Maybe the high transaction fees problem can be sidestepped by making a clone of Counterparty on a blockchain that uses the same address format as bitcoin so that for each bitcoin address that exact same address works on the other chain; and is merged-mined alongside bitcoin so has a very high difficulty albeit not as high as bitcoin's since not all bitcoin miners do merged mining.

I am thinking of DeVCoin, which admittedly is based on bitcoin code that by now is a little old, but should not be too hard to bring up to date if newfangled features of bitcoin are desired.

Counterparty could even be updated to be able to retain linkage to bitcoin's own blockchain by periodically doing bitcoin-chain counterparty transactions bring the bitcoin chain up to date with various transactions that have happened on the cheaper chain, to pin it all back to bitcoin's level of difficulty/security from time to time.

Quite a nice jump today, am a bit sad my orders for XCP on the DEX never went through. I'm still rooting for XCP on the sidelines though.

Here is the article, hope you enjoy the read, reading the other guides at the top will make the rest easier to understand.

This is great. Does anyone have success converting their SOG cards to the ETH NFT marketplace and actually selling them there?Huh I have a super rare full Satoshi Card and I am wondering if the market for such a card can be revived???

What is a SOG card?

There is definitely still room for XCP to grow to provide the "gold standard" for Bitcoin-backed NFTs.

anyone know what kind of news coming and push the price up now ?

Bro are you kidding? All you have to do is look at the posts on this page above yours.

If I wanted to part with that card,
I would contact t.me/wthauctionhouse to see if there is still time to submit if for the upcoming Live Auction in Sydney held during futureArt.io

Otherwise, they will probably add it to the queue for the upcoming auctions.

Hi all  - I am just writing up a guide on how to trade XCP NFTs on Ethereum & Matic (without them leaving the XCP Blockchain).

ist this possible too with the cards of

https://www.ageofchains.com/

https://www.ageofchains.com/gallery/

(on XCP chain)?

Any XCP NFT or currency can be traded - its really anything that sits on the Bitcoin address.

This is a NFT on Ethereum - https://emblem.finance/nft?id=822804
(https://etherscan.io/tx/0x48dee088293322303e844eb80cc8c99d8e31ad04d759c80bde3479da1fdeb814)

it holds the bitcoin/XCP address  (1JY9R9T4qBKUNgChgUWAc4B8o2u5NfdJfi) run that through xchain.io and see for yourself

Hi all  - I am just writing up a guide on how to trade XCP NFTs on Ethereum & Matic (without them leaving the XCP Blockchain).

This will enable those of you to access sites like Opensea & Rariable to sell your NFTs

It will also give you an opportunity to trade XCP itself on NFT platforms, giving you more pairings than you currently have at present.

This is not an attempt to scam anyone - please read the guide when released, hopefully later tonight (UK Time) DYOR and read it through first.

Indeed, sounds interesting. I've been reading about Ethereum/Matic and even Ethereum/WAX bridges, but they are for non-NFT assets. Making such a bridge specific to NFTs can assuredly be done in this day and age, and I look forward to seeing the results.

I've been trying to buy XCP from the Counterwallet exchange but alas, no success. I just have 2 orders open for a price currently being sold on the other side of the marketbook, which makes no sense. Ideally I'd like to buy about 100 @ 0.000052, which is slightly higher than market price (on the one exchange that still trades it).

I tried to buy 20 @ 0.00006 twice, and somebody was successful in between my two attempts, but it wasn't me. Anyway I'm gonna try it again when tx fees go down a bit...

Agreed with you that is an interesting idea to bring more exposure for this coin. I was fan of this platform but lack of marketing  and development put this under the radar I remember that golden time when it was in high demand. I hope this could help this to get recover so let's see how this idea will work.

FreeWallet.io has kept up with recent updates. I like to use the desktop version. It allows me to use my full private key and therefore a vanity address

Will counterparty dex be reanimated? I have some xcp tokens and cards which I cannot manage now as there is very difficult  without convenient wallet ..

I haven't used this wallet for ages but its a mobile wallet for Counterparty and served me well:

https://wallet.indiesquare.me/

All of the reviews since Oct 2018 say it has connection errors or won't load; perhaps its been deprecated.

There's a billion other coins and blockchains that allow for token creation and they are too boring to list by name. We know Counterparty is safe to use and allows you to build tokens on the Bitcoin blockchain. Yes, ideally the DEX should have more liquidity but the fact that you have to pay a transaction fee to create, fill or cancel an order (something otherwise free in centralized exchanges) renders it impractically expensive for normal trading. Nevertheless, I think it will last on for quite a while.

So what are the other options for creating a token? Counterparty was on BC so most secure. SLP is on BCH so technology a little improved. Things like Obyte are great but harder to implement on. What else is out there that can easily create a token (not ETH) that still has developers?
Eos? Tron? Binance chain or so?

Anyway I want to ask about  hopes for Counterparty? Will we get a convenient wallet allowing us to operate tokens?

Selling XCP.

If you put a fair ask on the Counterparty DEX (up to 0.000075 BTC) I will buy up to 0.01 BTC worth of XCP from you. It will also act as a test experiment to confirm the XCP/BTC trade pair still functions. I would put a Buy order up but I fear it would just sit there until expiry, unfilled, thus negating the point of paying a tx fee to create the order.

Energy coin master
I see that https://wallet.counterwallet.io/ is working again.
I was looking where XCP can be traded and marketcap gave me only one Japanese exchange.
What is the problem with this great coin?
1 It is an asset on de Bitcoin blockchain
2 Users can create new assets

For who is interested check: https://wallet.energywallet.eu/
Counterparty was an inspiration to create this on to of the Energycoin blockchain.
The only difference is that XEP was never distributed but the intention was to provide energy communities tokens that they can exchange on the platform for other energy communities tokens or fiat-based assets.
But I never found skilled people who are able to build the ecosystem.

Is counterparty dead? I just found out I have some lying around lol.

Selling XCP.

I would encourage you two to set up a dispenser.

is PhantomPhreak...
any other Counterparty developers still active

The original foundation disbanded over two years ago.
The last remaining dev did a major overhaul recently as mentioned in my hyperlinked comment above... there are many things going on in this community that are not on the surface level, let alone being talked about or marketed.
CIP 22 got funded, coded, tested and implemented, thanks to those involved: Monacoin community, Jdog, and Villar.

there are changes that have been in the works for the last year or so. PMs open if you are interested in getting involved
