When someone use your code there is no sweeter acknowledge that you did very good job and everybody would like to be like you when they grow up. This Is actually nice PR for developer and its team. They can do with it what they want but success is reserved for main team.

To me if enigma works well and can be vetted by a couple of top devs that is all you need.
If the enigma engine is really a big improvement over dash and mixing/shuffling or is rather an advanced better process then you will simply witness 50 other cloaks in short order.
If you believe people are not investing because it is closed source then you might be wrong.

I share you thoughts but after 3 years closed source we decide to go open source way. Of cause there is always risk to be copy.
We choose this way and we will see what will happend.
There is always some points what speaking for open source and what speak against it.
PS: Dont forgert that we have very talented, smart and motivated fulltime device "Joe" i always belive in him and he proof me this 3 years that i was right with my hope in his talent. To copy a CODE is easy but it is not so easy to understand ENIGMA and i am sure there is not so many CODERs there like "Joe". So let enigma copy we are not worry about. We also plant to continue work on ENIGMA and new parts and projects in CODE. The copier would be always behind us.

My last suggestion and of course you guys must do as you wish. But just an idea that gives you all the benefits of going open source but not all of the negatives.
Obfuscate the open source code. Like bitbay. So that a lot of nonsense and jibberish is also all over the place and so difficult for coders to understand it.
So people can build from the source
analyse the source for malicious code
get and idea how the code works
but almost impossible to modify and clone.
It is really open source but it is so difficult to clone then and modify.
Anyway of course you must do as you guys choose best for cloak

If he created completely new code as you are claiming than we do not have anything to worry. Nobody knows how will people react, this is unpredictable. But decision is totally correct and it stands hand in hadn with decentralization, no secrets. Code must be open and this is fact. Our hopes lies now on others ability to recognize code value.

Today, while walking my dog, I have met some friends of my son who know that I trade with BTCs and have been attracted by the bitcoin rally and I have been asked advice about buying cryptocoins.

I have advised you to buy small amounts because of the risk involved in any investment in crypto.

You make some very good points. I agree that if it could be vetted, it may be better than open sourcing the code and having the technology stolen.

I was thinking it would build up some excitement.
Excitement exists, naturally more wouldn't be good for heart.. It would also spread news about cloak coin and make people more aware.
Why would it be bad?
We need to leave behind us everything related to building pressures and making suitable conditions for pump. After code reveal this will happen naturally or will not happen at all, market will decide. Every kind of manipulation with this will be punished with lowering of interes imediatly affter dump happend. Why would it be bad?

Really can't see any reason for this other than misguided price speculation. The "devs" will publish it when, and where, they see fit I'm sure.
