A large and diverse community of stakers helps to keep secure the network that was one of the main reason for the airdrop  Smiley

I'm one of those jerks who still hodls his airdrop. A few times lately I thought of selling while a bunch of other alts were mooning and I was feeling jealous. But as bitcoin dropped Decred was like a rock (I mean it did drop, but not like an altcoin, and it has mostly recovered).

Your'e not alone in being one of those jerks, there are several of us ' long hodlers ' around. Wink
Every wallet version that goes by only impress's me more and more

Yes, I am an airdrop hodler as well. I like the project so much I even bought more last April. It has also paved the way for me to appreciate POS coins more. So many called this coin a scam because they had an airdrop, but I realize the team did this out of kindness and to get the network growing. I really respect the team, they are class A++

I have installed Decrediton - signed up on a pool - copied API code in wallet - send 4 DCR to the wallet - turned on Automatic Ticket Purchase

So now i only have to let the wallet open`? Or do i have missed something?

Current ticket price is ~77 DCR, so you'll need to send more to your wallet. Check here for current price: https://dcrstats.com/

Actually, pretty sure Decredition shows current ticket price as well.

1 decred is so expensive.  to have 77 decred ..is a fortune.

Not at all, when compared to the earning potential. Especially considering that DCR is probably the most underpriced coin right now. If Dash can be $700+, DCR is cheap as fuck @ $90-100

I finally managed to accumulate enough DCR for the ticket Smiley

Had to sell a lot other altcoins but DCR seems worth it.

So did a little reading and solo voting looks a too techy for me (command lines etc.) when compared to pool voting.

I'm wondering are the rewards the same (minus the pool fee) or is it better to solo vote?

I see that there are 3 wallets. I suppose Decredation is the latest and I should download that?

Does Decredation have an automatic ticket buying option as I want to participate in staking all the time?

Thx

Smart move.

Rewards are the same, minus pool fee.

Decredition is the shit! Smiley

Yes, auto-buying feature is available.

Decred's mechanism design solves some of the drawbacks of bitcoin and is also in the front of many coins, so its prospects are worth looking at.

yes, but if your ticket votes, you will receive 1 DCR. The rate is now around $ 100, and there are prospects for growth.

Decred is the coin that people buying Dash think they're getting. With Dash price at $700, imagine once everyone figures out that Decred is functionally the best implementation of blockchain as a currency.
Good luck!  Smiley

It's hard to hold something valuable in these crazy times that doesn't promise the sun and the stars but has a real - hard - roadmap that it is working to achieve.

Decred still believes in the power of the distributed ledger and blockchain technology as Satoshi envisioned it - and i feel like this ideal is dying with so many of the major new projects. Giving power back to the people, the voters, the users and connecting them all is what Decred is about to me.

Doing real work and making real work is hard! Decred can do it!

Hey guys,
Is there a Guide how to start staking?

https://docs.decred.org/mining/how-to-stake/

Hi!

My deposit of 82 Decred to Poloniex was not credited in over 48 hours, and no reply to my support ticket.
Anybody else here having the same problem?

on POLO you can observe it:
"DCR is currently under maintenance or experiencing wallet/network issues. Deposits and withdrawals will remain disabled until a solution is found, which may require an update from the DCR team. Any updates must be tested and audited before enabling."
I would postpone deposits for stock exchanges for later

Does this only affect Poloniex or are all exchanges effected?

The devs have been trying to contact Polo for days to find out what's going on and solve the problem but they don't respond.
It seems they haven't updated the wallet for the last fork

Crypto is the separation of Power and State.
What do you guys think of buying DECRED now, is the price too high, should I wait for a bigger dip? Since it has been going down a lot

Decred is still just a baby, with most of its growth ahead of it.  Downside risk is much less than other blue chip coins given its relatively low market cap, and upside is proportionately higher, so there is the asymmetric investment appeal that has been proven to work in the cases of Monero, Litecoin, and Ethereum Classic.

Decred still has its biggest exchange listings in the future.  Its governance system is still being fleshed out, but the process may bear fruit Soon(tm).

Decred's forthcoming bleeding-edge privacy overlay may be a game-changer given the high level of its developers' competence and tech savvy (Decred shares DNA with XMR and btcsuite).

Staking coins may enjoy their 15 minutes of fame when people realize the Masternode model is broken, failing, and simply paints a regulatory/kidnapping target on operators' backs.

When Dash, PIVX, and the other Masternode coins get busted by the SEC and local equivalents thereof, people may wake up and realize it is silly and counterproductive to pay operators who are too lazy to vote for/against proposals which are mostly failures and scams.

The flood of capital formerly pent up in Masternode coins will naturally seek out and find a place in staking coins, of which Decred and Cardano are the best in class.

Don't invest more than you can afford to lose, but do keep in mind the sooner you start staking the sooner your tickets' ROI starts compounding and the more influence you wield over the project's future.
