Fuck BlackRock
Maybe the high transaction fees problem can be sidestepped by making a clone of Counterparty on a blockchain that uses the same address format as bitcoin so that for each bitcoin address that exact same address works on the other chain; and is merged-mined alongside bitcoin so has a very high difficulty albeit not as high as bitcoin's since not all bitcoin miners do merged mining.

I am thinking of DeVCoin, which admittedly is based on bitcoin code that by now is a little old, but should not be too hard to bring up to date if newfangled features of bitcoin are desired.

Counterparty could even be updated to be able to retain linkage to bitcoin's own blockchain by periodically doing bitcoin-chain counterparty transactions bring the bitcoin chain up to date with various transactions that have happened on the cheaper chain, to pin it all back to bitcoin's level of difficulty/security from time to time.

This is an ingenious and secure way to help XCP transact on a merge mined/compatible address carrying chain Smiley

BONUSBTC is a scam token sent to peoples wallets to trick them into trying to login to a fake counterwallet instance using their 12-word passphrase... at that point the scammers have the 12-word passphrase for the persons wallet and then steal the funds/assets in the wallet

I have updated xchain.io to no longer display the BONUSBTC asset description which contained the URL to the fake counterwallet login.... This should hopefully stop some ppl from losing funds to these scammers.

Same scam with COUNTEREVENT asset was pulled years ago as well.

Hi guys - long-time holder here. What are the easiest ways to trade XCP in 2021?  What exchanges have sufficient volume?
Appreciate any first-hand experience.

In just under 24 hours Counterparty will host our first Developer Meeting in over a year. While previously this has been hosted in other platforms, instead we are delighted to be able to use Telegram due to recent upgrades. Please join us in the Official Counterparty Chat, on Sunday, July 18th at noon EST in the voice channel for an informal meeting about what upgrades Counterparty has had in the last year. This will also be a great opportunity to showcase something you have been working on! Please send an email to [email protected] as soon as you are able, if you are interested in presenting.

If you are unable to attend a great way to catch up on what has been going on in the community would be to read our newsletter. The current issue was posted earlier this month. If you are on the eMail list, you should have already received a link. https://counterparty.io/news/counterparty-newsletter-july-2021/

Theodore "Duncan" Krostue Brings a Personal Touch to CounterParty Public Relations and Group Meetings as New Outreach Manager

Duncan draws on a strong history of decentralized internet publishing, peer to peer technology, blockchain tech, cryptoart, and online agency experience along with an academic background of informatics and marketing to offer public relations duties a competent voice. Over the last four years he has rooted himself as a publisher, heavy user, elected representative and now as Outreach Manager of CounterParty. Getting the newsletter on a regular publication schedule and the monthly meeting streaming again are top priorities for this new brand manager and spokesperson. Starting immediately he is calling for submissions of articles and contact from projects as well as reaching out to press agencies in order to facilitate healthier communication between the community of users and the general public.

Duncan looks forward to a fruitful future for all involved with the CounterParty protocol, from publishers to collectors and especially innovators. To kick off his duties, Duncan is asking for any and all leads for articles or authors to reach out at CounterPartyTalk.org and/or email him directly at the official account: [email protected]. He is now taking information from those interested in presenting information in the upcoming July 2021 newsletter or yet to be scheduled teleconference late next month. Updates about existing projects will be sought out and retold if not volunteered. Please contribute by sending a short synopsis and contact information for new projects or relevant information that should be included in the upcoming issue and or episode.

What is a SOG card?

There is definitely still room for XCP to grow to provide the "gold standard" for Bitcoin-backed NFTs.

do you mean this?

https://wallet.counterwallet.io/# seems to be offline for few days already. Is it just my connection.. or the site is indeed down? is it accessible for anyone else?

Who is the maintainer of that website? Someone is (or maybe better to say "was"?) paying for it for some reason.

What's interesting is the other domains attached to the IP are still up.

https://counterpartytalk.org/
https://counterparty.io/
https://counterwallet.io/

and most importantly

https://counterwallet.io/

where you can select other CounterWallet services. I don't vouch for the "EverdreamSoft" CW portal as I've never used it but if its on the official Counterparty website then its probably legit.

SOG was another playing/trading card game, Spells Of Genesis, that had limited number cards as counterparty tokens..
Similar to the rare Pepe cards, both were supposed to be online card games using provenly rare cards you could prove ownership of on the Bitcoin blockchain, and therefore prove the right to play them..

Maybe some of it will come back someday..
As far as I know it should all still work..

It got expensive for a while and then most was seemingly abandoned.. What a shame..

Why can't Counterparty evolve to use lightning channels somehow?  then there would no issue with fees, actions on DEX would be instant and there would be less unnecessary bloat and increased privacy with the DEX actions not being written into the blockchain.

I thought about this and it kind of removes the significance of something being recorded on the Bitcoin blockchain if its only actually recorded on LN. I think Blockstream Liquid allows for token creation, but again, its not really the same thing because there are no records of the transactions on the bitcoin blockchain, which is what makes it special in the first place.

Quite a nice jump today, am a bit sad my orders for XCP on the DEX never went through. I'm still rooting for XCP on the sidelines though.

Here is the article, hope you enjoy the read, reading the other guides at the top will make the rest easier to understand.

This is great. Does anyone have success converting their SOG cards to the ETH NFT marketplace and actually selling them there?Huh I have a super rare full Satoshi Card and I am wondering if the market for such a card can be revived???

If I wanted to part with that card,
I would contact t.me/wthauctionhouse to see if there is still time to submit if for the upcoming Live Auction in Sydney held during futureArt.io

Otherwise, they will probably add it to the queue for the upcoming auctions.
