Did Decred developers, or did the community pay for the listing fees? I heard that Binance makes a lot of profit from it because they are very expensive.

$DCR will be listed on Binance

(Finally)

Can this be confirmed?

Is that the reason for the recent pump?

Of course the news is confirmed. And Binance will list deCRED tomorrow, October 24th. Beware of this coin and this governance because it is one of the best crypto projects after bitcoin.

I am very sorry that I did not buy a coin on the ICO when there was an opportunity Roll Eyes

You mean airdrop; Decred didn't do an ICO.

Yea, the days after the airdrop I think the price was near a dollar, it still would have been a fantastic investment.

Haha yup! We all miss the days we could get a DCR for a buck.

Still though, when the price hits $1k+, we'll look back to now and say, "I wish I had bought more when the price was $38!"   Grin haha

Yes, I think decred at a $1 was the chance of a lifetime, so many cryptos are struggling with governance and we all know right from day 1 decred devs were working on a decentralised solution to decision making, and this is the feature that makes dcr a superstar coin. Any future problems and issues can be worked through methodically, no gridlock, no damaging forks and dilution of community resources.

So whats the state of play with Decred now..still a good investment?
now it is more dependent on the market situation. I think while it is necessary to wait.

After cointelegraph publish an extremely anti-ethical article about this subject, not citing Decred and making it appear that this was done on ETH blockchain, the ETHnews site surprised me by writing this article giving the proper credits to DCR and teaching some cointelegraph "journalists" what is an impartial and ethical text. Congratulations for the ETHnews attitude.

https://www.ethnews.com/brazilian-presidential-candidate-announces-plans-for-blockchain-tech-in-government

"Fernando Haddad, the Workers' Party presidential candidate, has put his plans and statements on a blockchain platform.

The Brazilian presidential race is heating up, and the candidates have different ideas about how to use blockchain technology.

REDE party candidate Marina Silva used the Decred blockchain to create an immutable and transparent record of donations made to her campaign. New Party candidate João Amoêdo stated that if he were elected, he would implement a "Digital Government" and give Brazilians an electronic identity that could be enabled through blockchain technology.

As the Brazilian presidential race heads into its second phase, Fernando Haddad of the Workers' Party has decided to use blockchain technology to discredit what he is calling "fake news" reports concerning his ideas, polices, and personal life. According to Haddad's website, his proposals for the presidency have been altered and changed in an effort to manipulate voters. To combat the manipulation of his ideas, Haddad decided to put his 13-point government plan on the Decred blockchain to create an unalterable record unable to be used for malicious purposes.

Hadad's use of blockchain for this purpose mirrors a larger trend to leverage the technology to counter the spread of false information. In February of this year, Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin suggested that a prediction market be added to social media platforms like Twitter and Facebook wherein participants staked Ether and voted to decide whether a post was a scam or legitimate news. If the consensus were that a post was "fake news," those who voted in favor of the post would have their Ether taken away as punishment and vice versa for the posts found to be legitimate.

A few companies are already trying to use the technology to fight misinformation, too. Verasity and Civil are two blockchain companies hoping to incentivize users to participate in policing the legitimacy and ethics of media content.

The hurdle, however, to create an effective distributed enforcement mechanism to identify misinformation is that it would rely on people, and the public has proven that it is not very good at differentiating between fake and real news. Additionally, people would have to care enough about getting rid of fake news to risk their hard-earned money to prove or disprove a certain post or news article."

Calling someone popular in Decred, please make a proposal for the ability to buy less than a whole ticket. I have some Decreds left that are doing nothing. Hahaha. Cool

I don't see that happening. What might technically be easier would be to reduce the stake reward with a hardfork and increase the voting tickets per block by the equivalent amount.
Say 5x more tickets per block but 1/5 the reward. That would effectively reduce the price and make staking more accessible.

I don't know if it is worth doing though.

That would be a good idea. I believe the vision of POS in Decred was to make it more accessible for the whole community to be a part of the governance process. I see the increasing "price" of tickets centralizing towards the Decred "oligarchy".

Calling someone popular in Decred, please make a proposal for the ability to buy less than a whole ticket. I have some Decreds left that are doing nothing. Hahaha. Cool

Ticket splitting is already possible in 2 pools.
But it takes a minimum of 5 DCR so that the income isn't consumed by the fees.
More information here: https://stake.decredbrasil.com

I will take a look. Thanks.

Politeia is going live!
As of today, all Decred stakeholders have the power to vote on proposals via https://proposals.decred.org
Through this platform they decide which proposals get funded by the project treasury.
The future of Decred is fully in the hands of those who HODL  Cool

Amazing article from Coindesk:

"BREAKING: Decred is handing control of its $21 million treasury and all aspects of the protocol, from consensus through staffing, over to token holders."
https://www.coindesk.com/decred-is-turning-its-entire-21-million-crypto-treasury-over-to-investors/

And we already have the first proposal drafted!  Grin Grin Grin

Can't wait to see Politeia get exercised.
