Hi everyone,

Got a few questions regarding the fork:
Snapshot and fork date have been officially announced.
1. Do I understand it right in saying that both BTC and ZCL coins owner will get BTCP coins at the time of the fork?
2. What will be the ratio? 1ZCL for 1BTCP and 1BTC  for 1BTCP?
3. Will my ZCL wallet need to be online/synched at the time of the snapshot? else how would they know how many ZCL i own? same Q goes for BTC, no need for external wallet here?
4. One can expect a surge in ZCL and BTC price around the time of the snapshot...?

thx

1. yes
2. yes
3. no to needing to be 'online' (the blockchain will record all-the -things), but your ZCL/BTC will need to be at an address you control (in a wallet or on an exchange that will support the fork - just get it into a wallet you control the keys for, that's safest)
4. one can expect a surge or a drop or both

Mac Wallet is working and I was able to import my private key, as well as setup encryption.  The fiat options don't appear to be working yet, but I'll take what I can get considering I was running the java swing wallet in a Windoz vm until today.  Great work!!!

Yes probably. Do you guys think the better strategy would be to sell just before the fork and just buy Bitcoin Private at the beginning, or wait after the snapshot and hope the price fall will be lower than the starting price for BTCP ?

As far as im concerned when trading/buying zcl just now it is actually btcp futures we're trading, if the fork was taking place tomorrow the price would be double what it is just now, imo at least

as for your question its a gd one and one i dont know the answer too, mabye folks who have lived through these moments more than me could offer more valuble opinions

cheers

That's what a "watching" wallet does: it watches the address but doesn't allow you to make any transactions. If you want to transact, create a regular wallet, not a watch-only. The rest of the process would be same, import private key etc.

Hmmm, I don't know what I'am doing wrong with it .

I think it's not possible with this one https://github.com/BTCP-community/electrum-zcl/releases/tag/Z!1.0.0

It's working! With the privatekey and NOT the address.

I just sent the small amount of zcl to cryptopia and it's working.

Thank you  Wink

Glad you got it working. Let us know if you need further help. An active and helping community is ZCL/BTCP's biggest strength.

hi guys, I`m new to ZCL and a bit confused on the wallet.
In the first page it says that win wallet is not yet available, website says the same but in the latest discussion i see that electrum wallet is available.
So where is the truth? Smiley

The Electrum wallet is available now. The first page of this topic is not updated. Go ahead and try the Electrum wallet, I'm sure it works fine.

Make sure you pay attention to the twitter feeds: https://twitter.com/zclassiccoin

Rhett is on stage in Austin right now.
Snapshot date 2/28/18

That means that we can sell on 1st of March and having deposited Bitcoin Private in our wallets anyway, right?

Make sure you have it for the snapshot. Most of the people are going to sell it after the snapshot so if you can sell before everyone else you should get a decent price.

!! HODL !!
......

Or do I have to wait till the fork and I get BTCP on my paperwallet?

Paper wallets are generally used for long-term investment (when you just want to HODL the coin for long term and don't want to spend them in near future). That saves you from installing a fully-functional wallet and from having to download the entire blockchain data to your computer.

That said, your ZCL are safe and you'll also get 3.28 BTCP for that. You don't have to do anything yet.

However if you want to spend or transfer your ZCL now, I can help you run the Swing wallet.

Thank you all...

I have installed latest electrum wallet, import address, I see my zcl... but I can not send it, it's watching only wallet.

Here's a quick summary of the 4 people that posted actual results in the last 2 pages of this thread.

Suprnova | 3600 sol/s | .205 ZCL per 24 hours | 0.000057 ZCL per sol in 24 hours | Shitnoff
MPH | 5300 sol/s | .275 ZCL per 24 hours | 0.000052 ZCL per sol in 24 hours | MrTDHP
MPH | 4800 sol/s | .226 ZCL per 24 hours | 0.000047 ZCL per sol in 24 hours | dempsey1200
MPH | 25000 sol/s | 1.50 ZCL per 24 hours | 0.000060 ZCL per sol in 24 hours | amalkey

Obviously, this isn't enough data to come to any meaningful conclusions but there's quite a disparity in efficiency.  The only thing I can think of is using different mining programs and maybe timing of some block awards.  I might try out Suprnova pretty soon.

I wrote a paper on Bitcoin, trying to gauge the value of total crypto over the next few years. I found the range could vary widely from 1.6 to 5 trillion. With BTCP as a top 10 coin, that could imply a market value of 300 to 500 billion, with a per coin value of 15 to 20k? Any thoughts from anyone else on coin value 5 years from now?

You really planning to hold it that long? May be equal amount of BTC will outperform BTCP in 4 years so you never know. May be it is better strategy to buy BTC and hold. But as I wrote in another post here, my very speculative guess is 1000$ (500$ at least) by the end of the year 2018.So say if you holding equal amount of BTC (1 BTC) and ~74 ((ZCL)BTCP), then if BTC is not 37k (at least) by the end of the year, then you done a good job. BTCP is technically better than BCH,BTG and has privacy feature. And I think a LOT of people will eventually move to this anon-coins because of the regulatory trend that is inevitable. But in 5 years.Hell man. It may be 10k,but then BTC might be 100-200k. But then you getting 740k in years by holding BTCP and only 100-200k by holding equal BTC.It is really hard to tell which coins are to HODL long term, but one thing at the beginning of the year is evident - care ZCL and claim your BTCP. This thing is going to capture top 20 sooner or later. Either people want it or not.
