Filling that bottle with cold water could slow down heating of the whole box, too.

so, seriously, what IS that in there for?
To force air through heatsink.
Thats what I was guessin too =), w/ the case panel on, air could only go through the ASIC heatsinks...

I'm almost convinced that some or most of the Avalons are in use.

The network is up about 8 Thash/s or approx 360 Avalons.

Either the rightful owners are keeping a tight lip or someone is cashing in before they get delivered.
You're aware that ASICMINER has 3.7TH pointed at BTC Guild, right?
No, I wasn't aware. heh...

I saw how the pool's hashrate doubled last week and assumed it was the Avalons.
Yep ASICMINER is slowly coming online, and the recent price surge to over $30/BTC (!) has attracted a lot of miners that had previously shut off. Even GPUs are pretty profitable, but that could change for some at the next diff recalc. And the next one after that should be interesting, as well.

Yep and then when no customers get there hands on asic,s it will be a centralised mining oparation..which is not á good thing...!!

All cryptos are FIAT digital currency. Do not use.

8T is only 123 machines if each handles 65G

For purpose of testing, they should run them for a couple of days before shipping, that is normal

I'm counting 22 Ghash/s per board. lol Wink

Btc Guild has someone running over 3.6 Thash/s with 69 blocks found during the current difficulty ! hmmmm....

Could someone with a low Batch 1 number call DHL and check if they have any tracking?
Whats low? Any idea what number they started on?

In any case, I'm pretty sure they haven't shipped (meaning released to a major shipper) mine— and so I'm doubtful they've shipped anyone elses.

(I'm going to take a totally WAG— pure speculation— that to resolve the costly shipping they put the units they shipped out on a cargo ship, and at some point they land at a port in the US and get handed off to a carrier)
P.S. A 33 pound package via DHL express costs $421.
It costs ~$270/day to not have an Avalon mining.

Instead of putting them on a cargo ship, it would be most cost effective to mine with them a few days then ship as fast as possible via Air.  This would be a win-win for Avalon and their customers.

How's your one performing? no crashes?

Updated firmware seems pretty happy.  No long-run data yet, as I've had to turn it off for reasons unrelated to mining (moving gear around etc.)

Well, besides the bbs. pictures posted, a random Chinese guy emailed me, requesting the firmware image Yifu sent me.

So, it sounds like some units are arriving at their Chinese destinations, at least.

That's reassuring, Cheers Jeff.

Is anyone else thinking that no news is actually bad news?
