I was looking at ordering 2 more today but not sure with this jump in import fee's people are talking about

Yes, thank you BITMAIN for not surprise jacking up the declared value prices on my units. It was the same value as a month ago. I look forward to doing business with you again.

Ordered 9 over the past month and paid £29.73 in duty to the UPS driver.

The one that arrived this morning the driver wanted £135.00!

Refused the delivery for now any one else have this issue?  I'm in the UK.

Update -  Just spoke to UPS and Bitmain have put item value $900!  On all the others they but $145  why the change??

Bitmain can you tell me if you are putting $900 value on all orders from now on or if this is a one off mistake

Thanks

Same for me.

Just called DHL to pay my duty and they want £117 in duty costs for ONE S1. I paid in total £87 two weeks ago for THREE S1s wtf is going on?

DHL said that Bitmain put the value of the package as £452.39 (total value two weeks ago was £257.17 for three)

Did not expect to pay that much so there might be an Antminer on it's way back to China real soon, not because I'm refusing to pay it. Just because I can't afford to right now. Sad times Sad

DHL said to contact the sender and ask them to confirm the "correct" value to them via email ([email protected]) - I've emailed webmaster@bitmaintech and currently waiting for a response, though it is now 02:40 over there right now, they're allowed some sleep Smiley

Double your Personal Bitcoin Funds.
I ended up getting one from ebay. Good price but I've got X's showing up. I had to downclock it to 375 and now things are better.

I just ordered 2 from Bitmaintech yesterday. When do you guys think they will ship my unit?

Looks like it's the same speed as the U1, 1.6GHs default, with just a different heatsink.

No Bono or Edge included...
Don't forget those other guys, they're important too. I don't know their names or what they do, but I think they're in the band.

On another note, I believe in the past Bitmain declared one price per shipment. I had to pay ~$40 for one unit, and the same $40 for six. Has anyone gotten multiple ones with the new price, and if so did they declare the whole value to be $900 or each miner to be $900?

why are you complaining?

that is the actual price of the miner. you must understand that customs of many countries do check the real value of the shipment no matter what value you put on the invoice.

so its a kind a unfair for you to pay 30 $, while others must pay 200 $.

it is even more unfair if you order more miners.

The actual price of the miners is 1.45BTC and since BTCUSD and BTCEUR have been jumping up and down like a kangaroo on drugs, there is no telling what the actual price of the miner is.

yes, thats why you take the exchange rate when you made your order.
You have to learn that not everybody is buying miners to sell the mined BTC for USD or EUR directly. Same thing in other words, not everybody is buying BTC with USD or EUR to buy miners.
There are people who buy miners with BTC and actually spend the BTC (on other miners or to actually buy stuff)

yes, but you cant pay customs with bitcoins. and you cant produce miners with bitcoins.

The value of the miner to me is ~1.4btc. Last time I bought bitcoin was back in 2012. Even 30USD is overpaying. Not sure what fair got to do with anything.

There is some problem in your head dude.

Why have to suck everybody because of some others.

But ok. No problem if this is the way.

but if Bitmain tell me before doing this i'll think about it and if it's no good i won't order.

Besides that, if it would've been let's say €100 every time, sure, but when it suddenly jumps from nothing to a lot, it's not more than logical that people start complaining and demanding explanation from the vendor. (especially when the vendor didn't tell this information beforehand!)

Curious to see what happens with that value.

I've ordered multiple times since December 2013. The first units cost me about €50 additional costs each, this slowly went down with every order to about €30, and my last 2 orders didn't had any additional costs at all. Also, I've never put any kind of request to bitmain regarding values or names or anything, just order and wait.

However, reading the comments above kind of makes me worried as I have 7x S1 coming in, so if that means a sudden increase of costs by €700-€1000, I'm far from happy.

Also weird, usually they were shipped with UPS. Now I'm waiting on 3 orders and 2 of them are shipped by DHL and 1 of them by UPS.

I think it's not more than fair than somebody from Bitmain explaining:
- Why the sudden increase in value without telling your customers? You should know this causes quite some additional costs for us.
- Why did you suddenly chose to ship with DHL while for many people, UPS is so much better?

Please Bitmain, a little explanation is in place here.

+1

I have on order 7 ants 4 comes with Ups- no problem.

3 with Dhl. This sux. They wants a lot of papers, they work pass throught customs is a shit. And if this is not enough they will charge me for the tax and vat for the shipping cost because the packages has been sent with FOB. They asked me to show the invoice of the shipping cost....

And of course the price rise on the invoice.....

7 ants = 10.1Btc + about 1700 $ cost here.

What do you think I'm happy?

If they wouldn't already in the country I'v returned them back and ask for a refund.

It's a zero sum game now.

I usually ask for a ~250USD computer game gateway and Bitmaintech and sushi before that, have always honored the request . Did you people request similar stuff from Bitmaintech?

I have to pay a lot more in this case.

I had to pay about 40$ / miner.

Now 140$ / miner.

Hope Bitmain will read this.

I think they will loose a lot of customers.

I was to make a bigger order, 20+ but with this low profit margin on the miner + 2800 $ tax+vat.

No profit....

Please Bitmain think again this....
