searched but found nothing about underclocking the sp30. there was only a conversation about underclocking for running it on 110V circuits.
so anybody have any information about underclocking and extending the sp30 lifetime in light of the giant difficulty increases?

I plan to try it in the next day(s).

So there will definitely be another difficulty rise before our SP30's ship :*(

No it won't! SP30 will ship next week.
This.

Also, spondoolies hasn´t been sitting idle and have been shipping and producing miners for most of August now.

As stated, the groupbuy units were the most discounted as they are scheduled to ship last.

Spondoolies has over 1000 units ordered for the 2 August batches, and producing them between 50-100 units a day takes time (- weekends etc.)

what the hell do you mean scheduled to ship last !? I didn't see anything in the group buy info stating we would received our machines in September due to them being most discounted...

So basically you are telling me now only will we receive 20% less hashing power than promised... we also receive our machines at the end of the line due to us all committing as a group to buy a large

amount of boxes similar to what a large mining operation would order and thus get a bulk rate discount.   The whole point of a GB is to allow the manufacturer to lock in their profits using economies of scale

i.e. its more cost effective to produce 400 sp30s in a large batch than 1 here 2 there etc.: we save them money buy ordering in bulk and thus we get a group discount.

What fine print are you reading I never read anything about us getting our machines last what the f is this all about ?

Aslo there are no news about compensation they promised 3 weeks ago. I, also cannot understand why there is such a big deal with announcing this important for us information. Do they have some sort of financial difficulties which make them so undecisive what kind of compensation package they shuld offer to us, so they postpone it as long as they can?

Compensation was promised for October so any news will be just news and nothing else.

I think it's pretty obvious he wasn't expecting the compensation now rather... "What compensation package they should offer us"

I also think they should announce this already the SP30 is preforming 20% under hashpower and for the vast majority of buyers they were already looking at a less than 20% ROI with the original specs. Without adequate compensation the SP30 is definitely a loosing bet... it will never ROI...

Even if you got your GB SP30 today (probably wont show up at your house for another two weeks) and difficulty increased by only 15% it will mine about 8 bitcoins in it's usable life since it cost about 10 at the time of the GB, that's a loss of 20% (Not even including the power/hosting costs)... Now you see why the compensation is critical to this 'investment' paying off or not?

That's why it would be good to have some news now... I'm sure it would put at ease all those GB customers that have now lost bitcoin on the SP30 venture (pretty much everyone).

10 days
Actually, around 10-20 days.

Additionally discount weekends and Sundays, you are at 13-26 days.

Allow for first bulk chips to be shipped around the 7th of August and voila, it works out to whole August production.

EDIT: Just realised that Spond's quoted just now they are making 50-100 units per day

SO how can they ship all 400-1100 units from GB/August batch 2 if they start shipping of the 30th?

please reread - Guy says they will be produced and shipped next week per last post.

Next week means after 25th of August. I do not really understand why they have to wait until last days of the month to build and ship the units if they have capability to build and ship them earlier. That means that in best scenario, people who are at the front of the queue in the Group Buy will get their miners right in the end of August while the rest of people from Group Buy will receive their miners in September. It is just making things even worse for us. They could have made it clearer explaining that "August Batch" may be shipped in the end of the month but real delivery is for September which actually rather makes it "September Batch".

That would also indicate that their supposed October batch could be very likely shipped in the end of October which makes ir rather November batch rather than October batch.

Can someone from Spondoolies (Zvi?) or an SP30 owner confirm or deny that the SP30 works well with p2pool please.

I can confirm that there are no issues with running SP30 on p2pool

Edit: Happy 300 pages Spondoolies Tech!

Before someone says why don't you just email Spondoolies, I have more than once and no reply.

Can someone please explain the Spondoolies shipping queue to me... My current understanding is...

August Batch 1
Roadstress GB
August Batch 2

Now people have been told that the GB will ship between 15th-30th of August. How can they ship the GB as late as the 30th if there was an August batch 2 that succeeded it?

Are they shipping Batch 2 before the GB or are they shipping Batch 2 late?

Cheers,

It could be the GB is part of Batch 2.

Ok even if you count the GB as the START of Batch 2 it still dosen't make sense for them to start shipping it on the 30th and not come out late with some of Batch 2/GB. I mean there was close to 400 units in the GB and we have no idea how many were sold after that under the name August Batch 2... Since they allowed up to 1100 units to be purchased in the GB I imagine the shortfall was made up after the GB closed under the name August Batch 2.

Do you think it is plausible that they will ship 400-1100 units in two days if they start shipping the GB/Batch 2 on the 30th?

400-1100 units is easy to ship in two days.

Isn't most of the GB for colocation or a nice chunk of it, pallets can be shipped / moved to the data center quickly. 200-300 units can be shipped in a matter of minutes on pallets.  I've never received smaller than a pallet except for a single SP10 if they ship them individually its a simple software program that will print one label for each miner on order that isn't a pallet, slap a label on a box and wait for it to be picked up.

Boxing them is very quick.

Yeah....that's just the shipping part.... but what about building them?

Spondoolies has droned on before that they build test and ship a unit in a 24Hr period, that they don't hold onto it longer than that mining from themselves if this is true the building rate must match the shipping rate.

So since the start of August 20 days ago if they are building/shipping at that rate they must have produced 20*(400 to 1100) units or 8000-22000 SP-30's

That's a total Hashrate of 4500Gh/s*(8000 to 22000) or 36 - 99 Ph/s

Since August the entire network has risen by ~ 40Ph/s

So if they are producing 400 per day then they account for the all the hardware deployed in the month of August (totally ridiculous considering all the other manufactures specifically Bitmain pumping out the S3's)

And to pretend that they have been making 1100 per day is crazy as there simply hasn't been that much Hashrate deployed in the whole network since the start of August.

EDIT: Just realised that Spond's quoted just now they are making 50-100 units per day

SP30 Specs.  I am looking for the specs for the maximum CFM air flow for the SP30.

I know that the fan speeds are variable based on temperature/workload, but I am looking for the maximum CFM for the use of heat extraction from a hood vented racking system. It may be in a previous post but a quick search did not reveal for me and the specs on the website show "4x80mm" fans, but not maximum CFM.

Thanks for the help.

You know we don't.
GB machines weren't produce yet. They'll be produced and shipped during next week.
We're producing and shipping 50-100 miners a day.
