** BREAKING NEWS **   Grin

Update from nemgun in slack:

Hi guys, Nemgun here.
Sorry for the absence of the last week, I had to move out, i didn't noticed but i loosed a lot of positive ways, actually i am totally boosted, the rhythm tired me a bit, i stayed like 8 months in the same place. Now moved out, ready for new performances.
I will organize all of this and announce the new updates once ready

In order to give you an overview of what is coming in the few days.
- Veserus is almost done, so NVO will soon be listed there.
- The cluster is going to be delivered soon, the company preparing the configuration is almost ready to deliver them, then will come a small setup phase and benchmarking
- Once done, we will connect the wallet to the cluster which will provide a far more stable env, linking Veserus to the wallet to enable quick exchange
- Ton had the great idea of making a centralized social media design, this project will be decentralized in the future, once we have more time, but it will definitly a great addition for NVO
Please share the updates, especially BTCT (plz) i am overcrowded for now, Thanks guys

I have just put very good 'NEW' update out on reddit regarding the project and i highly recommend giving it a read

https://www.reddit.com/r/NVO/comments/7vq0xo/nvo_veserus_project_news_updates_part_2/

Many good news!

Just one note:

- The project of this CEX (Veserus) was started in late 2016 as can be seen here:

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/veserus-new-exchange-platform-ico-ipo-cf-specialisation-recruitment-1694003

It seems that he was stopped for lack of funds or anything else (mere supposition of mine). The development of CEX (Veserus) has been logically resumed with funds from ICO NVO.

So I do not think CEX is that secondary. It makes me believe that it was something planned, not that it's something bad, both projects have to win.
I can see where you're coming from but if this were to be true, they wouldn't have waited till  last minute to start working with  veserus again. they aren't even advertising veserus anywhere,  so far i've really been the only one to publicly talk about veserus and im not team. the main focus isn't veserus as stated in the post on reddit,

I read your post on reddit, thanks for the update.

"I can see where you're coming from." I'm just a Token investor  Grin, and like every investor we have to question the progress of development.

I hope CEX comes out soon and leverages NVST, as we all want.

My understanding is that the original incarnation of Veserus was put aside in order to facilitate the NVO DEX. Since the future of crypto exchanges looks to be distributed, it was a wise move to ensure they weren't building something that would be replaced in short order. Instead, Nemgun joined the NVO team and focused on the new distributed exchange technology.

At this point, the story gets a little long and boring, but the short version is that they realized a short-term CEX was needed to provide liquidity for the NVST token, and some other things also happened that eventually made resurrecting Veserus the easiest path forward to solve a number of problems simultaneously.  The short-term aspect of the resurrected Veserus project was expanded, and Veserus will now (apparently) be a permanent part of the NVO ecosystem, funneling users, and potentially trades, into the NVO DEX.

Thanks for the clarifications. It can also be seen this way.

"Get a perspective about the market! The price of Bitcoin today is still higher than it was just three months ago! In a long term view, Bicoin is still climbing. Forget about these short term ups and downs. If you are a short term investor, you need to get real"
OK ... You are a hard sell crowd. Then let me show you a different perspective
Bitcoin does this every year at this time:

Really every beginning of the year the price of bitcoin decreases. But this time the correction was sharper, came many new people in the market who did not know these corrections and poured all in panic, too much bad news (FUD) from the Asian markets (India, South Korea and China). With China wanting to block access to foreign exchange in its territory, it could make the situation much worse in the future. Remaining only the p2p, for the chinese. Although this blocking is very difficult to be implemented in the short term.

Who crashed the NVST price? -_- It was perfect at $4+
Hope those people will regret when the DEX will be out
Have you seen the XCP and BTC charts lately? This is not an NVST crash, this is what it looks like when the whole market is attacked by a sleuth of bears.

And I'm not normally one to support schadenfreude, but I'm sure they will feel some regret once things normalize and the DEX is operational and pumping out dividends. Personally, I hope that everyone who would be negatively affected by missing out would be able to get back in before they feel too bad about the whole thing.

What is NVO Coin?
In NVO Coin is a decentralized trading platform for crypto currencies which have a special focus on the safety of trade places.

I'm a fan of NVO, but the fact of the matter is that everyone and their grandmother are now creating their own DEX. The longer it takes for NVO to launch, the less of an impact that it will have in the market space. Currently, we have Flyp.me, which is a decentralized exchange that has been up and running since August. They are still relatively unknown, but they're gaining more volume each month. The only way that NVO succeeds is if there is continued exponential demand for cryptocurrencies.

It looks like a new exchange gets launched every week and some of them will offer fiat to crypto exchange. The more time that passes, the less of an impact NVO will have when it eventually launches. Just my 2 cents.
Well, considering my grandmother would have a hard time understanding how to turn on a computer, let alone know what crypto is, let alone how to set up a DEX, and assuming that most grandmothers are in a similar situation to my own, I'm pretty sure the quality level of all of these grandmothers' DEXes is nothing to worry about compared to the complexity of the NVO DEX.

As for flyp.me, it relies on other centralized exchanges to perform a trade, holds funds in a centralized wallet to facilitate trades, and sends centralized funds programmatically once your own funds are transmitted on the blockchain. It is NOT a DEX. It's just a web front end (with an api) that allows you to trade using other exchanges' liquidity anonymously. That's it. You still must trust the flyp.me operators to perform the trade. Just like any other centralized exchange.
I guess that we can conclude that your grandmother isn't a candidate, but mine is. You may have a point about Flyp.me not being a DEX, but NEX definitely is. No matter how you slice it, NVO's novelty will be lost in a sea of DEXes about to be launched.
Let me know when your grandmother makes a DEX, then, I guess. I'm sure it will be world class.  Roll Eyes

I'll let your goalpost moving slide there, in order to point out that the draw of NVO isn't "novelty" - it's infinite extensibility through the cross-blockchain plugin system and pure counterparty protection. It's not about being first (although that's an enormous benefit), it's about being technologically superior. And, you're really not using very good examples to further your argument right now - NEX is only for use on the NEO chain. Hardly worth writing home about compared to a true cross-chain DEX that NVO aspires to be.

My grandmother will be launching her DEX next month. I'll update you when it goes live Cheesy

As for NVO and its competitors, only time will tell. I've invested a lot of money into this project, so I hope that it does well. We shall see in due time.

I really hope something happens with the NVO wallet.  I have tried so many times to sweep my several thousand NVST tokens using Counterpary without success.  I feel like a hostage to Counterparty and thus and NVST due to the problems with moving my tokens.
I trust you've tried the info here, right? https://counterpartytalk.org/t/sweep-private-keys-issue/2325/94

a hosted version is available at https://sweep.nvo.party/ - run by community member TSWR

I will give those two a chance tonight.  So far I have only tried using the Counterpary (and Coindaddy) main sites.  Thanks!
Very good, glad I could help Smiley

How come your project have last update in Github in june 2017?
Because having a public github repository is unnecessary at this stage. They have paid developers who don't need community input. Indeed, community input right now would probably slow development.

Additionally, certain technology is apparently patentable, and the dev team wants to secure a patent before making the affected technology public - at minimum, they want a professional code audit before release. All of those things taken together means no public repository for now.
