"Quotient offers a 1,618% annual interest rate, with a 618 coin cap on the stake reward per block.  The reward cap encourages breaking unspent outputs into smaller units for a better distribution of coin weight and smoothing the effects of large wallets coming on and off of the network."
will be higher once balls process is finished but no big deal.i think its a great idea.will encourage people to buy and hold balls. Grin

so when do we break the balls into smaller blocks is that possible without coin control?

Ok, so I think we have an interesting solution put together here. The clients for the fork will be posted in a little bit, but here is what is going to happen

Yearly yield from staking will be changed. At block 80,000, it will start increasing by 1% per block (starting at the original 5000%), hitting 10000% at block 85,000. At this point it will begin dropping 1% per block, hitting 1000% at block 94,000 and staying at 1000% afterwards. This will still keep us as the highest staking coin on the market without relying too much on transactions fees

Speaking of transaction fees...we actually had come up with 4 very interesting solutions to help with inflation control. The only problem with all 4 of these ideas was how it would be handled on exchanges. It has to do with fees being based on both inputs and outputs and would just cause a headache for anyone who has to calculate them. Not only this, but to fix the exchange solutions would open up vulnerabilities to get around paying any fees at all using raw transactions. So unfortunately, we are leaving fees as they are. At the end of the rollercoaster, staking yield will be cut to 20% of the current new supply
I think this temporaly rice in rate attract people to buy some extra BALLS!

Just to be clear on steps to prepare for fork:

1. Download new QT and backup the wallet.dat file somewhere safe.
2. Uninstall/delete old QT.
3. Install new QT.
4. Let new QT update the blockchain completely.
5. Re-integrate the wallet.dat file and I'm done.

Am I correct with these steps?

Yep. Just make sure you're on 1.0.4

What is 1.0.4? I am not very techy.. so where is the new windows wallet?

I need link to new qt.. I clicked what you put here but it comes up as a picture only.

Is it possible to directly send the coins to the new wallet ?

Sorry if I do ask a stupid question.  Smiley

No reason to use a new wallet

can i download the new wallet on a new computer and just replace the new wallet.dat with the old.dat in roaming folder?

Yes

okay but I am  not prepared when the fork comes at block 85,000? if i use the old version 1.0.3.

i currently using version 1.0.3 .

You will be on the wrong fork without 1.0.4 wallet version.
Save your wallet.dat elsewhere then delete roaming folder for balls, or delete everything except wallet.dat.
Delete version 1.0.3 and download then install 1.0.4. Your wallet should sync with your balance.
