Still doesn't work with the latest release downloaded and install after removing the previous install (just left the key in there which really should make zero difference).

Wallet says active version: 4.2.4.0 in red with latest version: 4.2.4.3  Huh

4.2.4.4 is a pre-release, as you can see on github, please use the previous one.

I can't "Send" coins now.

- unlocked the wallet
- hit "Send"
- dialog pops up, cannot edit any values

Am I missing something?

You need to edit the values before you click "Send"

How does one attempt to edit the values other than moving the cursor around in the pre-filled form and whitespace? It doesn't allow an insert or I'd change them and then click Send...... that's the problem.

4.2.4.4 - 10th of May 2018

-Light wallet now automatically connects to predefined nodes if local node is not running
    -Wallet key generation fixed
-Minor text changes, code reorganization, bug fixes
-Removed time tolerance for mempool future transactions
    -Verification function upgraded

What does this mean? Is there a going to be a problem if you created a wallet with the previous version?

*opens Bismuth wallet after a couple weeks*

Oh, nothing is working.

*upgrades to latest wallet released 2hrs ago*

Oh, database needs upgrading.

*waiting on new bootstrap, waiting...*

Everybody loves active development, but at some point the user experience could be better prioritized...

does it work or not?

i always delete the old version(i do have a backup of wallet) then download and install the new one. works everytime for me.

I got the same problem when I upgraded from v4.2.3.7 to v4.2.4. Deleted BIS from PC completely. Make a fresh install for latest wallet. Restore wallet/keys. Problem solved.

I'll try that.. this makes my point exactly that a user shouldn't have clean their system manually just to get the wallet to function after upgrades. Just some feedback from the community in hopes that it affects devs task prioritization.

is it possible to have a BIS wallet without running a node? Light wallet download somewhere?

edit: have used the wallet.py download on github, but seems like problems. my virus scanner tells me there's viruses in wallet.exe and virustotal.com tell me the same. Any proof there is none?

In the upcoming version of the wallet you won't need the node running on your machine.

As for your virus alert, for sure is a false positive alert. Here is the virustotal scan 0/64: https://www.virustotal.com/ro/file/c85ad09115034cad4dffcc946d075b298f00832479095091d73c6898f261fa52/analysis/1525866474/

Maybe better to ask this kind of question in discord group?

Hello to everyone! Could you please advise about scalability of BIS? Thanks.

Can you be more precise?
What is your use case, what scale are you refering to?

I mean, how many transaction per second can handle BIS ?

Well, this metric is only useful for the currency use case I think.
Some coins are specifically targeting a huge tx throughput.
This is not an ultimate goal.
For Bismuth, see point 7 https://steemit.com/cryptocurrency/@aetsen/bismuth-developer-interview-hclivess
(but Having an insane amount of tx per second is not a current bismuth goal)

What's more interesting is why you would need a huge tx throughput.
apart for mainstream currency use (which is just one small use case for a blockchain platform), this is not a real concern, at least atm.

If what you want before all (but you'll have to tell why, because it will come at the expanse of other metrics, or safety, or decentralization, or features) is a huge tx throughput,
then blockchains are not the best fit. Look into DAG instead.

As far as Bismuth is concerned, the core thing is that it's not built upon an existing protocol/platform with fixed limits.
Bismuth is a new protocol/platform, from scratch, evolving.
And it's evolving fast, with priorities shifting fast ,also.
What I mean, is that atm, tx throughput is not an issue, far from that.
So this is not a current dev priority and the metric makes no sense: it's more than the current usage requires, so the real metric is irrelevant.
IF (and only IF) it becomes an issue, then the team has many ways to answer the problems, and they will come quick.
Some work already is done, or under work, to reduce tx related bandwidth usage for instance.

Then, wait until you see what we have in our bag for Masternodes technology.
This tech could be used way further to offload a lot of tx, storage, bandwidth from the main chain, and that, will be a real game changer, way more than a single metric.

Thanks for clear explantion!

Looks like very promissing project. Just need to clarify for myself, usecases and advantages of BIS? Is there any simple description ( as I am not tech guy ) of BIS advantages compared with others crypto? Like, some projects make simple comparing table, there you can see superiority of current project compared to other Big players ? Thanks

One little question and please you don't think I'm eager and I konw it isn't the only task you are working, but there is one thing I cna't undestand... one week testnet rewards are still pending... There are only 36 addresses on Tier II... what kind of checking do you need to go forward with rewards, could I send you anything to speed the process... there are people that have been paid and other we don't have anyclue of what could we do to help and check the addresses...

I think, as me, there are other people marked as green... that mean with a verified address, so, please... could you tell us how could help you?

Thanks in advance

If you go back a little, there is a specific thread linked for testnet rewards, I think it's better to ask directly there.

I know, I asked there before but I didn't get answer so I'm trying here  Huh

I sent a PM to hclivess and verified my address again. I also left my node and GUI wallet open. I never got a written response from him, but my reward was in my wallet soon after he was shown as active on Bitcointalk.(He doesn't check everyday.) Not sure if that is the trick, but I did get my coins.

Thank you... I'll try  Wink
