Blocknet Devs premined the new chain to allocate themselves over 100k BLOCK "Backpay". More than $2.5m At current prices.
Thank you for letting us know! That's about 2,5% of all BLOCKs. That is a lot, but some reward for the Dev is surely appropriate.

So what exactly does this mean? Is this common practice? Did they announce this to the community? Just curious.
Usually a coin is either premined or it isn't. Now that Blocknet moves to a new blockchain this is a chance for the dev to chance some things, just like a premine. A movement to a new blockchain ("production chain") isn't usual , but a premine is for some coins, because the dev team works on the coin fulltime and needs and deserves some money for it. Yes, he did announce it to the community with releasing the production chain sheet and writing the premine into the sheet. Also many Coins do a premine 10%<, so 2,5% is less than the usual.

I'd like to buy some BLOCK because i really believe this to become huge, but I want to buy it on the Blocknet decentralized exchange, not on Bittrex or NovaExchange. Is this possible or do we need to buy some block before we can use the decentralized exchange?
Is this exchange already available or is that the part that is going live on Friday?

Blocknet is the next 1B cap coin. Mark my words  Wink

If HF will happen on time than it will continue to grow more strong I also really impressed to see the current progress of testing with some other coins. All investors would like to see this coin on more high position.

I can't wait to place a 100 BTC buy order wall on my favorite coin knowing I don't have to fear a centralized exchange "mishandling" it.

I see the potential for massive orders being traded - the likes of which centralized exchanges could only dream of.

And when traders come to understand that this can incorporate a trustless decentralized fiat gateway where fees are dictated by the 'direct' counterparty rather than a middleman, then it's game over!! Grin

Will blocknet have offline trading, limit orders or it will just be manual orders like the others dex?

From the slack:

If I'm not mistaken, the context of this is an article about how (primitive) decentralized exchanges lack limit orders and are more like OTC or barter markets.
I believe that limit and market orders are fully implementable over the Blocknet, which, unlike Etherdelta, does not put orders on a blockchain, and thus may implement fast, complex order-matching logic to run upon the order book. You can expect such logic to be implemented on the Blocknet.

The devs view offline trading as a key feature.  They have said this so I am sure it will arrive in due course.  Smiley

I wish you all love and profitable investments!!!
Launch is planned for the first of september as far as I know.

I wonder if there even will be BLOCK for sale left by then

I doubt many will try to sell their BLOCKs given the huge long term potential it has.

only 50.000 / 10 service nodes left for sale! thats under 1.5% of the total available supply...

crazy!

Huh! 3 days left.)))

in my honest opinion if blocknet had a much cooler name then the FOMO would be crazy.

But this one has more beauty inside compared to a lot of well marketed coins.

Blocknet is a great name

Current list is: BAY BTC BLK BLOCK DASH DGB DOGE DYN PIVX LTC MUE NMC SYS VTC VIA BRK BRX ETH NLG QTUM DCR POT PPC

Videos of various trading pairs on the test net: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCCDBoR9fHb21bLH7FGvFrQg
So 23 coins so far?

Those are just the tested ones.   Most coins that support BIP65 and JSON-RPC should work.

Ethereum and ERC20 tokens will work in conjunction with the 0x protocol (as well as Ethfinex in the near future)

Do you know if Zcash, Momero and Lisk will be on DEX?

I heard about blocknet on reddit a week but couldn't find any detailed information. Now I have stumbled upon this thread and their website.

Sounds great, just wish I had bought in before this massive spike

I fear that buying the rumor of the wallet might leave me holding a bag come next week
