Check! Received my first claim in May Cool
The amount of coins being exactly the amount of energy in MWh.
Glad to hear it, dont forget you can stake your $SLR for an additional 2% income, and you will be supporting the SolarCoin blockchain by doing so.

Over 2,000 net-new claims paid in May, looks like there was a backlog, but still that's great growth.  Source: https://solarcoin.enapter.com/transactions?utf8=%E2%9C%93&query=aagrt

Global node distribution is also becoming very healthy with hundreds of peers all over the globe, impossible to get a true representation but there are nodes as far afield as New Zealand, South Africa, Chile and Canada, with major concentrations in Australia, Germany and USA.

Things are looking bright, to the Sun!

I recently joined SolarCoin using the SMA / Sunnyportal connection.
Had some problems first and got a 'validation error'. This was resolved by generating a new wallet address.

Anyway, it now says 'SolarCoinPending'. What's the average time for approval?
It can vary.  We the community cant tell you exactly, in the old scheme it was paid every six months, but the Foundation are trying to do it more regularly.  Not much activity on Bitcointalk nowdays, you are more likely to get help on the general contacts https://solarcoin.org/contact/

Hello,

I have a general question. Does anyone else work at Solarcoin? I have technical problems with my wallet (the blocks are not updated and therefore staking is not possible). I have reinstalled the wallet and also completely reloaded the blockchain. Some days or weeks everything works again, but then the wallet is not updated anymore. There are more and more blocks in backlog. Transfers are working though.

Several requests to the support were not answered. A ticket was created each time, but that was all.

There are also no new messages on the homepage. Is the project dead?

Currently the coins are only tradable on a few exchanges. Is there still hope for improvement here?

The wallet is a little finicky. If you can't get it to synch, locate the solarcoin data folder. %appdata%/solarcoin on windows, or the .solarcoin folder on linux, make a backup of the wallet.dat file and delete everything in the folder except the wallet.dat file. Reload the wallet, and reload the blockchain. It'll take a few minutes, might look like it's frozen but it's working. Also wait until the wallet is done synchronizing before entering your password. Yeah I know, it's clunky and could use a good rework.

Thank you so much for noticing the discrepancy & sharing your findings with so much detail!
In appreciation of your effort I just sent you 100 SLR to your address.
Hello,
Thank you for pointing me out to the new policy. It explains the discrepancy i have spotted.
Now, I understand the calculation.
Thank you also for the 100 SLR gift.

By the way, I would like to join the Slack Solarcoin-group but didn't find any link to register.
Do you know how to proceed ?
Thank you.

About 1,000 new Solarcoin claims added since 11/06/2019!   https://solarcoin.enapter.com/transactions?query=Agrt
Hello,
I am one of them.
I would like to understand how the SLR initial claim amount is calculated.
I have asked for through the contact form on solarcoin.org website and to support (got a ticket number) but I didn't get any feedback.
It seems no one at solarcoin.org is reading members inquiries.
So, may be someone here can help me ?

After registering my solar facility with solarcoin.org I have received the initial Solarcoin grand amount on November, 6th.
This amount is 19.33 SLR.

According to rules stated on solarcoin.org website, it should be as follow :
"The annual calculation is 365 days X 24 hrs X 15% X Your KW Nameplate Capacity/1000. This works out to 1.314 X your installed KW Nameplate Capacity. The initial SolarCoin grant is retroactive to the install date of your facility or Jan 1, 2010; whichever is more recent. Ongoing SLR grants are made every 6 months based the facility install month."

My solar installation nameplate capacity is 2.94 kWc.
The install date is April 6th, 2010. Around 9.6 years ago.
So, according to the formula, initial SLR grant amount should be around :
1.314 x 2.94 x 9.6 = 37.08 SLR
How to explain the huge discrepancy with the SLR amount I have received ?
Thank you.

Hi,

Earlier this year the "retroactive back to Jan 1 2010" was changed to "5 years back rolling", here is one of the announcements (on FB):
https://www.facebook.com/groups/solarcoin/permalink/1189937807873418/
Here is the linked post on Medium:
https://medium.com/solarcoin/claim-your-solarcoin-now-each-day-passing-could-be-a-lost-reward-67b50c8e30a5

I bet if you do the calculation according to this new rule you will get a match to what you received.

The website info has been fixed accordingly ONLY in the FAQ section:
http://solarcoin.wpengine.com/faqs/
"...Earning SolarCoins....
SolarCoins can be granted retroactive to 5 years from the date of the initial claim. If your facility is older than 5 years old, claim now. Each day missed is lost SolarCoin."

But as you correctly noticed, the Claim your SolarCoins section https://solarcoin.org/#claiming has NOT been updated accordingly, which needs to be fixed. Also the SolarCoin Policy Papers  https://solarcoin.org/resources/ have NOT been updated (just checked the one in English), needs to be updated, too.

As you also provided the Transaction comment:
text:AGRT-FR-31530-13699-2.94-7960-04/06/2010-11/01/2019
it appears it has NOT been changed to reflect the new 5 years policy.

Thanks for the list!

I had issues with my computer, and lost the roaming folder for my wallet.

Now, the wallet cannot find any connection to the network.

May I get a list of addnodes, please?
