You dont know how many times i was stuck abroad needing internet connection and searching for a Wi-Fi spot i could connect to.
You are offering an interesting and useful solution which can help a lot of travelers. I will be monitoring your progress.

Except you need a connection in the first place to be able to connect the WiC App to the internet to get the map of local Wi-Fi spots. Either you need to find a free or paid Wi-Fi spot before you can use WiC, or you need to buy WiC spots in the destination before you leave. But that won't always work, for example if you're on a road trip and need Wi-Fi along the way.

Not just the traveler but also the whole vast majority of mobile and internet users, since US and europe often use data on there mobile phone and on asia using data is more expensive than having a WiFi around your house.

I still don't understand how this works exactly. Do I earn coin for sharing my wifi password ? Do people use my wifi to earn me coins or do I is theirs ? I'm sorry this is very confusing. It's very cool though. New idea so thats good.

Hey,

So how it works is you can rent out your WiFi network to anyone in need via our CryptoWi app.
When you upload your WiFi network to the app, you get 100 WiC as a reward for that. You can also set a custom price in WiC for that network which you will earn if anyone else connects to it. So for example, if you set the price at 50 WiC, another user who wants to use your WiFi will have to pay you this amount first and then use the WiFi.

Let me know if you have further questions.

Also, check out our new explainer video:

Thank You, the video was needed, and makes things simple to understand. However, will the app be available for Google Play store, and the Apple store markets? Also, has the white paper been released yet? In order for this project to be successful, it needs a massive adoption. As of right now, only crypto enthusiasts (bitcointalk members) are sure to hear about this neat little startup.

Thanks, the app will be available worldwide on both platforms. The white paper has been released and you can view it on our website. We understand the need for mass adoption and that is one of the primary goals for WiC and CryptoWi.

any information about how to add this token to eth wallet?
if i interesting, i will join this ICO

The contract information will be released after the Token Sale is over and you will then be able to add it to any wallet. We have spoken with myetherwallet and WiC will show up there automatically without you needing to do anything.

To join the ICO, please visit https://www.cryptowi.com/token-sale. Presale begins on August 15 at 4PM EST.

Thanks!

Nice if we don't have to add a custom token on MyEtherWallet, that's a good sign for the future of WiC.

i love how fast wic is growing

Thanks!

what about people using my wifi for criminal activities?

can i block or set some connection detailed stuff in the mobile application for my wifi?

Hey, as far as issues regarding illegal activity are concerned, there is no real incentive to use our app for illegal purposes since it would create unnecessary issues for that person. He could easily go to a Starbucks or McDonalds and use their WiFi; no reason to download this app, then buy WiC and then pay for it. Also, since our main aim is mass adoption, we have made it extremely easy and secure for the users. They don't need to worry about security concerns since if you have seen our app demo, you will realize that the end user does not have to do anything except click on a WiFi and buy it. The app does the rest and connects directly without exposing any details to the end user. Also this is all encrypted.

What happens if someone uploads somebody else's wifi password? Will he get the 100 tokens? This could become a real problem.

According to the whitepaper the app connects to the shared wifi without displaying the password to the user.

That is true, the app connects without displaying the password to the end user as can also be seen in our demo video.

But I think he is asking what happens when someone other than the owner of the WiFi uploads the password. Maybe a friend or a relative who has the password. So the way the app is designed, anybody having the password of any network can upload it and earn WiC. But to be on the correct side, we will have a point in our app's terms and conditions that when you upload any password you confirm that you are the owner of that WiFi or have express permission from the owner to upload it. If that is not the case the user is in violation of the terms and solely responsible for the actions he undertakes.
