the new wallet has the needed seed's already inside. the p2pool is just a p2pool node.

Ahmed

P2pool uses it's own seperate sharechain for each coin (as well as the coin blockchain) which also requires seed nodes. The problem is, when 2 or more users create their own sharechain to run p2pool, once they connect with each other it creates conflicts.

Info: The current TRC blockchain seed nodes in the official P2pool repo are:

it shouldnt. I'll see if i can gather some time to get a new TRC p2pool going with a new chain

That would be great Ahmed. Ideally I think we should have a TRC Foundation seednode embedded in the networks.py file in the official p2pool repo, as it looks like the current ones are dead, and that's why people are creating their own sharechains by changing the "PERSIST" value - resulting in multiple sharechains.

That's my theory anyway...... Cheesy

Thanks Ahmed!  What does it take to host a seed node for both normal operation of the wallet and for p2pool?

I've never set up a seed node, so can't help there I'm afraid - but I'm sure mrbodz will know. I do know that p2pool requires at least 2 permanent seed nodes in order to keep the share chain alive, but more is better.

I'm running a p2pool node for helping the share chain alive. I think if the node is active, it will automatically become a seed for the others.

Mandatory Wallet Update!!!
This time for real!!

A hard fork will be happening in approximately 3 weeks (block 833000).  This will enable merge mining and Dark Gravity Wave difficulty readjustment algorithm.

The code is now, and forever located at https://github.com/clockuniverse/terracoin and moving forward all changes will be done on this repository.  Open issues on there if you have any.

A 32-bit Windows version of the wallet is available here: https://github.com/clockuniverse/terracoin/releases

The 32-bit Windows version works perfectly with 64-bit Windows.

We will have a 64-bit version soon!

I have contacted Cryptopia and Vircurex telling them of the mandatory new wallet.

This is a mandatory update to move Terracoin into the present.  Since this is such an old block chain we will have a number of people who are unaware that this is happening.  Please inform everyone immediately that this is happening.

Thanks everyone!

This is great news Dev! Smiley Waiting for the 64 bit version...

The TRC p2pool network is screwed. Every node seems to be working on their own sharechain, creating stales/doa's/rejects for every other node. No option but to shut my node down & wait for the fork so I can start mining it again.

hmm, thats strange, atleast i didnt notice any problems in my node, maybe it depends from hash power...

Thanks I will try it out Smiley Opps I need window binaries for that

I just tested out the 32 bit Windows exe and it seems to work great.  I got peers galore right away.

Here is the link: https://github.com/clockuniverse/terracoin/releases

I am still waiting on the 64 bit Windows exe, but that give us a day to test out the 32 bit wallet.

The hard fork is planned for block 833,000 and that shouldn't change unless we find something terribly wrong with the current wallet.

Tomorrow the Terracoin Foundation will mobilize to get the word out about the new wallet.

All the help we can get with this will be appreciated, but don't start until tomorrow!!

Also thanks to the community for helping amarian12 get his pool working.  When the hard fork happens I think we are going to all need to work on helping each other out to adjust.

Thanks dev, I am for the 64 bit .. finally we will see some attention for TRC!

updated to V16 and added to the network...

I think there is a problem with your node - all shares are rejects/DOA. Did you redownload the v16 blockchain? Have you changed the default p2pool port from 9323?

it is fix now as it was "PERSIST = True" needed in the config

Changing the "PERSIST" value to False means you are using your own sharechain - ie: solo mining, which defeats the whole object of p2pool. Do you do this with all your p2pool nodes?

i use False for the pools where i don't have peers, for terracoin i was the only p2pool for last months that's way was on false not it is on true.
