A doubt, if I have used and have some files on the SIA platform some time ago, for example in early 2016, downloading the wallet I can recovering the files?

I believe that in the future Sia will turn into a decentralized network of small data centers that together will be the fastest, cheapest and most secure cloud storage platform in the world.

boils down to censorship resistance ! places like Iran where the govt is oppressive to any form of free speech ...this is where this tech is important ?    hmmm ~ profits or people?

As to my FREE obelisk decred miner, (I got for the 1/2 off above coupons on the above obelisk sc-1 doorstops and swapped for a free decred unit...soon also to be a doorstop) even that looks damn unlikely to be worth

taking out of the box and/or turning on come the end of August 2018  of later.

Current decred miner 1.2TH at 500 watts, if I had the unit today makes $0.12c usd per day!

Even if the above held for the decred miner...bigger and more powerful decred miners are already out..not to mention the below unit dropping/shipping in the middle of August at 7 TH.

this miner can do both ..either blake2b or decred ..your choice

6 th version already shipped. the 7TH version is $3,800 usd and comes for decred or blake2b at that price...it ships middle of August 2018. Still selling them if you are crazy.

So, again, I have a hard time seeing how siacoin network can survive with their vision. Even the above units are not making diddly at this point in time.  On either decred or blake2b.

Hard to run a siacoin network of their vision if you blow out all the GPU's and can't pay for electric (or much more $$ than the electric/and cost of the ibelink units) it is a chump's game now.

Sia is a project where the usage of blockchain really makes sense and enriches the product.
I mined a few 1000 of them back when ASICS didn't exist and now i am hodling and will see what happens.

people are leaving this coin now! but I hope evelopers of Sia project have big, potential vision, which can change data storage industry forever project.

Now a lot of companies have appeared with their data warehouse! The society needs such companies! the world is constantly changing from a paper medium to an electronic one! the project involves a very professional team with its own view of the market! I think that the project is waiting for success! I wish good luck to this project!

Since the price has fallen significantly in the falling market, perhaps someone can advise on what price you can buy Sia coins. I'm already too confused where to buy, I don't even know.

Sia is a relatively excellent project in the field of distributed storage. The current encrypted currency market is in a bear market, and the price of Sia has fallen a lot, but the future development is still worth looking forward to.

When I see Poloniex i get reminded my "lost" transactions & also threatened to ban my account for using them as a wallet.. main issue with Poloniex is several SIA wallet problems/unavailability and sketchy customer service. Basically I am still waiting for my coins to appear 2 months later - very disappointing - my mining sia is not even paying for electricity....
don't use Poloniex - you ll get burnt like i did

It turns out we will have delay in a market growth, so you should take into account you may be freezing your funds investing in such projects.

Tell me how long you have been working on the exchange Poloniex and how difficult it is now working withdrawal? I heard they have a very long time problems with the withdrawal of coins, now of course for a long time do not follow the Affairs of the exchange.

I remember being so excited when i first bought them, now my bag is slowly rotting away at less than half of what i paid. Maybe its a longterm deal but i fear it might not recover

Weekly update contains lot of material which everyone who is long on this should be aware of. Update on moving to Gitlab and its advantages and fixes of so many bugs for previous week. One  thing which was long demanded a hardware support which seems to be brought earlier as testing. It is called best usage of downtime for development to bring great features up.

the catch is I can make more siacoin by just taking the $$$ I'd pay in electric and BUY siacoin then I could mine with the ASIC

+/- say 50c a day more with the obelisk is all.

makes  more sense to keep my PSU's for other uses and keep the units virgin in the box and just play that game in my mind

also ibelink is releasing a 7 TH decred miner shipping august 1st ...so the decred units will likely be toast as well
