Many thanks to today's meeting attendees!
While I did have to wrap it up a little sooner than normal due to some personal time constraints, it was still a very productive meeting. I hope the earlier-than-normal adjournment did not prevent anyone's attendance.
A real quick recap:
Price: Given recent trends, 'Yaa!' 3000+ satoshi! One attendee sold as high as 8000 satoshi on coinexchange this week, quite impressive "stack-doubling" and then some! Be sure to watch all markets, if that is your thing.
Earth Day bounties: Submissions have been coming in, thank you to those who already have participated. Largely due to Kakuma's diligent work, we had ~3000 trees in the ground on Earth Day 2018 as result! Be reminded, the bounty opportunity does extend past Earth Day itself. You still have plenty of time to participate and get $10 equivalent of EGC. A few other organizations have expressed interest and it does appear more planting events are falling into place. Please do not hesitate to contact us to arrange any group planting event, as we would be thrilled to have your group's or organization's participation. EGC yard signs have been mentioned and may be made in the near future. We would have to meet a minimum order requirement of course, so please, let us know if you may be interested.
Kakuma Internet connectivity: The necessary 41k+ shillings (450 $) has now been paid for the connection to be installed, including the first 6 months of service. It is going to be installed next week. We are discussing charging for access to this connectivity per month. Meaning, beyond students of the learning center's, the connectivity could be used by other camp occupants for a few EGC per month (1 EGC/month was discussed, wifi password changes monthly). This will give an instant jump-start to rea-world-use of EGC in the camp. Followed shortly after, as soon as possible, by other products and services being sold. That aspect of the ecosystem is more in the hands of Lyama (our coordinator within the refugee camp) but, our thought is to start now in securing the next 6 months of service via these monthly fees while providing 'instant' utility of EGC for the many who participated in the bounty and do now, or soon will, own EGC. This all is being done to achieve many aspiring projects-to-be the community has been discussing including solar water wells, sponsor a student programs, and further employing camp occupants potentially by recording instructional and promotional videos. The learning center will be the 'hub' of all this.
Non-staking Android wallet: Final testing has started. It does send and receive EGC successfully. Both wrinkles to the displayed interface (such as decimals in the wrong position) and the necessary infrastructure (2 servers serving up the API) are concluding through the weekend. The software will be released ASAP. It will be in the Google Play Store, as is the full-featured version already, but the APK will be made available prior and, again, ASAP.
Ok, thats all that was discussed in much detail at today's shorter hangout. Remember, you're welcome to join every Saturday at 17:00 GMT (1 PM EST). If you can't attend, you're also welcome to our
Discord. Have a great Sunday and thanks for the continued support!
