stop comparing this to vertcoin, this is much better and a real scrypt-jane with rising nfactor. next nfactor change is in about 5 days!

My CGminer shows that I am hashing at a rate of 335.6 MH/s.  With Vertminer i'm at about 180kH/s.  Something doesn't seem right.  Does the cgminer properly report hash rate?

vertcoin doesn't use scrypt-jane at all. You will get about 75% of what you were getting with regular scrypt with a scrypt-jane coin. So ultracoin will give you the same hashrate as cachecoin. Also, vertcoin usually gives you 50%/ I don't understand wtf a pool needs two freaking days for over 500 confirmations. Why is this? Stupid as hell considering the pool could just close and steal a fortune in coins.
The network requires 520 confirms for the payout to mature. Use P2Pool if you want payout every block. But you'll still need to wait the 520 confirms in your wallet in order to spend the coins

What card...

I don't think the N factor for Vert and CACH are the same so hash rates will differ.

Important Notice

due to hashrate increase we are forced to make sure that the network is evenly distributed. Please if you have mining power over >200kh/s please consider joinen one of the p2p nodes

All of them can be found here: http://q30.qhor.net:8337/

For easy start, just type the following in your cgminer
Code:
cgminer.exe --scrypt-jane --sj-nfmin 4 --sj-nfmax 30 --sj-time 1388949883 -o http://cache.cryptoprojects.eu:8336/ -u -p x -o http://p2pool.cachecoin.org:8336/ -u -p x

or for yacminer compiled against cachecoin ( https://github.com/Sykh/cacheminer )
Code:
./yacminer -o http://cache.cryptoprojects.eu:8336/ -u -p x -o http://p2pool.cachecoin.org:8336/ -u -p x

Please consider adding more pools as backup for failsafe.

List with pools for easy acces
Code:
http://cache.cryptoprojects.eu:8336
http://p2cache.syware.de:8336/static/
http://p2pool.cachecoin.org:8336/
http://q30.qhor.net:8336

Your payouts will go straight to your wallet and be available after 520 confirms for a mined block

in the meantime I am working together with singula to resolve the issues I had last night on the pool, secure it and hopefully reopen a second mining pool

If you want to help the network, please also considering in setting up your own p2pool node:

Install it from source here:
https://github.com/Sykh/p2pool-cache

Basic instructions:
Code:
compile or have a valid cachecoind running - or cachecoin.qt

git clone https://github.com/Sykh/p2pool-cache
python run_p2pool.py --give-author 0

You can then see in the command line if it is running and connecting to the network. You can connect to your own node als following:

Code:
./yacminer -o http://:8336/ -u -p x

pleas also set up a failover pool here just in case!

Going to attempt to compile Wallet for Mac...

Don't see what the issues are?

Prob no issues. Just never created a mac wallet with a gui.

The bounty is currently at .7 BTC, so hopefully someone will pick it up.

I tried but failed on Mac os 10.9. Please tell me how you did it if you suceed.

For windows I can not properly provide help - this miner should be working, make sure you include the proper command line options or provide them in cgminer config

Code:
cgminer.exe --scrypt-jane --sj-nfmin 4 --sj-nfmax 30 --sj-time 1388949883

For linux the easiest way is to use this miner from github https://github.com/Sykh/cacheminer

To install:
Code:
git clone https://github.com/Sykh/cacheminer
cd cacheminer
./autogen.sh
./configure
make

and for testing connect to p2pool with this line:

Code:
./yacminer -o http://cache.cryptoprojects.eu:8336 -u -p somehing

I can't see autogen.sh anywhere in the file?

The hashrate of 200kh/s is not set in stone - it might even be worthwhile to still mine with below 200kh/s on p2pools, but the lower it gets, the harder it is to submit a share to pplns and the variance you mentioned is quite high.
On a prop payout you should see more steady payout - you can check it in the block history how it works

I think you're about right though - 200kh/s seems to be the tipping point for it. Mining on a traditional pool now I'm seeing a much more stable return rate than I was with P2Pool with that same slower nVidia card.
It depends on the global network rate and p2pool network rate which defines the target p2pool shares.

currently things getting hot and i struggle with my 300kH/s, forcing me to upgrade my rigs or to move to a traditional pool.

on upcoming p2pool updates this will probably be improved. but we need to integrate cachecoin into the latest p2pool tree.
I'm throwing in 50 CACH for someone with python knowledge to get cachecoin working on this one: https://github.com/donSchoe/p2pool-vtc/commit/7c4115818a2731dbde4dd6ee0570ae9b3470e45e#commitcomment-5386322
