I've owned zcl for awhile now - pre bitcoin private. I find it amusing it's mooning now b/c of bitcoin private but happy it is. Can someone please enlighten me why btcp is better than XMR or ZEC, or any other zk-snark coin -- like bitcoinZ. Be objective.
bitcoinZ is equihash, I believe btcp will be sha256 with zk-snarks combining both in a way that is new. Maybe it's been done before and I just don't know it.

It's a 1:1 match. If you have .5 ZCL when they do the snapshot on Feb 28th you'll get .5 BTCP once the project goes live. Likewise any BTC you have in a private wallet will also be matched 1:1 with BTCP.

yes, when hard fork happens, snapshot for all ZCL and BTC will happen. Anyone with a ZCL or BTC in a supported wallet or stock will get Bitcoin Private (BTCP) with a 1: 1 ratio. For example, if you have 5 ZCL and 0.1 BTC, you will receive 5.1 BTCP.So I was wondering, how exactly are they going to merge Bitcoin and zclassic UTXO's in the new chain.

Looks like the price finally started moving due to the upcoming Bitcoin and Zclass fork into Bitcoin private. I am curious, where the price will be just before the fork on February 28.
Bitcoin.com also made a positive post just yesterday regarding the fork. As far as I understood, the development of Zclass will stop and move to Bitcoin private after that.

Why the current pump?
Do you are not aware of Bitcoin Private? Those who hold 1 ZCL and/or 1 BTC by the 28th of that month will receive 1 BTCP, many talented people are working on BTCP, moreover, possibly continuity in ZCL will transfer to BTCP, however ZCL will still exist without a destination to the right. This Coin kinda needs more marketing. It's the same as Zcash tho without the 20% founders Tax, still it's lower than Zcash. It's all about the traders mood...
It's also zcash without the devs, it's normal to be lower.
Like Ethereum classic is lower than Ethereum, Bcash is lower than Bitcoin.
