I just found out i had 13.8 CLAMS, is staking feasible with this amount?...
Move your mouse over the ticket icon on the bottom left corner of the clam client.  It will pop up a message on the expected stake time.

If the wallet has been emptied prior to claiming the risk is no different than importing any other random set of characters.

Also don't use that wallet again afterward. Most wallet.dat files include preallocated keys, so future use could (and likely would) involve private keys that were exposed to the clam importer.

This exactly. We usually recommend that you "empty and retire" your wallet before using it to claim CLAMs.

Doing so protects the CLAM developers as well as yourself. If you use your old BTC wallet to claim CLAMs, then continue to use it with the Bitcoin client afterwards and somehow manage to get your computer compromised and have your coins stolen, you'll never been 100% sure that the CLAM client didn't do something sneaky with the wallet you gave it. If instead you retire your old wallet and switch to a new one, you can't blame the CLAM client when your new wallet gets compromised.

Of course, if you're going to be downloading random executables from the Internet and running them on the same machine you use for your Bitcoin wallet, you're going to end up having your coins stolen anyway. But that's a separate issue, and more about practicing safe computing than anything about the trustworthiness of this particular client.

What are the risks putting your wallet.dat in the clam wallet?
Ani`t it a trick to steal your bitcoin/dodge or ltc wallets later on?

It isn't a "trick".

That said, we recommend that you move any balance in BTC, LTC or DOGE to a fresh wallet before importing the old wallet and make your claim.

The balance doesn't need to be in the wallet/chain at this present moment(only when the distribution happened), so why add additional exposure when it isn't required.

If the wallet has been emptied prior to claiming the risk is no different than importing any other random set of characters.

Are there any services online to check the status of the clam network?
Like the number of active nodes, their geographic location and other info...
Something like https://bitinfocharts.com/
http://blocktree.io/peers/CLAM/ ?
Thanks for the info!
But from what I see here, this site currently lists 49 active peers. My own clam client has 59 active connections atm. So this site is not measuring the number of all the nodes, just the ones it is currently connected to. (am I right?)
Am I missing something about the basics of the clams network, is it not possible to capture the number of all the active nodes? So in the same way that bitinfocharts displays the nodes of various coins, for example: https://bitinfocharts.com/blackcoin/nodes-active/
P.S. Sorry if this is a silly question Smiley

It is not an exact science, but there is no reason that one couldn't attempt to, and be reasonably successful at, listing a mostly comprehensive list of active nodes.

Ok, so at the moment there is no site like bitinfochars.com or getaddr.bitnodes.io for the clam network, that would give a rough overall picture of the size of the network.

I am just curious how big this network is...

This cryptocurrency is an interesting one, it is already widely used in gambling as I observed, while also in investing.

In fact most gambling sites offer CLAM based investing in their bankroll. So it is somewhat a gambling oriented coin.

There's also clamchecker.com. They have fee of 24%; for every 4.6 CLAM you claim you get 3.5 CLAM, they get 1.0 CLAM and the affiliate gets 0.1 CLAM. On Just-Dice for every 4.6 CLAM you claim you get 4.6 CLAM. The site takes off 0.001 CLAM for the transaction fee and you get the rest.

17% (ish) if you refer yourself for BTC.

That is hedging your bets against the CLAM market and still earning Bitcoins from a empty address.

If you just want to claim your clams, checkout the just-dice digging function. Worked faster for me!

Yeah, whoever made that site is a fricken genius.

Ha! I thought posters were supposed to use sock puppet accounts for replies like this. Wink Hmm. I've just noticed your avatar. Maybe you are your own sock puppet.

I thought it was common knowledge by now that doogs a satoshi sock Tongue. jk

ClamChecker still isn't complete yet.  Still a few edits to go.
