Query reference IP addresses and the wallet staying properly connected :

Although we do not have a static IP, the IP address here stays pretty much static generally.  However, just recently we have had a spate of IP address changes for whatever reason.

The result of this is that the SLR wallet drops off to 3 connections and consequently stops 'Staking' and goes back to 'In Sync' for what seems to be a long time.

Is there a cure to this? since it would seem a waste of time having the wallet open at all just to be 'In Sync'....

Thanks

Does the amount of connected nodes affect the possible amount of interest generated in any way?
So would 30 connections generate more interest than 6 for example?

I'm running two wallets and do find that the one with between 20-28 connections does generates between 1-4 coins per stack per staked coins and the other which never goes above 8 connection never earns more than 1 coin per staked coins

Over the course of the day I have 40 lots of coins that are staked but it never seems to be more than 25% of my coins, I'm guessing that's something that is set in the code to prevent the largest wallets having most of the coins as at first I was getting up to 1,500 coins per stake which was very nice.

Hi,

For those interested in paper wallet sweeps. Do people get different amounts on the "cryptoid blockchain explorer" vs. their online hot wallet after the creation of a offline paper wallet and then funding it from their online hot wallet?
I funded 0.01 SLR from the hot wallet to a newly created paper wallet and that was tagged on the "cryptoid blockchain explorer" successfully (pretty much immediately). I verified the timing and amount and it cross checked to my hot wallets transaction history.

However when I search for my original hot wallets recorded address (not the newly created paper one), it showed that a major difference occured at that transaction moment. It deducted 489.69 SLR instead of the expected 0.01 SLR.

I have since swept back the original 0.01 SLR to the hot wallet successfully (i have verified that balance is correct). However the "Cryptoid blockchain explorer" seems not to register this. Maybe it takes more than 500 confirmations? So far that transaction is showing 475 confirmations. Or maybe this is irrelevant.

Thanks,
-lfloorwalker

If you could, give is the transaction ID.
That's https://chainz.cryptoid.info/slr/tx.dws?1084931.htm
Currently at 493 confirmations.

If I'm reading this right, it looks like that's the chunk of coin that .01 SLR came from, the rest was swept back into your wallet under an internal address.

https://chainz.cryptoid.info/slr/block.dws?850087.htm

The amounts in your wallet aren't different I'm assuming?

"..the rest was swept back into your wallet under an internal address"

In a previous reply Steve mentioned that this is how PoST "address amounts splitting into smaller chunks" works. Looks like that.

I found out that it is an anonymity feature called a "change address" built into the Bitcoin and Altcoin code. Cryptoid FAQs mentions that "Guesstimated wallets" are usually lower in real value than actual wallets because of these change addresses.
More info here. https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Change

That sounds right. I've always seen this behavior in crypto currency so I just figured it was normal.

Ok thanks, it's good because the Java console generates the paper (internal) addresses. Another step ahead and the start of an engine.  All we need now is to connect the Java console to a solar inverter/ monitoring platform.

My wallet keeps forking for some reason.
Downloaded the wallet to a new computer and this one forked too, any suggestions as to why?
P.S. The install was clean from scratch with only wallet.dat file.

How can you tell your wallet is forking?
My block count is different to the official blockchain.

Hi mazzaneo, if you are on 2.0.8 and have reloaded the blockchain (File->Reload Blockchain) you should not be forking.  Current block height is 846800.

EDIT:  There are quite a few nodes that need to reload the blockchain.  96.49.13.206, 68.132.65.5, 222.237.39.100, 162.243.214.120, 173.57.196.254, 88.10.79.186, 195.154.185.5, 174.57.197.124, 150.101.243.74

Hi Steve, on both computers i uninstalled the wallets and deleted all files from appdata/roaming/solarcoin excluding my wallet of course.
This action should be sufficient i'm guessing.

How many connections are you seeing?

8, reloaded the blockchain and it appears stable as of now

I had similar issues since Friday. Reloading on ver 2.0.8. I re-downloaded the bootstrap as well.
