Soooo - We are starting a public beta of a new function on altminer.net :smile: You can now get email notifications if your workers are down. We have started a new temporary stratum server for this, if you want to participate please configure your miners as follows:
This beta is only availabe for neoscrypt coins. The stratum will be run down after the beta period, so please do only some tests and switch then back to official stratum at 4233. Notifications should be sent 5-10 minutes after worker is down.

Anyone else experiencing problems with their masternodes?
Mine was fine after the update, but now it got stuck on "new_restart_required". When I did a restart it went to "expired".
I did another restart and it's now on "pre_enable".
I see many of the nodes are on "new_restart_required"...
Someone said I need to update my ubuntu?

You don't need to update Ubunutu (although you should install any security patches as they are released).
The issue is that you need to download and run the latest version: 0.12.1.7 (which unfortunately still calls itself 0.12.1.6) as the code was forked to change retarget difficulty, and all wallets/masternodes running the old code are now excluded from the network by the new version. You can download them from https://github.com/vivocoin/vivo/releases (note that you should never trust a URL given in a user's post like this, I've just put it there for convenience, you should go to the main announcement or website and follow the link there to find the official wallets).
Thanks for the tip. I did in fact download the new update and extracted it. Today I heard that you should delete the wallet and peers and conf files (after backing them up). After that run and sync the wallet then copy the files back.
Which I have now done... waiting to see if my node gets pass "pre_enable" phase now.

Nova exchange is still down for new registration. Coinsmarkets is all but a sack of shit, it has a grand total of about 25 Vivo for sale.

Try downloading gateless gate miner. It's the only miner that works for my AMD cards.

The masternode payments can be calculated by the following formula:
Take the number of daily blocks (max 720)
Multiply by the masternode reward (5 vivo)
Divide by number of masternodes (147 as of now)
720*5 = 3600 max coins given to masternodes each day
3600/147 = 24.48 ave coins per masternode per day
This gives a return on investment of ~893% a year
This will go down as more masternodes are added, so the earlier you add your node, the more you will benefit from the high returns.

It's worth noting that, for the blocks (720 in this case), that is the upper figure and can be lower in any 24-hour period. With the recent "difficulty bomb" Vivo and some other currencies were being affected by due to selective mining practices, the block count was significantly less. Also, for coins with low transaction activity (I have 2 masternodes of coins in that situation) similarly the actual number of blocks, and therefore payments, will be less.
