Counterparty developers should start to do something innovative again, it seems they are sleeping in their laurels while in reality this project is just steps away from its obituary, with only one nearly impossible to sign up Japanese exchange with 50 ¢ volume a day. Pepecash was one of the main reasons XCP was sought after and the Counterparty exchange its still pretty decent but like XCP, the awesome Pepecash is also forgotten by the devs who bought their yachts and left its believers to scramble for a life vest.

In the words of xchain.io website:
I want to make a Token on Counterparty, so what is the best way to do that?

Tokenista, the explorer is not functioning because the whole system is undergoing massive upgrade which is nearly complete. After this time it will be possible to create a token using multiple different methods.

There's still no more better way to create a secure, immutable token than on Counterparty, is my opinion. I would recommend to Tokenista just creating tokens through the Counterwallet (after the update has concluded, of course).

Why create a token on Counterparty? It is backed by the most secure blockchain on the planet. The security of Counterparty tokens are insured by the equivalent of the crypto Lloyds of London. Newer, token-centric blockchains come and go but Bitcoin ain't going anywhere for a long, long time.

CIP 22 got funded, coded, tested and implemented, thanks to those involved: Monacoin community, Jdog, and Villar.

The main server is currently undergoing "full parse," which will last a few more days, most likely.

After this time it will be ideal to host your own node, if interested, right ffmad?

XCP will became the new bitcoin, I know personally the team and they are the best in this field! proud to be an investor

I like your confidence, but the new Bitcoin, really .. How can XCP even exist without the old Bitcoin?

IMO the real Bitcoin is Bitcoin cash, and I still don't know what's happening there, is anyone trying to fork counterpart to work with Bitcoin cash?

You, sir, are a brain-dead sheep that has been duped into thinking such fallacies. I hope you're joking.

The exact opposite, I did my own research and came to my own conclusion, I don't have a crystal ball but I have read the Satoshi whitepaper and it's quite obvious which version of Bitcoin is closer to the original vision. I own equal amounts of both so it makes no difference to me financially but I won't be surprised to see miners jump ship eventually and move hash to Bitcoin cash enough to make it the chain with the most accumulated PoW since the 2009 genesis block one day.

You are splitting into two again.. first you split into two with BSV, now you are splitting into two again..it is obvious that the ego's that run these coins all want to be the chief.. Who on earth is going to put serious money into blockchains that are run by egotistical megalamaiacs ie Roger Ver, Craig Wright, and now another one who wants to run the show... BTC is the only one to be taken seriously.

BTC or BUST
Bitcoin will never die.. ETH might..
ETH is also not immutable and nowhere near as secure long term.. Among many other things..

If one was serious about wanting tokens on a blockchain they would be using Bitcoin and not ETH imo..
If your most important aspect to you is transaction fees, then your project is not very serious or valuable..

Real estate deeds in a blockchain? Bitcoin.. shares of a trust or company that are worth more than a couple cents.. BTC..

I wouldn’t trust the ETH blockchain long term, like 10-20 years, like I would Bitcoin..

I haven't seen any potential and updates about this project, this project is like a sleeping old lady, haven't bought it yet because the high fees of using bitcoin transactions made me leave this project for a long time, but I come again now to see the latest news coming from the project this

Agreed with you it's hard to believe what happened with this project and now it is almost dead. No interesting project using this platform many of them already moved to other blockchain like ETH. In early days it was a great innovation but they failed to improve the capacity of this platform to keep providing the scalability solution and due to high transaction fees made this dead.
yes too many tokens from the counterparties moved to ETH, but the issue of GAS cost from ETH will also be a cause as well and make a lot of projects die, but I believe it can be solved on ETH 2.0, I just want to see one day in this thread, what is XRP this really is still alive

but I come again now to see the latest news coming from the project this

are there any news
and
are there active DEV's?

that's my question too, as long as there is an active dev the project will stay alive, but there is no recent news about this project

Cool oh not everyone I am excited. If litecoin is just a test net for bitcoin and they say it should be 0.25btc then judging by the total xcp supply from coingecko of 2649272 It should be priced around 7.92btc per xcp. Long and strong.

Uh... well that's one way to calculate it. Another would be to divide the total number of bitcoin sent to the Counterparty burn address (1CounterpartyXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXUWLpVr) by the total number of XCP, which would yield:

2130 / 2649272 = 0.000804 BTC per XCP, which is still 9x higher than its current price, roughly.

Xanthrax Limited Floppy Disk Edition

Quote
Xanthrax climbed his way to the top by ascending into the highest form of the Maitory, a Czar Hadir. He became a being which could ingest and produce venom, toxins and gases at will. It is rumoured that the extinction of the Olomy species was caused by Xanthrax alone as he created and released a nerve poison into the groundwater based on the Olomys DNA.

This physical edition of Xanthrax is strictly limited to 50 pieces only!

The Xanthrax Floppy Disk Edition comes with a holographic image of Xanthrax. The disk is sealed with a security sticker which has to be broken to run the floppy disk and access the associated private key containing the digital Xanthrax blockchain trading card as a PDF in the shape of a certificate, designed by a professional designer.

This crypto collectible trading card runs on the Bitcoin blockchain using the Counterparty protocol.

Buying this product directly supports the development of the Age of Chains trading card game.

I'm pretty sure the BTC on the Counterwallet DEX exchange is just a token with the name 'BTC' and not actual BTC.

Trading of BTC in the web UI version of Counterwallet was once possible but later it was disabled (github.com/CounterpartyXCP/counterwallet/issues/560). BTC/XCP trading wasn't as simple as trading XCP assets, basically because XCP has no power over BTC and someone thought it would be too confusing for users.

It is the actual BTC. Reading through the github report you can see that the change was never actually implemented. The reason why BTC trading was up for removal was because you must keep the Counterwallet browser open during the entire exchange process or the order won't properly settle and gets rejected or hung up. This is counter-intuitive to how things work on every major crypto exchange, so it was deemed to be "too confusing." Ultimately, though, the change was never made.

I haven't tried to do it myself in several years, but that is the real BTC listed in the BTC/XCP pair. The last trade was made on June 26th so its probably still possible. What's not real is the token named "Bitcoin."

I just noticed there are sell orders of XCP for BTC on the Counterwallet exchange, starting at 0.00009 BTC. Its actually cheaper there than on its one remaining exchange, Zaif. Not sure what you're gonna do with it. Transacting is hella expensive right now.

At least the devs keep the Counterwallet servers up (most of the time).
