Looking for the answer.
What is the "listen=" command in the Magi config?  When set to "listen=o" I have 2 may 3 active connections to the Magi network in my wallet.  When changed to "listen=1", I have 10-13 active connections.  I saw it mentioned her to have it set to 0.  What is the correct answer, what does the command do?  Thanks in advance

listen=  is used to allow or restrict which other nodes in the network your wallet can connect to.

With "listen=0" you will only connect and listen to any node specified in your magi.conf file

At the moment most people have "listen=0" and only a single "connect" entry of "connect=104.128.225.215"
This address is the "master" node (master in this case being Joe's the Developers node) their wallets will only send/receive block information from that single node.

The problems this past 10 days or so was due to a split in the blockchain and so having a single node for everyone to connect to helped get everyone back on the correct chain.

Thank you for a very easy to understand answer!  Much appreciated.

for solo mining with other miner not the wallet miner you need to set listen=1 and rpcallowip=127.0.0.1 ans rpcuser=someuser , rpcpassword=someuser'spassword in your magi.conf file

Hmmm, There is a rule of 250k/h per user in pools but non of them follow it!
Isn't possible to ban high hashrate users? Or they don't like to do it?

At the moment there is no way to force pools for this.

-----------------------------------------------------------------
I strictly think pool's total hashrate should be targetted instead of targetting individual hashrate,
but for that you will need centralization in some form which is not a virtue of crypto currencies which totally depend on blockchain, which is decentralized in its essence.

Hi all,

Is POS not an option anymore in the new wallet? v1.4.6.2? i have enabled pos in the .conf file but it just keeps saying "not staking because you don't have enough weight"
Wit the old wallet POS worked fine. i have 121 coins in the wallet.
just wait for a few hundred blocks more you will see your weight increasing.

good to hear about the wallet.dat, you'd be surprised at the number of people who have accidentally deleted it over the years - including people with hundreds of BTC

Hi, Did you try running checkwallet and repairwallet on your wallet - that's usually the issue after re-syncing the chain

For that reason i set up my wallet on a newly fresh installed windows system with the newest wallet. Still nope. Coins are gone and so my hopes.

Also, check your balance in a block explorer to see if the blocks you generated were actually committed to the blockchain - there have been a few forked chains lately, if you were mining on a forked chain then the XMG would not have been legitimate.

I have no idea how that works and i have to admit that i am new to mining etc. How can i check the block etc.?

Did you have a backed-up wallet.dat file from your previous wallet? without that you have no way of getting your coins back
I lost 275 xmg that were genuine when I got the latest version of fork a few 40 xmg blocks Huh Angry Roll Eyes

Search your magi wallet address in here to check the balance
https://chainz.cryptoid.info/xmg/

Only shows my 3 payouts AFTER the chaos. The 22 Coins aren't listed.

Ps: I used of course my wallet.dat. Only a freh installed windows to be sure that i have the newest wallet version and right blockchain.

It could well be that the 22 conis were mined on an incorrect chain

Bad timing man. Everyone complains about things like this and you are advertising it 2 minutes later. Cheesy
as I said I provide upto 150 khps which is < 250 khps pool's mining hashrate limit per user. If you need a mining rig in near future dont build it yourself I will provide you much less coslty miners.

This rule varies from pool to pool. Every pool does it like they want it. PoM is doing it, but they also advertise they're limit on every site. Other pools don't block/bann high hashrate users.

Oh, I see.

>inb4 whales start solo-mining and start giving us a hard time finding blocks period

Edit: Is CryptoID finally back on the proper fork?

That's true.

After fork I made 1.2 XMG with my 100k hashrate but now I can get 0.2 xmg per day.

I got a feeling the number is wrong, my wallet is showing 217MH total. Still, it seems more like someone trying to make a point than an actual miner. Or maybe seeing if the hack will still work?

just dropped down to 21MH
