Houston...love it despite 100oF  Smiley
I am trying to find a home for it elsewhere, though, if it is anything like Sp-10. Some places offer quite reasonable hosting.

Listen very carefully.  Everytime someone writes about air conditioning with regard to mining datacenters, they are crazy and they don't understand heat and heat transfer.

Semiconductors don't mind 100F.  Not at all.  Humans can't work in 100F.  Air conditioning is for humans.  Not for semiconductors.
Don't buy a fucking aircondtioner for mining equipment.  Ever.  Air conditioners make more heat than they make cold.  True fact.

To cool a data center, 100F is fine.  The trick is, to move the heat away from the semiconductor - fast.  If you put a shitload of 100F air movement on the semiconductor it will be fine.  Put some freaking heavy wind on it.  If the wind is 100F, the semiconductor will only be a bit higher.  What you need is tons of air movement.- not cold.

Don't believe me?  Heat a piece of metal until it glows red.  Then blow on it. Goes back to black real fast.  Stop blowing - red again.

If you put a shitload of air movement on your miners you'll remove heat really well - even if the air is 100F.  If you use water or air conditioning, or ice or dry ice, all you've done is introduced tons of complexity and little heat removal.  The most efficient way to remove heat is lots of wind.  It doesn't matter what temperature the wind is.  Even the Swedish winter isn't cold enough to cool mining equipment.  You need to get the fucking heat away from the semiconductor.  This doesn't take cold - it takes heat movement.  Making 'cold' is hard work.  Moving heat away from an ASIC is easy.  Use 'wind' - not 'cold' to efficiently cool your miners.

3. Cointerra-did not hit the mark (off by 20%)-I did not order this one, although I live close by.

Fellow TX miner eh? DFW area here, how about you? If you are close I would love to come check out your SP30 when it comes in.. I have been eyeing them for awhile now and would love to see how it compares to my old terraminer in terms of noise/heat..

Yeah I'm afraid of how my shop would have felt when we had our old setup running (19TH at ~76A used).  By May it was getting bad enough where we couldn't screw with the cars anymore which made the place useless.  You going to host the SP30 from home or one of our local DC's.

That's a new one ! Chips got disconnected during shipment ?

Is that what Spondoolies told you Collider ?

This is a screenshot to the unit:
https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.7323304

As to the exact inner workings I am not sure, but I think the DCDC connection in very early boards could be damaged by DHL playing football with the package.

As you can see from my unit screenshots, it is working at 1500GH, so quite a bit more than advertised.
I therefore didn´t bother to open it up or RMA the unit (which obviously isn´t underperforming at all.)

If anything, this proves that the hardware is designed quite well, as even with a small problem it still outperforms the rated specs.

AFAIK spondoolies is now using a different DCDC connection and the issue should no longer be a "problem".

@spondoolies

How do you guarantee that all 30 chips work?
Do you just power up the unit and look whether all report hashing?

Also, please make sure that no chips get disconnected during shipment again.
While I was not too worried by my 9 disconnected chips in my sp10, I would be very worried if I received an sp30 with some of the 200GH chips not working.

Finally, is the WA hosting facility ready to receive the first miners once you start shipping?
Apart from one email about the offer, there isn´t any information about chosing this hosting package on your website.

For the blind assembly ASICs, some indeed may not work. We'll build more machines than what we sold and we'll ship only machines that meet the spec.
For later machines, the ASICs will undergo testing and sorting.

The WA hosting facility is ready, we'll charge for the 6 months period soon.

Lets start receiving SP30s first and then we will think about pre-orders for 3rd generation once ST settles down with their plans.
I personally think there shouldn't be any pre-orders for 3rd generation until ST lets us profit from our SP30s first so we could save btc for 3rd generation (End of September?).

ASIC Wannabe
RawDog, since you have burning desire to pre-order something, I created this special product page for you:
http://www.spondoolies-tech.com/products/rawdog-special-pre-order-for-future-pre-orders-products

All of us here at Spondoolies-Tech appreciate your support.

Guy
Thanks Guy, I really appreciate your help on this. However, I already sent the payment in response to the PM you sent earlier.

I don't know what drugs you are smoking man, but I am getting in early on this one.  No sarcasm at all.  SP50s are coming and I am not going to be late this time. I'll buy 10 if the price is good.  But for sure I'll sign up for 10 on the preorder.

RoadStress - is it OK if we just use the last GroupBuy address?  If you still have the keys, I'll send 5BTC today for 10XSP50s reservation.

Hi,

We have now opened the books on a very limited basis for pre order due to popular demand Smiley

If you would like me to reserve 10 SP50 units @ 5BTC the payment address is :

*rawdog scam address

Thank you for your continued business,

5pondoolies-Tech

Should I also do the checkout on the webpage?  I looked but I don't see a way to pay in bitcoin.  I can send dollars.  Either way, it sure is great that you guys are now taking preorders for preorders.  I am dying to get my hands on the new SP50s!

Way to go Spondoolies!!!

Thanks

rawdog, you are such a f*cking idiot - you need to shut up and stop trying to scam people into sending money for a non-existant produt to your own address. Sponndolies-tech is making fun of you with their "pre-order to reserve the ability to pre-order" and your quoted scam PM links straight back to that same spondoolies-tech page.

its enough i had to leave a negative trust rating since it seems prety obvious you are trying to sucker others into sending money to your address, but noone is that dumb. (plus you have zero proof you sent or even own 50BTC)

Run a Bitcoin node.
This started out entertaining, but got silly when a BTC address was posted to receive "pre-order" funds.

This sort of thing is a scammers paradise, FFS don't send money to anyone!

We all need to wait for an official announcement from ST on their Gen 3 product.

I also doubt anyone would believe such a phony story and halfassed scamming attempt.

Believe it or don't believe it, it is all right there in black and white (actually purple).  These guys are freaking scammers and they tried to trick me.  Thank god Guy set up a new products page for there pre orders on the SP50s.  And thanks to the guy who found the '5' in Spondoolies!  That was a lucky break I saw that post.

no thanks, so what is the wallet you sent 50 btc to?
