I wonder how anyone is going to OC these boards without voiding warranty? I wonder
if Bitfury will come out with some sort of officially sanctioned OC package with active
cooling?

That seems unlikely...but it might be worth the risk considering you can get more than 125+% performance with overclocking.

can anyone confirm that the c-shape board is capable of higher voltages and clockrates? So overclocking with some heatsinks and fans should be good?
There's a limit to the output power that can be provided by the on-board regulator, and the voltage is not easily adjustable. However, if you feel a bit adventurous, you could heat up the soldering iron, remove a component to disconnect the on-board regulator, and solder down a wire to provide your own power.  The bottom side of the board is completely flat (at least in the part where the chips are), and can accomodate a heat sink. There are even mounting holes in the board that could be used for that purpose.

I seriously doubt that 2.7Ghps has no headroom left in it.

this is probably true. even though the efficiency drops at faster speeds, these chips are still doing 0.8W/GH at 2.7GH/s.

The price of 10 chips is $1300? wtf.. Smiley marked as 2.7Gh/s.. but with printed 5Gh/s?
it's w/o cooling 50% power, you can do overclock to 5G Sir. theoretically  Tongue

this is incorrect. this chips were designed for 5GH, but they have only been tested up to 2.7GH/s and would require active cooling at these levels. the products for sale on the website are underclocked/volted to 1.5GH/s and passively cooled. the chips become increasingly inefficient as you overclock them.

EDIT:
3.4 GH/s now.

Q: How many Ghash/s per chip?
A: Demonstrated max speed of chip is 3.4GH/s with c-scape quick proto board and massive cooling. This could perhaps be further increased with even better cooling and board design. On our kits the chips are under clocked however to produce better efficiency and easier cooling.

Q: Why does it say 5GHASH on the reel. Is the chip that fast?
A: 5GHASH is the name of the device, so it's written on the reel. It's a name and our original target speed. It MIGHT be possible, but will really mean pushing the chip and board to it's limits.

I see you have October listed for 25 GH units and they are more than August. Is that correct?
Regards,

Yes.

I think Dave should take out prices on "out-of-stock" products.  It does not matter what they are, the products are
out of stock so the price should be 0.  Lower prices for August deliveries just confuse people.

I think this is a really good suggestion.  Actually... if they aren't planning on re-opening purchases for those items (i.e. they are out of stock for good)... just remove them from the site since they won't EVER be in stock.

August starters were an introductory low price offer.  We wanted an exciting announce for Bitfury chips and to get noticed in the sea of Avalon group buys.  I think the response we got shows that the mining community knows how to compute long term value and ROI.  We didn't expect to sell out in 24 hours, but we only have so many chips already in packaging.  For August delivery we have to use the chips that are coming out of manufacturing very soon.

The pricing for October starter kits is set around our target price for October full kits (lowered to $8000).  You'll pay a small premium to build up to a full 16 card setup, so the best value is the full kit at $8000.  If we had simply priced the October starter to build up to the original October full kit price ($9600), you'd be paying $2850 for a starter.  Tytus agreed to lower the full kit price, which lowered the price for the Oct starter.  Hope this makes sense.

Understand that we are producing all product from the same production runs of chips.  If US sells out it means we believe we've run out of product we can commit to shipping.  That means Europe would follow shortly as well.  There's no benefit for setting up EUR->US or US->EUR group buys, because we keep our stock counts and prices in line with each other.  Its not automated (yet) so in this case there was some delay.

All understood -will watch closely while factoring pricing, lead time, etc.  If ROI becomes positive (or I find an extra $8,000 LOL), then I'll get in on these.

The 25GH Miner Starter Kit (October Delivery) is more then 25GH Miner Starter Kit (August Delivery) be cause of introductory pricing.

I gotta charge Dave for supporting this thread, lol. Smiley

No case included for any of the kits?

No cases.  Potentially people will build custom cases for this.

Hey guys, I will probably make a design for a casing, currently waiting for punins answer on this matter, he mentioned that they will maybe provide casings on there own.

Anyone interested in this?

regards

We received a lot of orders in our first day, so it will take some time for us to work through payment reconciliation and special cases.  You can expect to receive a BitPay invoice over the next 24 - 48 hours if you indicated pay by bitcoin (use bank transfer pay method and make a note).  BitPay's extension is buggy for this version of OpenCart.  I'm getting it looked at.

The site is still a little wonky too.  Please access it using https://megabigpower.com/shop and in the meantime I'll write a quick hack to redirect people hitting the site using base domain, etc.  Growing pains...

You know you about scared me to death when the links in all my order acknowledgements suddenly  ( http:// ) turned into 404 errors....

I had a bit of a "oh no, oh no, oh no..." moment there myself... then i remember SSL...typed in https:// and BOOM BABY! Smiley

Will August starter kits ship separately from H-Boards (October) purchased on the same order?

Ugh.., Aug kits will ship in August.., Oct boards will ship in October.
Unless you want all in October.. and in that case.., Dave, ship his kit to me for "testing" and I will drop-ship when his boards arrive in October Wink

Thanks for answering the question for Dave. Documentation on shipping is a bit vague. As it is currently free I was looking for calrification that components would be shipped as piece fulfilment.

I was just making up as I was going along Smiley but yeah, it would definitely take Dave to answer how he is going to handle shipping on your order.
Trying to hold off ordering boards as long as I can. Smiley
