I have 30 R9 Vapor X cards arriving tomorrow, along with mobos etc to set it up..will just run it in a spare room i have here at the apartment, as there is a vent to the outside. I'm already running a couple cards and they are quiet.. - Dabs, you are welcome to come visit again and check it out, but will post pictures...

We will build a 100 GPU rig at my office in India - my main network guy is there anyway, plus we have subsidized electricity cost at 6 cents per Kwh. Bit cheaper there...Smiley The main reason is to mine TAG for the future, as we must have a steady supply for the merchants that we are signing up via Tagbond, and that is just in the Philippines. As other merchants come online from around the world, or other companies decide to buy for their own reward systems, then there will be even more demand, so just preparing for the future. As I have mentioned before, we are here for the long haul, not really into speculation as much as building a solid business.

In 6 months I expect there will be better ways to mine TAG, but these rigs pay for themselves within a couple months. Figured if something faster/better comes along, we will have a kickass gaming/flight sim setup for my staff..Smiley

How much are you willing to pay for them? hehehehe. I can buy them for you. I'll have to check if they still have the stock. They are a little more expensive than other countries (I'm in the Philippines, it's about 14000 Pesos / 43 per USD = 325 USD per GPU.) They are PowerColor 7950s.

Oh, well I'll pass then. I'm an MSI kinda guy

What kind of setup is that? 75 MH/s would be at least 115 GPUs. One local computer store here has only 9 7950s in stock.

What store? What model cards?

<--- lol, need more cards

I posted a 5 question mutli choice quiz that gives .02 TAG (20 mTAG) reward if you get the questions right (they are easy) and if you share it on facebook or any blog or site you have also gives you 0.02 TAG every time someone else takes the quiz (regardless if they get the answers right or wrong). The only stipulation is that to take the quiz you need to be sms verified on tagbond, but to share it you don't.

The racks of my GPUs which I keep at home, thoroughly heat the place lol.. the 3,000sq/ft house I was in up until recently was easily in the 80's regardless of the temperature outside. Same for the new place. The neighbors must wonder what I'm doing, with windows which have several fans constantly blowing air inside the house, even when it's 25..30*F outside.

Haven't had to pay for electricity in months because mining has been doing it for me, especially a professional coin like Tag.

Mining is so much fun. Once you get the equipment to GPU mine, it's amazing. If nothing else, in the right situation, it will pay for your electric. Can't go wrong there.

Yeah, it's quite chilling over here. It's below freezing.  Even though, I'm only running 2x 7870 OC, It managed to put my room to 80 degrees.

I don't know what's the electricity going to be cost at the end of this month. :X

Allright Wink.

I saw the price of a single TagCoin is about 0,00175 BTC currently at Cryptsy. It use to be higher, but that doesn't bother me; I bought myself a nice amount of TagCoins at this cheap price! Smiley

In my house, its less than that. But maybe I'm in a different bracket. I'll have to check the rates at home, and at the office.

Well..at least iceland produces electricity the green way...

The costs here are about 35c per kwh...but mining a coin like TAG would still be profitable...in our case to have a steady supply to sell to merchants who want to give them out as rewards..as the demand ramps..the price will have to rise..

Nice! Smiley. What do you pay for 1 kwH if I may ask? It's about €0,20 here, which is also quite high I think.

I think organizations like Greenpeace will start complaining if we move all our miners to countries with could temperature. That extra heat will make that ice melt even more over there, and the sea level will increase too ^^.

As an experiment, I created a mining rig with 2 x Vapor-X 28X cards last night, and connected to tagmining.com.. just my luck..Wink

It was interesting to set it up but probably the worst place to mine, where we have the one of the highest residential power costs in the world :-) Probably best to set up a mining farm in Iceland, where the power costs are low and you could probably heat your home with it.

If the PoS mining is similar to PPCoin, then there are ways to make it mine while the wallet is encrypted, I found some threads on it. What I want to make sure is what exactly is the formula for the actual proof of stake coins.

Based on coin days, every 30 days, 1.5% per year / 12 months? Or something. If anyone can read the code and interpret it for the normal people, that would be appreciated.

What I can understand now, is that PoS mining is not exact, it is not really per month, it depends on when your tagcoin-qt client is open and connected to the tagcoin network; just that you mine faster if you have not been online for awhile, and if you have more TAG. But essentially, if it is similar to PPCoin, then the average of all PoS will be 1.5% per year, on coin transactions older than 30 days.

If you keep moving your coins, then you can't mine PoS.

I'm going to look at the source code myself, but I'm sure there are other people here who can understand it better.

*edit* of course, it's computer code, so there is an exact formula for it. I meant that it's not exact in the sense of trying to describe it in one line... Anyway, ...
