It's just a coincidence. The Merit (MRT) project has nothing to do with Bitcointalk Merits 
however, it is possible that the person who raised this question can find information on the project site, where there is also a white paper, which has a lot of interesting information. maybe my message will help.

Hey tamara163, a buy order is confirmed and executed as soon as there is 1 confirmation on the bitcoin blockchain. IIRC, if there's not even a single confirmation of the BTC txn on the chain after an hour, then the transaction goes stale. If your BTC is stuck in limbo, the team will resolve this very promptly if you give them a heads up on the #market channel of Merit Discord (https://discordapp.com/invite/X3v3n3b).

The price is very cheap right now. It was starting from around 30K sat at launch. Maybe it is time to get some.

I just dont feel comfortabe enough to buy Merit at Merit Exchange. I hope Merit will be listed on centralized market soon.
