So, what advantage would there be having master nodes on the network? We already have anonymity via ring signatures and built-in chat.
When you use the current chat feature available now, it only keeps your chats for a small period of time i believe. That's because when you chat you broadcast the message to the network but only those who have the public private key pair can open and read a message.
Those messages don't get stored in the blockchain. They go to a local folder on everyones machine. So that's why you don't want to keep all messages. Our local folder would fill up.
If Riot is introduced as an iFrame, the Matrix network stores the chat histories on their servers.
However, if you create Riot to run exclusively on the vTorrent network where do you store all those running conversations? Your local folder already needs space for the vTorrent client, the chat logs and also room for torrent files.
So if you run Masternodes, they are servers that run on the network. Which means they can both run the Riot network and also store all the running chats.
Someone somewhere needs to be running Riot and storing all the information it generates.

Dear all,
We have been monitoring the network and working with Bittrex to make sure there will be no issues and no coins will be lost during the hardfork.
I am pleased to inform you all that everything went smoothly and we have successfully switched the vTorrent network from Protocol v1 (80014 in 0.7.x) to v2 (80016 in 0.8.x) that took place on block 1,200,000.
As promised, new client with major upgrades is coming soon, it is still being worked on since there are some thread-related bugs causing the client to crash on certain conditions.

Value of this coin had increased significantly. I saw how this started, if I was a bag holder I'm already filthy rich. One reason why i didn't invest was that there was no website created for them so it feels like the dev isn't so serious. How did this coin grew, what development had it achieved so far, fill me please.

Can dev deny/confirm that twitter guy - @AgentSoft is a part of vtorrent team (as he is claiming)? He became quite popular and if he is spreading fake news then he is hurting this coin.

The "meh" was directed at the ad hominem that was (and still is) being directed at me. Calling me lazy, misinformed, only interested in short term profits, etc... is this how you guys treat new community members? Some sort of hazing?
It looks as if I am not misinformed, as no one knows exactly how the incentives will work. As far as how the incentives work, I know as much as you guys do... nothing.
If you knew me (which you don't), then you would know I am less interested in short term profits, and more interested in cryptocurrencies that can grow over a long period of time. Generally, I buy and hold cryptocurrencies for years, so that makes you no better than I. You cannot insult me based on something you admit to doing yourself.
