Is it just the windows client that is bugged?  All of the pools seem to be on the correct block, but http://drk.poolhash.org/poolhash.html shows a significant drop in network hashrate.

shouldn't be, but anything linked to darksend connection testing?
Maybe, the version on http://darkcoin.io is now the v0.10.0.0-unk-beta. With the "Use DarkSend" checkbox.

This was the last lottery...

Lotteryminning is closing down the pool - we are getting too small, and people seem to only want to mine at the big pools...

The pool will be turned of 22nd of april - Please withdraw your funds.. any funds left on that date will be considered pools property.. and used for happenings at a later date

BUT Smiley

we will return with something completly different, and its going to be awesome...

No offense, but I hate this new popular font style (I can barely recognize most of the symbols) and I really like the original DarkCoin logo.

MEANWHILE.........
How many people have noticed that the ROI to breakeven on your mining rigs is about 2 years at the current Darkcoin difficulty and price?

I did but may be this can dramatically change when those 250-500 Mhps ASIC beasts will start shipping. The little Gridseed thingies are bad enough for GPU mining, but that's just the beginning of the end.
However, I guess not everybody will want to sell their GPUs when KcN Scrypt ASIC arrives and Keccak is very FPGA/ASIC friendly, so I guess DarkCoin and it's clones might get some boost.

Also, +1 to both the idea of the words "Darkpay" and implementing edgecoin's idea of allowing messages on transactions which could be order numbers or invoice numbers which is necessary for business implementations.  The goal needs to be for the public to be able to easily fully transact in Darkcoins and thus have them want to hold and use Darkcoins for their utility.

When people write about privacy from the block chain, Zerocash always gets mentioned despite not having anything demonstrable out in the open.

Quote
User-controlled Privacy

Privacy is extremely hard to come by on the Internet. Bitcoin itself is not very private right now.

Publication of the owner of a single Bitcoin address can yield an incredible amount of personal financial information, information that cannot be put ‘back in the box’ – it will be available forever, encoded into the blockchain. This is the sort of information that law enforcement agencies would typically need to subpoena a bank for; instead right now we offer it to the entire Internet.

We haven’t yet seen significant involvement from consumer privacy agencies at the Foundation, but I believe they will be horrified when they understand just how much private financial data is being broadcast and permanently recorded.

This information directly impacts citizens living under repressive governments. It could cause physical harm to a woman whose finances are controlled by her pimp or her kidnapper. The knowledge of transactions can be combined with violence to limit any human’s fundamental right to transact economically.

It seems therefore critical that we do everything we can to support efforts that enhance this privacy from global inspection. Technological efforts like trustless sharing and ZeroCoin/ZeroCash have potential to improve the privacy guarantees available to those using Bitcoin.

Not everyone will want this kind of privacy to be available.  In some jurisdictions, concerns over money laundering are brought up as the reason why such privacy should not be available.

I believe that these concerns are real and valid, and pragmatically, that a balance needs to be struck. We don’t yet know exactly how to balance the risks to different parties; on the one hand direct violence, control of individuals and financial risks borne by citizens with hyper-inflationary money supply are real harms being borne by human beings around the world right now. On the other hand there are real and more generalized harms to society that money laundering enables.

Right now, I believe the most reasonable regulatory approach is to encourage anti-money-laundering and know-your-customer rules that can be implemented at the ‘endpoints’, Bitcoin exchanges or money transmittal businesses. These businesses already have clear regulation and operations rules and understand how to identify money laundering, and what to do about it when they see it.

At the same time, we need to do better protecting those who have no other safe way to transact economically, and the Foundation will be providing support for a variety of proposals as a way to let the broader community engage with them and assess what would be useful.

You can calculate your daily profit at the private calculator: https://cointweak.com/calculator/coin/drk

Is it possible to track the avg diff of the last 24hr + the avg block reward and then autopropose these two values? Because with dynamic diff + block rewards, calculations can be way off with a static value.
Unfortunately I don't keep track of block reward averages, but maybe I can add it to the settings to use average difficulty and write a piece of custom code for Drk to re-calculate block reward based on that. Can't promise anything yet though, will have to look into it.

I have tracked Difficulty.
http://drk.poolhash.org/graph.html

And reward added(1 hour ago).

After 24hr, http://drk.poolhash.org/poolhashrate/blocks/drk24hravgdiff.json will have last 24hr avg diff + reward.

The Future Of Work
LOL, I'll go for LimLims' eye too Wink

I have a problem.  I just sent 5 darksend payments and none of them seem to be going through.  The last time I did this, i gave up on it and got charged 0.1 drk for each misbehaving send when I finally closed my computer.  Several blocks have gone through since I started and yet, my darksends are still stuck at state 2.

I'm wondering if they will ever go through?  Is there something wrong?  I am using the latest (as in I just downloaded it fresh this evening in case it was updated) beta.  I really don't want to lose half a dark again, so I'll leave my computer on all night but I'm reporting this in case there is a problem that someone might look into??

Thanks Smiley

Been many hours now, and my darksends still haven't gone through.  Yet I know from last time, I'll be charged if I lose connection.  What should I do?

Hmm -- I wonder if the server that pushes DS transactions through is up & running? I believe Evan did this for the DS testing, but not sure if it's up 24/7.

Well, I guess I'm just going to have to eat the fees Sad  There really seems to be something wrong with it though.

Very cool, thank you!

BTW, EdgeCoin is coming with client messages attached to transactions, maybe put this on the list to add soon.. or maybe just copy paste their code, when edge is released.
