Every platform will be replaced at one point, even facebook at some point in future. The question is when and with what kind of platform/why there is need to. Instagram will also be replaced at one point in future, that’s a normal process.

You are right about this.

Even if soma had great success and become mainstream it will be replaced either.

They will only be replaced if something is 10x better. Anything that is 2x better wont conquer the market.  Its a general rule in buseniss:
http://www.businessinsider.com/your-product-needs-to-be-10x-better-than-the-competition-to-win-heres-why-2011-3?international=true&r=US&IR=T

Hard to understand how you can gauge that a platform is ten times better than another.

I think, they must look to Pinterest (which goods popular there) and put similar good to own marketplace.

It's not up to SOMA to decide which products people will put in the market, I think that as long as they are legal products, everything can be sold

You mean by legal in Finland to sell? I am wondering that would they need to follow Finnish marketing rules as well...

i like the community of soma. everyone is pretty active, questions a lot and gets good answers, overall the community is growing good Smiley

hope this will even hold on after the end of the ico.

that remains to be seen and depends mostly on how the devs work on developing the product.

By the way, just stumbled about a German article in which a social network called “fancy” got mentioned. It seems it is a French social marketplace platform. Does someone has experience with it? Is it good? I would like to know if there is demand for something like Soma.

Nice find. They are focusing on fancy stuff you do not need.

Soma is not so clear about what kind of goods they like to see on their platform. Or who their target audience is.

Examples we have seen so far in Soma's documents:

- a model airplane
- second hand clothing
- second hand books
- a chair
- vintage white bicycle in good condition
- prefect summer dress
- Adidas Yeezy Boost 350 Releases for 2016
- a used guitar from a musician with a lot of followers
- oil
- raw materials and commodities
- a carpet made as a handcraft in a certain country
- vintage, art and valuable goods

First they will launch the network in their own country, they will see how successful this is. Such things are sold exclusively within the same city most often. Otherwise, sending a large-sized thing can cost more than the thing itself.

I wonder how those interactive cards are going to look for oil.

"I love this Oseberg crude, it has such a delicate fragrance. Although not as mild as the Texas light sweet, it damn well beats the Dubai and Urals. AAA+++ would tank again."

Yes, better way lock bounty tokens for one month or so. Investors must receive tokens first of course.

Totally agree, but one month would be not enough, though.

agree. or unlocked bounty token in multiple times .

Not fair for bounty hunter to lock their tokens in my opinion.

It depends on the situation I guess.
I think the tokens which received lot's of bonuses should be locked for some time.
The bounty hunters mostly receive small amounts anyway and locking those wouldn't make so much sense.

That's true to transport things to other continents is very expensive but it gets cheaper. I think in the future it will cost much less.

Im agry. People buying a lot of bullshit... But anyway, it must be usefull things also

I don't think that SOMA will interfere with what is being sold on their platform (as long as products are legal, ofc). It's completely up to its users what they sell, whether or not products are useful, the more so as 'useful' is a quite elastic term.

i think soma will be use term of conditions. like customer satisfaction. maybe like that when customer satisfaction confirmed then payment released. this is my only point of view.

Do soma has any agreement with their angel investors that they can't sell their share before some time? Like 6 months or 1 year?

Angel investors invested before the ICO and cannot liquidate their share without the permission of our board.

So they can not dump there shares on the market without permission! Smiley
This is a really good thing.

I think the android app will come soon, the iOS app is really nice and users friendly, its a very nice thing that the soma team show us the design and some features of the platform. Its very important for investors.

Then it becomes a generic market just like eBay ("AAAAA+++++ seller would buy again") and AliExpress. I have the idea Soma wants to serve more of a niche "vintage, art and valuable goods" market going by the artwork, although they are sometimes a bit schizophrenic in their descriptions about what they exactly want.

I think what they are trying to do is to create something completely new market 2.0, so i dont think we need to worry about it being similar to what we are used now.

Yes I think so too. I think this is the missing factor of the existing Social Media platforms right now. yes they have advertising and all, but they don't have the integration of a proper marketplace for sellers and buyers. I think this is like Facebook meets Shopify or Etsy. If this becomes successful, I think this could be the potential Facebook killer.
Calm down my friend, soma is definitely not the Facebook killer. Soma even don't want to compete with Facebook

even if they dont want to, they are on a good way on the chinese region to become a facebook killer?

There are other companies, like vk.com, steemit ... it will not be easy to be a facebookkiller. :-)

Well, on the other thought, they don't have to be a facebook killer. They can be their own. Like LinkedIn captured the niche of the Professional Social Networking, so does SOMA to capture the Social Market Networking. They can actually work side by side with Facebook and other social media.

Which relation they have to Facebook? Its different SN. They looks like to Pinterest.

the only releation i se so far is that you can access soma with you fb acc

Hmm, so this looks like a pin interest + market + crypto. I like the platform layout designs shown on the website. Has anyone done a little peek-a-boo of this platform in development? I suppose it is in Alpha testing right now.

Yes they released only the Alpha version for iOS, however community manager said that they're working on the closed beta and on Android app and on Webapp
I would like to see android app because I am an android user. Has anybody tested the iOs app? I am interested how it's running.
The team added some spoilers for iOS app on soma website, seem it very interesting and user friendly. So it will not difficult to use it. I hope they can as soon as possible finished the app for android

Isn't pinterest nearly for tagging images? Or can you talk or bit the items in there? It has been so long i last visited there so things might have changed a bit...
