this coin needs a relaunch, with a different/better name and different algorithm, maybe cryptonite algo from cryptonote coins.(since gpu there is 1:1 with cpu), as its pretty obvious that this coin has had a GPU miner/s from launch.
Similar to doomcoin only worse , at least with doom the released the GPU miners relatively soon and fairly to all people who read the forum and also on the main thread
these a$holes refuse to release the miner until what they have the 90% of the supply ?  Screw this coin lol.

I deleted my quote after reading that within 3 months, the coins mined at launch will only be 1% of the coin supply and within a year, less than 0.05% . So it's not really bad.

The first day's mining will be very close to 1% after 100 days, but the mining on this coin has been messed up for a week (and is still messed up, maybe messed up even more). Who believes that the hash rate has naturally grown to 6 billion from over the past 1-2 days while the price has dropped by more than half?

A week's mining will be about 7% after 100 days, not 1%, and who knows how long it will be until there is anything resembling a level playing field.

And I don't think small time miners / hobbyists mine at all - simply because they can't find blocks.

Is there a calculator for XCN?
Or what would be the formula to find it manually?

information is classified for now, but do yourself a favor and use Intel processors, AMD's are great for GPU bridge for standard mining, this coin here for me is theoretical exercise although I used my setup to mine primecoin (riecoin too) very successfully early in the days (too late now) also cloud farms but here be warned as it is unprofitable also press your local law enforcement cyber division to dismantle bot nets not just for the sake of crypto coins  Cool

Not bad. I tweaked the miner and reached 760kh/s on my CPU. i7-4770k.

Aww.  Decided to poke a little.  I'm at 510kh/s on an i7-4790.  (not k;  up from about 400 default).

I should poke at the pool miner instead, it's probably less of a hassle to play with.

Heh, I'm not competing. I spent less than an hour toying with it.

Also, 1GH's miner is better than the stock one.

Yeah.  Just spotted that.

580 -> 645.

I'm not actually competing either - I'm taking off on vacation pretty soon and my limited work time is devoted to real job emergency handling.  Just wanted to poke around in it since you hinted that it had low hanging fruit. Smiley

You should really add info on how to add nodes to the op under the usage section, people are asking everyday and this coin is probably losing a ton of would be miners who can't be bothered with a coin that doesn't work out of the box.

Check the FAQs.  They are literally posted on this same page:

I cant sync my wallet, i am stuck on "Downloading headers - 5 days behind - 5789 block"...
Maybe there is somewhere in the thread about this problem i have but it is damn to long to read/search and i just hooped onto this coin...

EDIT: 103 active connections, (0 in / 103 out) and still stuck... Not downloading anything after 5789 blocks...
You have outgoing connections so I don't think it could be firewall issues, but maybe check just in case. Few things to try if doesn't come good after a few minutes: make sure you're running latest revision and try running -resync or just delete your data folder (make a backup of it first if you have any coins).

Right... go ahead, reduce the coins to 2 million, have them all mined within a week, premine it to the shit, but it's not a scam because you have a GPU miner available at launch. If we wanted to make a nice healthy return on the immense amount of effort we put into this coin we would have simply premined it, and it was a very hard decision to go with no premine because I've spent a lot of money out of my own pocket on this coin. In all honestly we could have done a rather large premine like MOST coins do and people wouldn't be complaining as much as they are about having no GPU miner at launch. Whoever has that huge amount of hashing power might have created their own private GPU miner but we have no damn GPU miner, but catia has been working on one for the last few days and it should be available soon. You guys have no appreciation of anything we've done here and I'm sick of it. Go create your own fork of Cryptonite because I can't stand to listen to your whining any more.

Calm down bitfreak. People in crypto nowadays are mostly just teenager and greedy. If you listen to all of you, you must kill yourself first. You have done a great job, everything else is secondary.  Wink

wow, some addresses mine @1gh with 600MH ... thats more than 5000 haswell cores...

I really wonder why giving money to botnets is ok :S
or perhaps its just a 780ti or 7990

What about Amazon Cloud it could provide him very powerfull hashrate ? I think all these ideas about GPU miner are only conspiration theories Smiley.

I'm just optimistic.

Where is the link for the new miner? Huh

The most efficient public miner is 1gh cpuminer-cryptonite.
My hashrates were for comparison within the range of the same software.

I know it may be already obsolete if private miners are in the game.

The hashrate increased rapidly in last hours.

Some statistics:
------------------------------------------
"blocks" : 12533,
"networkhashps" : 1863253147,
------------------------------------------
"blocks" : 13341,
"networkhashps" : 2534603317,
------------------------------------------
"blocks" : 15322,
"networkhashps" : 4792662628,

just four hours later:
------------------------------------------
"blocks" : 15556,
"networkhashps" : 6284523620,

hm...... the guy got gpu miner earns big money   Angry

Thank you very much marada.  I added this to the FAQ on the previous page.

I'd like someone to test it. I am not sure what the deps are in "stock" distros and what needs to be installed.

Linux from Source:

My proposal:

Linux from sources

Install dependencies & compilation dependencies:

Code:
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install libboost1.55-all-dev build-essential libdb++-dev g++ libminiupnpc-dev libqt4-dev libprotobuf-dev libgmp-dev
* use your favourite versions of libraries
** use your distribution package tool or compile dependencies from sources

Code:
git clone https://github.com/MiniblockchainProject/Cryptonite/
cd Cryptonite
./autogen.sh
./configure --with-incompatible-bdb --with-gui
* proposed options, use ./configure --help to get more options

Code:
make -j
* where is the number of threads/cores you wish to use

If everything goes right you will find your qt wallet here:
~/Cryptonite/src/qt/cryptonite-qt

By default cryptonite-qt is compiled as shared library so you may need to launch from the terminal. Optionally install as system package:
Code:
sudo make install
* in case of distroes based on apt.

** you need at least 1,2 GB of disk space. 4 GB+ and 4+ cores CPU is recommended for compilation.

Thank you very much marada.  I added this to the FAQ on the previous page.

EDIT:  Changed "./make" to "make" above and in the original post

GPU miner will be there eventually but I looked into it and it's lot's of work (since there are no OpenCl hashing scrypts for the used algo's).
I think it's good for the market to have CPU only for a few more days.  Cool

Personally, I don't think GPU mining is better. Because people will have to by more things in order to mine this coin. These fund should have been thrown into market.
