No response from private email to lead developer. Waited several days. May have a dead coin, or they just may be on vacation.

Anyway you cut it, the lack of communication is not good. =/

Too bad! This coin still has promise with the right handling. Without any direction, the best we can expect is the occasional pump and dump.

Why does solo mining not give me anything when I find a block and it's accepted? I know it can happen if someone else found a block at almost exactly the same time as me, but 3 times in a row I find a block and no credit given?

Something is seriously wrong here.
Are you using the very latest wallet? If not, download it from here: http://projecttak.com/ (At the bottom of the page)
Yeah, I'm using the latest: 0.9.1.3.

After finding 5 blocks, I finally got paid for one. After that, it seemed to pick up with most blocks I found I was getting paid for, but I'm still getting a lot where I don't.

I think it's just a function of how the coin it setup. Return vs difficulty vs hashrate. Seems like the difficulty "should" be higher than it is for the hashrate.

A new mining pool for TAKCoin:

http://takeicoin.securepayment.cc/
stratum+tcp://takeicoin.securepayment.cc:3352

Connect to this mining pool using your TAKCoin address as the username to "solo mine" for 97% the block reward.  The remaining 3% goes towards filling the up-coming faucet.

Payments are done hourly after 1000 conformations.

I have been following the press efforts of some of the other coins with "causes", such as Mazacoin. They have big name press due to the "sovereign currency for the Native Americans" thing going for them, whether it's true or not. (Sadly, the price manipulation and block rewards seem to be countering the positive press).

I was wondering how much effort on the developers side of things there has been to get press interviews from mainstream sources? I can see this coin having a much better chance than most of getting some huge positive press due to the human rights message. The first big "Gay Rights" coin is going to probably end up STAYING the big "Gay Rights" coin, so it is important to get the first press coverage. The coin definitely  has it's niche in the market. While the focus of the coin could be to a wider range of charitable causes overall, LGTB causes get lots of both liberal and conservative news play, with moderates and independents making up the other large demographics politically who are just waiting to jump on the right horse. This fits in with a lot of investor profiles! Lots of possibility out there that has yet to be tapped.

Are there any "personality" devs working on this coin that can do camera interviews and do a good job representing the coin? Any attempts to set up press interviews to speak of? I think news agencies would like the "Here we are, interview us now and follow up with us later when we deliver the coins/money to the charity" line of reporting. They have used that same format for a few other coins already.

{Edit} I have since realized you can click on the names of the various developer team members to see their bios. Great support!

What's that dead rotten smell? It's TAKCoin. First off your team seems like it is supposed to have a lot of experience. What I don't understand is why you decided on using an acronym for your coins name. It shows no creativity whatsoever.

You name the coin after a person but you don't know before hand if he wants to be a part of it...That's great!

An investor only cares about making money. He doesn't care about supporting your cause especially if he's not too fond of LGTB. You can't just say the coin was created to support this cause blah blah blah and not care about the price of TAKcoin. You have to be concerned about the support of the coin as well as it's price. They go hand in hand.

There is already too many rookie mistakes for this coin to go anywhere. This coin was already pumped and dumped. I doubt it will see 100 Satashi again as there is no demand for it.

There are 100 other coins (hell even new coins) that actually have a good chance of making you a return unlike this one.
I just don't understand why of all things a social networking site and how on earth the coin is going to be relevant on it at all

As someone who was mining on day one this is a question I would love an answer to as well.  What will the role of the coin be and why will it have value on the site?
