On HD7970 with intensyty -11 i have 40Khs without HW.

No worries, the card has some problems anyways (have to turn the core down to 800 in 3D games or the driver crashes, mining at 850 and higher is fine though) and made ROI at least five times. Still think i should build a rig with 5 used 5770 for 300€.

How much ram does your system have? I have 16gb so maybe thats why I can go so high. Every N change the memory needed to solve a hash increases so i guess its all connected some how.

Interestingly cgminer won't start at TC 10240, but raising it to 8000 indeed solved my HW errors issue. 
edit: nope just a bit less A:3 HW:2, playing with TC now.
Had it at 5120 before, after the last n change the card didn't accept many TC values at all.
edit: 8096 and 8192 seem to be good.

My 5770 seems to be ok at -I 10 like you said, core 950 mem 1250 --worksize 64 --lookup-gap 2 -I 10 --thread-concurrency 10240. no HW errors so far, 13.26 kh/s. at -I 11 it was 16 kh/s with a ton of hw's 
When I lower the intensity on the 7970 the drop is like 20 kh/s though , way too much... working on that.

Well my 5770 gets 12.25Kh (half a 7970! ), A:15 HW: 87 after 10 minutes, seems like the HW errors can be ignored for now (at least at I 10).

All 3 of my gpus work, it's just they don't work at the intended speed (HW every 3 secs ). My 7970 was getting 110 kh/s before N change (-w 256 --lookup-gap 2 -I 13 --thread-concurrency 32832 -g 1), as the change happened it went down to 50 kh/s. Once restarted the miner the only stable speed is 25 kh/s (-i 12). This happens every n change , it's all me being a stupid mother fucker!.

So no one's GPU is working? Did you try Intensity 10 (only way my card worked after last n change)?
Maybe HW errors can be ignored since the miner still delivers accepted shares. (A2 HW 8 this try)

I know the 5xxx were not ment to be that great this N change though 
my 5770 was the last to try, i just want to get my 7970 up and going first, then the 5770....and maybe the 5570 (max on that atm in 6 kh/s lol)
Even on intensity 10 my 5770 gets lots of HW errors (A 1, HW 20). 
Guess I'm not alone, the hash rate at my p2pool node is a quarter of what it was before the n change, probably only CPUs are left.

My 5850's are getting about 50 KH/S each. Weak, but I'm still pleased.
That's pretty good I would say! I'm running my 5870 at stock speeds and I'm right about 51 KH/sec.

I'm reinstalling my system soon, should be able to improve performance noticeably.
