is not requested, balance = 0
5. +
6. Balance = 0

So, I can forget about your coins?
There's plenty of people who have this working fine, you're doing something wrong and not putting much effort into these replies to fix it other than apparently trying to trash the coin. If you are serious about this join Slack where someone will walk you through it step by step.

Like in step 3, what do you mean "+ - from 0.3.3.3"? How does that help us help you?
I spent a few hours experimenting with this wallet shitcoin. And this hand-made article still trust their data?
Step 3 I've been doing in your wallet 0.5.1.
In the wallet 0.3.3.3 there is no such menu: "Import Legacy Wallet"

I recommend you seek help on the Slack channel, or the official Forum as suggested by the other replier. People will assist you faster there.

We all want to help, and your problem is solveable.
