Georgem sold all his SPR so he doesnt care.

Well I'm not a pump'n'dumper like you.
I'm in it for the long haul.

I've been actively mining SPR for quite a while now.
I'll continue doing so forever, now that I have a constantly growing mining operation going.
I also need this deeper mining experience since I'm working on my own advanced spreadminer.

All this feels like a wet dream.
As long as SPR price stays high I'll just afford more and more 1080's.
Should the price come down, I'll be able to mine more blocks.

If altcoin sphere has taught me anything it's that in the end patience will be rewarded.
So you guys go ahead, do your swaps and HLMs and what not, while I just stay here with SPR forever.
We will see how this will play out.

BTW I also do all kinds of dev work (Qt and C++) where you can pay me in SPR if anyone is interested.  Grin

That's the humble way of earning some SPR, the opposite of what you pump'n'dumpers are doing. Grin

u make other coins bad but simple cant answer me a question for your coin??? look at your own coin before write something bad about a other coin. because it looks like u do nothing for spreadcoin. if there is not helium, spreadcoin have 0,0 VALUE so be happe there will helium in future. thats the only reason why your coin pumped.

WHAT DO I NEED FOR A SERVICENODE?

SERVICENODES

Georgem sold all his SPR so he doesnt care. His strategy for the last 4 months has been coming into the forum each month and saying "BIG THINGS ARE COMING" without ever delivering. Perhaps when the coin goes to the floor he might pick up some again and then start his pump all over.

Yes, if you own Spreadcoin when the snapshot happens (currently August 1st) you will be able to receive HLM & keep both coins. The ratio is 1:1.

I haven't heard a good explanation yet why HLM doesn't simply start a new blockchain once development is ready.

Shouldn't this lead to the fairest distribution of coins, especially if the goal is to host masternodes?
(and centralization of masternodes is a bad thing, right? Right? Do we agree about that? Roll Eyes )

To me, the current approach (snapshot) looks like an "instamine on steroids" when you consider how centralized the coin distribution of Spreadcoin obviously is.
(Just look at the ease with which a handful of big SPR holders gets to pump the price of SPR right now, especially during this altcoin bubble)

I mean, anybody with two brain cells can see that.
So, do you guys even care anymore?

SERVICENODES
A servicenode is a node which runs continuously (24/7) on a server and which provides services within the spreadcoin network.

You have to pay a collateral to be able to install a servernode (in return your servicenode will earn a steady income).

This collateral is determined by a free market price discovery.

(No fix collateral. The price is allowed to fluctuate over time.)

what do i need for this?

@geogem give me pls a answer  Huh

So I've accidentally sent Spreadcoin to a Stratis address.

Yes, embarrassing.

I've tried importing the Stratis privkey for that address into the Spreadcoin wallet but I get the error message "Invalid private key (code -5)"

Any suggestions as to how I might go about recovering my lost Spreadcoin?

Spreadcoin and Stratis addresses look exactly the same.
Both use Networkbyte (address prefix) of 63.
Except that Spreadcoin uses compressed public addresses.

So in a way that's a similar situation we had earlier with the guy who burned his paperwallet SPR because of a mistake.

You are in the same situation.
There is no way you can recover the SPR you sent to that Stratis-Address, because your transaction was indeed valid (there is a SPR address that looks exactly like your Stratis address).
This transaction has now long been confirmed by the blockchain,
but you don't own the actual private key of that SPR address (that looks like your Stratis address), since it would need to resolve to a compressed public address not an uncompressed.

Well.... nobody will ever own that private key to be more exact.  Cool

When HLM splits, I hope I have a node so I can vote for his coins to go to me Cheesy

lol, is that what HLM will be about?
You can "vote" what happens with other people's money?

oh jeeezus..!
Did that  piet noob just burn 10,000 Spreadcoin?

It sure looks that way... although all this could be a misunderstanding I hope.
I asked him to send me copies of his paperwallets so that I can take a final look and determine if the case is terminal or not.

Sad

But yeah, I think it's a pretty clear case.

If you want to recover the SPR in your address SQtakqnKGKUZLK5UhRqETkWAZp6P4nZ7UG,
you would need to find a new private key where SQtakqnKGKUZLK5UhRqETkWAZp6P4nZ7UG is the compressed public address , not the uncompressed address.
That's the only way to recover your SPR, but also impossible.  Sad

George, don't you think it would be a good idea to ask the paper wallet provider to either remove Spreadcoin from their site or modify the generator to work properly?

Well, the generators DO work properly, it's just that they don't care to inform the user about further specifications/limitations of a coin.
You can create wonderful paperwallets with them, just be sure to send your SPR to the right (compressed) address!

So, what's the issue with those generator sites?
It's very easy to create a generator for hundreds of coins by just switching the network byte and assign it to a coin name and logo.
But it would be extra work to properly test the results and warn people about specific issues. (with sometimes fatal consequences)
Those sites try to skip this extra work by just indiscriminately showing both compressed and uncompressed addresses, although NO coin (as far as I know) allows for simultaneous usage of both address types.
They know that some coins use this format and some the other, and they assume that the user will be informed enough to know what to choose.

So, I'd rather people wise up and know about the dangers instead of me having to police all third party sites. That would turn into a never ending job.

For what its worth, I wouldn't really call this a rookie error. Its more of a case of a usually reliable service that is mis configured for your project.

Rookie as in "learning the hard way in what state most altcoin sites and services are".
We've all been there. I'm not being condescending.

Walletgenerator sites are lazy, but I don't really blame them.
Though I wouldn't call that "reliable service", just look for example at this glaring mistake in the universalwalletgenerator.net

There is not much hyip about this coin in media.

why...should there be?

Theres like 3 gazillion shitcoins out there with new ones coming online everyday.
And apart from the yahoos and scammer clowns that frequent the yobit/cryptopia troll boxes,
I don't see much hype about them either.
But that's not to say I don't like this coin .. quite the contrary...I think it's awesome.
I have to say if one (like myself) is addicted into crypto, then as well as hodeling bitcoin ,(a crypto portfolio must) one must
also have a "pet" coin (or 2 or 3 or more) in ones portfolio that one mines and/or trades.
Also one must be active in the community of said coin(s), be it posting on the thread, and/or promoting ,developing, whatever.
In my case that happens to be Spreadcoin....

I adjusted the OP, now it says...

WARNING!

Be careful when creating paper wallets or addresses with third party sites, like walletgenerator.net or universalwalletgenerator.net.
There have been cases where people sent SPR to the non-compressed public address.
This has fatal consequences since SPR uses compressed public addresses ONLY.

Always send SPR to the compressed public address, or else your SPR are lost forever.

Thanks in advance to help us out...

I suggest you do the following:

since your intent was to purchase HLM with those SPR,
and since HLM will (as far as I know) bring its coins into existence through some sort of swap,
you could ask the HLM team to consider your SPR amount that you sent to a non standard address.

If I'm not mistaken HLM will use a centrally controlled escrow mechanism to swap those SPR for HLM.
It will be infinitely easier for HLM to consider your non-standard SPR, instead of Spreadcoin changing it's protocol to solve a rookie mistake.
