I think that it's high time to introduce scrypt-n and X11 coins to clever mining. These currencies show some good profits. Scrypt only coins start to struggle already.

I like the idea of adding SCRYPT-N and/or X11!
I support the X11 introduction as well.

A lot of people have been saying that.
What you must understand, is that you can't simply "add coins" of another algorithm into a scrypt pool.
CleverMining would have to have seperate pools: CleverMining Scrypt, CleverMining Scrypt-N, and CleverMining X11.
You simply cannot switch between different algorithms using the same miner. If you are mining Scrypt and a X11 coin is the most profitable, CleverMining cannot make your miner switch algorithm.

Terk hasn't even properly finished programming the current pool.

You are absolutely correct! I have no idea how difficult it is to set up a second pool for lets say SCRYPT-N in parallel to the existing Pool. Maybe the program code for determining the most profitable coin at the moment could be re-used for SCRYPT-N? I kind of like the idea to mine Vertcoin for example and get auto-paid in BTC. As far as I know no pool offers this at the moment.... this would be a unique feature  Smiley

@Terk: I am fairly new to mining (around 1 month) and would like to take the opportunity to say thank you for your pool! I tried a lot pools during the last month but I most enjoy mining here!

coin solver does this already but the profit is way less than scrypt so its not worth it currently  , could be they are just bad at choosing the most profitable scryp-n coin so terk might have an advantage here.

Not so sure about _way_ less then scrypt. I've been getting around what I would be getting on scrypt at the CoinSolver Scrypt-N beta pool.. Look here for more information about it. If you check out www.whatmine.com the #3 & #6 Coins on there are most profitable are Scrypt-N coins, being SPA and GPU.

How many scrypt-n coins do you think there are? You also have to exchange these, so they have to have volume at the markets. Just because it says its profitable doesn't mean you can actually sell at that price.

Also, the hash is low so they can't mine VTC yet.

Well something seems to be wrong. can't really have bad luck for 2 days in a row with LTC blocks.

Terk, how's the new update coming? We gonna get over 100% profitability any time soon?  Undecided

Yup..  WP kicking ass..  Heading there now..

If you guys are looking to mine Scrypt-N, now appears to be a good time. Not much money in pure Scrypt anymore.

We have a small Vertcoin pool, you are welcome to check it out.   Smiley

April 9, 2014 partial results after 19 hours: 0.00293 BTC/day per MH/s (70% LTC)
Ouch, I just can't do this anymore with continuously declining profits, gonna have to stick with mining scrypt-N coins and just hold while hoping they skyrocket in the future.

Thats alot of hassle, if Terk goes down that way, it'd prolly be best if he just make a different pool for X11 or whatever. I'm not too fond of Scrypt-n. I'm expecting something potent to come by before the ASIC come parading down.

I have a fail-over script that could let me specify which algorithm to load for different address, so if the pool simply kick the miner, it'd failover to the new algo, but that would just not work for many, many reasons.

It's not the wrong thread as long as we are discussing what the implementation of new scrypts in a pool imply. There are several people who would want multi-scrypt pools and Terk might be able to pull this one if we insist.

Yeah. But to have a miner that can easily switch between coin algorithms has nothing to do with Terk.
That has more to do with the developers of SGMiner and such.
Again, if you can code, try coding the implementation I suggested into CGWatcher, and add a CGWatcher API.

I understand we can't switch other algorithms on a whim at the moment, but maybe devs should be looking into making a new miner that can support switching between several algorithms. I've seen SGMiner supports different kernels for normal scrypt and X11 scrypt, can it be that hard to code a miner that incorporates the most profitable algorithms?

I suppose it isn't too difficult to code CGWatcher, simply make its "profitable coin" chooser more accurate and fetch it from CoinWarz or WhatMine, and you could implement profiles with different settings and miners.

Wrong thread anyway, go start a new thread.

scrypt-n would bring me back
making .003 per MH isn't paying the bills to keep the miner running Wink

I too mine with Gridseeds (on a rasp pi) and get over 14% rejects on this pool where as I get no rejects on others.  If there's any information you need just shoot me a PM and I'd be happy to help.

Guys, Terk specifically said that the REJECTS RATE is much lower than the miner program reports on the upper line and that is caused by a communication issue between the stratum and the miner. Untracked rejects are accounted for by the pool, only JOB NOT FOUND rejects are real rejects and these last ones are around 1-2% max.

Somebody needs to put this in the OP and in the FAQs on the pool site so people understand what's going on. Also, Terk said he's working on a new stratum server and this rejects display error won't be featured there.

We had some very bad luck with LTC mining today - we found only 70% of number of blocks which we expected to find based on amount of hashrate pointed at LTC. With lower hashrate today than in recent days, variance has more impact. As it always is with variance, our luck will change and we will probably get more than average luck very soon.

Also, I am working today on some changes allowing us for smarter splitting of hashrate, so that we will go back to mining some very small coins which we stopped mining few weeks ago. These small coins were totally unprofitable during this time, but some of them started to be profitable in recent days so it's worth to include them again - we just need to be very careful with amount of hashpower sent their way as they can't handle much. With improved hashrate splitting algorithm which will go live tonight, we will be able to do this and it will boost our profitability a bit. I'm testing it on a dev server and will deploy it to production tonight.

If you guys believe that, I have a bridge for sale.  Will accept cash or bitcoin.

And what happened last week when WP did this?Huh??
