From latest SEC filing. Predicting $60M revenue for 2016 and generally SP50s in Q1 2016 as long as they can raise more money. I'd be very surprised if this filing wasn't specifically so they can provide the information to more potential investors.

Thanks for sharing was a interesting read.  I'm surprised in Q1 only 500 SP50 is assumed.  Does not sound like a ton of miners but I guess they are massive in hashrate.

Will be interesting to see how correct they are on the number SP50's during Q1. I really want to see their having expectations.  That is the other numbers I want to see what the big companies assume.

It could be interpreted in a few ways but my interpretation is:

  • Building 500 SP50s Q1 @ 10k cost each = need $5m funding
  • Selling 500 SP50s Q1 = $14.6m = $29.2k each after any sales taxes
  • Later on in the year.... deploying 500 SP50s = another $14.6m+ revenue
  • Final $14.4m revenue from selling another 500 units.
  • $18M costs for the year, $15m from unit and amortised chip costs, $3m fixed costs.
So from these numbers it appears that even if they could raise $5M, they're only predicting to make 1,500 SP50s over the year (165PH).
is the 29k$ price just a speculation of your's or it has been publicly released ?

Speculation based on their slides, the other 'leak' suggested a higher price.
yeah its likely to get in the market after the halving , but still 100 btc price is quite ROiable

Curious, has anyone updated cgminer on their SP20E to another version besides 4.7.0 that's in the 2.6.14 firmware?

Interested in this as well.  Installed 2.6.4 on an sp31, no change to cgminer.

If you change the ExtraFlag setting to 2 for extranone and restart it switches over to cgminer 4.8.0 if that helps at all.

Thanks for the tip, worked for me!

500 x SP50 = 11 320 x S7 (maximum)

My already shipped 23  x S7 are today more than 1 x Sp50   Grin
Three months earlier than Q1

This is a weak point no matter when it's made since we can play that same game from the days of GPU mining, the Jupiter, S1, on and on...

You have a big advantage on time frame.  Only thing is once this is released if on spec it's "0.14 W/GHs".    That would be a significant amount of power savings

So really depends on when they ship which we don't really know.  Q1 leaves them quite a bit of time in crypto world.

It sounds like to me they have a little way to go to secure funding to even start making these units so I'm guessing late Q1 so even more like four to six months.

I would LOVE to setup a group buy, as I think that is the only way I would get my hands on one of these machines.

armed militia has been working on one since the start of september

That looks like some sort of hosted joint investment on an SP50.  I would like to find 5-10 individuals willing to each purchase 1 or more full units for themselves so that we can place an order with Spondoolies.  I have been in contact with 3 people who are willing to purchase multiple units already (if the price is as expected), but again, it appears Spondoolies is not particularly interested in entertaining sales talks at this time.

At MOQ you'll be getting list price, that's how it works.

Exactly, and meeting MOQ still means you need to round up upwards of $500K i would imagine; easier said than done.

Where are you zefir with you Avalon magic that managed to raise 8M$+?

The bigger the order the more discount we are likely to get from spondoolies.

looks like it's still in the planning stages but no sense starting a dozen smaller group buys when everyone can combine into one. The bigger the order the more discount we are likely to get from spondoolies.

As mentioned, jtoomim would make for a great choice to host a GB as well, and I would be interested in joining that if it were made available also.

I disagree. I think he'd be a terrible choice. If you go with toomim you are all but guaranteed to get hosed/overcharged. They still charge $95 a kilowatt! You would probably get a slightly better price than their walk-in rate but even that would likely be higher than $60-$70 which is what most legitimate hosters seem to charge now.

From what I can see armedmilitia is indepdent so he's not locked in to one overpriced hoster and appears to have already secured hosting rates that are almost half of what toomim charges. Regardless I would expect his group by to go with whatever hoster offers the best price/value whereas you can be guaranteed if toomim organizes a group buy it's getting hosted at toomim regardless of how much they are overcharging.
