and got not a single comment  . Its about creating a community token and using the collected via for little bounties in order to get people involved. I dont want to issue this because I am new to VIA. Thus, we need an issuer who is trusted.

Drak is not obliged to confirm/deny speculations on Zynga''s (or any other) involvement with VIA. It will be way too unserious, because like most of you agreed - it is unclear. Another important thing is that atm VIA is about 40% higher before the "rumor". I'm sure that many people bought over 26-28k satoshi, following "the news", but that is normal, because 90% of the people involved in cryptos does not understand how it works (especially trading). I suggest to stop the conversations about Zynga and just following the coin (and official news) around him. Sometimes hype can distract investors and VIA does not deserve that, because it's not another pump and dump scheme.

Dont know. Didn't care to follow beyond that. I remember they became like headless chickens trying to desperately put pieces of the puzzle together. But the sad part is that there was no puzzle. Things didn't start falling into place until that recent URO event, for what good it did.

Reminds me of the early URO days when all the URO investors were scrounging any information of PoS (Proof of Shipmet) of the urea order purchased with URO.

This is a very important achievement imo. We need carry on the spirit. I also bought before the pump because of what the tech had to offer. I was, however, a little worried about the status of the community. Arrived here when this Moolah guy was fudding and despair was in the air. I find its much nicer here now

btw, I think that drak would only come out with real news and hard facts. Thats also what he did in the past. Anything else will drag him into endless discussions, expectations and accusations from all sides.

What I learned from my involvement with Karmacoin, is not to create a leadercult because the devs are just devs and not our godfathers. just my 2 cents.

What is weird to me, if after the initial rumor there was no contact, and btcdrak saw all the BS on this forum, wouldn't he inform his investors that the rumors are fake? yet the silence makes me skeptical whether the leaker deleted the posts not because it was a hoax but because he was confronted for causing a panic buy. Just a theory though

For me it is highly possible that TechGen and Defcoin are one person.

Let me tell you guys the reason why I didn't fall for the hype (or hoax, whichever you prefer).

First off, this all started with a newbie account TechGen, whose only posts in this forum only revolve around getting info about CounterParty & ClearingHouse. TechGen's post history was set up so the once the 'leak' surfaced, it would be somewhat more believable as all his posts revolved around the XCP & XCH platforms. 2nd, the only other account that backs up any sort of confirmation was Defcoin. Defcoin had request for proof from TechGen in the Counterparty thread, and TechGen sent him 'proof' via pm. Then Defcoin went silent until TechGen revealed the 'leak' here. Defcoin posted something along the lines of (not exactly quoted, as I unfortunately did not take a screenshot), "I received the leak from TechGen, and contacted Hawley via Linkedin and he basically indirectly confirmed the leak." FYI This post has since been edited and the whole portion about contacting Hawley (Zynga VP) on Linkedin has been removed. This was the first biggest red flag. Within that, another red flag was how doubtful I was that Hawley would respond to some random guy in linkedin and basically confirming info that wasn't official.

Prior to TechGen's leak, there were already some posts here from newbie accounts such as Moolah.lol who were talking about Viacoin's consistent downward death spiral and that only a 'catalyst' would save it. Lo and behold, a week later, enter TechGen and his leak...the perfect catalyst. This was another red flag that made the whole thing seem orchestrated.

Last but not least, TechGen's last post was the nail in the coffin for me. Not only did he leak the info the first time around (which Zynga should've been definitely been aware of), somehow he gets another leak that Zynga will make an official announcement on monday? Yeah....no.

So those were my reasons as to why I stayed away from all this hype as it surfaced...

BUT one thing still is seriously unclear...Why did Pete Hawley follow btcdrak on Twitter almost immediately? If i was a company owner and have been rumored to be involved is something I clearly wont be/am not, I would either just ignore it or make an official public statement denying my involvement...instead btcdrak received a follow from Pete Hawley almost immediately.

This is the point where you can be a pessimist or an optimist.

Pessimistically, its probably safe to assume that Hawley was probably bombarded via twitter & linkedin from viacoin investors for a confirmation. From there, one could think that Hawley just gave btcdrak a heads up via Twitter DM that the 'leak' is not real.  Hawley should have an understanding of how crypto markets work and knowing that an official statement from him would crash the Viacoin market therefore he just decided to leave it as is, but doing btcdrak the courtesy of informing him and only him.

Optimistically, Hawley (or any other Zynga rep) and btcdrak have been in talks since the follow and something is actually brewing behind the scenes.


Had it just been the twitter follow incident, I would be very bullish on viacoin. But the posts of the recent newbie accounts make this seem to be one entire orchestrated exit pump.

Of course, I could be wrong. I'm not trying to state my opinions as fact, but as my own interpretations. Because right now, this whole thing boils down to that Twitter follow. Only Zynga & btcdrak knows whats exactly going on at this point. Everyone else, including myself, can only continue to speculate until either party can confirm or deny.

With that said, one huge positive thing that came out of this (aside from the pump) was in the past week or so, the community seems to have been coming together better and of course, put Viacoin in a bigger limelight.

Too many unknowns and unknown unknowns  

I've been reading through zynga job descriptions, quarterly reports, news items, press releases, and recent patent applications. I can't find anything concrete indicating R&D efforts going into a crypto based product. I realize if they wanted to hide this from their competitors they would not make it obvious, so I still hold out a minutiae of belief that this rumor may come to pass. I would really just like to have more than a twitter follow to base this belief.

The good news is that Zynga was like icing on the cake, I bought my VIA before the rumor for other fundamental reasons. Even without Zynga this coin has a bright future.


Edit: why would Hawley allow a friend of his to post insider information in a public forum? Is he so dumb?

In the original text it said that they would get in touch with drak, which makes sense because you'd want to know specifics before involving your company.
Why do you think drak stayed silent whilst the pump happened?

I wont lie, I made a few posts highlighting the possible hoax aspect but they were taken down quite quickly, the fact that this happened made me think that maybe my doubt spreading was being deleted to not stain the upcoming good news, it seems now though that this was not the case.

Yeah that's the part I still don't get. I mean, surely Hawley is not part of this pump and dump scheme, I mean the volume was not that high on the pump, consider it a failure if somebody wanted to get really rich off of it. Maybe the guy has a personal interest in crypto, and thinks btcdrak is interesting. But why not follow other big crypto names? Doesn't add up.

Until you have a chart, link, post, something better than "JakeThePanda said Zynga is a public traded company", like cocacola you mean? because the news is swamped with stories about them rushing to satisfy the musing of their small investors.
