Acknowledging issues in a timely manner and sharing through a structured update, as well as engaging community to alleviate and overcome these issues shows otherwise.
It's just that no one is looking to take a hiccup or delay and everyone is looking into instant gratification, which is understandable of course, but doesn't nullify other arguments.

People are attempting to manipulate the hysteria sell-off even more to buy at a lower price point, intensified by the effect of shrinking markets today.
There isn't anything wrong with the released statement, sure a delay of 4 weeks can be disappointing to those looking for immediate gain, however at the same time there's sound argumentation as to the reasons for this delay (more thorough testing, added exchange support for this fork amongst others, clear initiatives on how to reach that). Therefore it shows clearly:

a) Maturity of the dev team
b) Elimination of any contingencies related to the hardfork
c) Added support of exchanges, therefore significantly better launch / wider spread volume, which in turn will result to augmented value.

or for some people, it shows clearly:

1- Immaturity and incompetence of the dev team
2- ZCL was a shitcoin and therefore the fork will also be a shitcoin (see point 1-)

Right ?

top posting is so pathetic...

I agree with DES on everything they said. Been watching the developments from both the forums and their respective tweeter feeds. It's nice to see the communication, although it would be nice to know about more exchange support, but I will still hold it for the fork. Not sure what top posting is all about and why it's pathetic but to each has it's own opinion I guess.

My biggest concern is that they are asking for help with contacts to large exchanges to get BTCP listed. Exchanges should be contacting them for this opportunity if they see the potential with the project. For the team to not have contacts at the exchanges tells me that they don’t have the respect in the industry that I thought they had.  Now they are asking for miner donations to afford BTCP listing.

I have looked into the document released by ZCL/BTCP team. I understand they are delaying the fork dates as they are going through the difficult phase to cover all the testing and other stuff. I don't see any issue in holding ZCL for bit more time.

Not sure if I am missing anything which I am unable to spot on?

there is no team rofl

its just one person who saw zcash and made their own because they wanted "to make world of warcraft but better"
hahahahahah

This is beyond pathetic FUD. There's multiple spokespersons on twitter and many devs committing.

read first post past "Note from developer:" and see for urself Y O Y

LOL that note is there from 4 days after zclassic launched. Not to mention it goes to say that the coin has become a community project.

Now that the coin is live, most of what you see above is work done by the community.  This coin is almost 4 days old, and I'm amazed at what we've done so far.

I read both opinions and I would like to add that ZCL was much lower than ZEN not long ago. It only overcame in price because of the fork. If the fork doesn't take place we are probably going to see ZCL below Zencash once more.

see through the disparaging comments and fud folks, IF this token makes it to the fork with the team behind it, it will be at least triple its current value, dont be weak handed and sell u will only regret it later, infact at these prices folks should be snapping them up

thats typical of cryptoland that the fact u have to wait a few weeks sends the price down, in this current btc climate i see zclassic/btcp as a safe haven for my cash

time will tell whether im right or wrong

Yeah, I'd tend to agree. BTCP announcement thread was started only a couple weeks ago, on Jan 2nd:

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/ann-btcp-bitcoinprivate-a-truly-private-bitcoin-equihash-2675257

Considering this type of ledger merger is fairly unique it looks like development is proceeding just fine imo.

This, complicated protocol and various clients just can't be properly tested and launched into production with a couple of weeks.

I have no idea why price is falling, but I am happy and buying on the dips. The team seems dedicated and honest, I am sure they will launch BTCP as promised, there's no reason not to. After all this is based on existing, open source technologies, there should be no surprises in store.

I heard Bittrex is delisting BitcoinDark as it's going to be largely redundant and conflicting in name to Bitcoin Private when it launches.
