is this website safe and recommended, sorry if I ask because there are so many fraudulent wallets scattered everywhere so I am worried about losing my money and funds in my wallet, thank you for replying to my message, success always for you

I have used it for quite sizable amounts (BTC and others) and have never lost my coins..
I have had smaller amounts of coins (BTC and others) sitting in these wallets for an entire year and they are still there..

I imagine it will also only be as safe and your laptop/device, passwords used, encryption used, etc..
I also always make small test transactions, and triple check my addys..

I also vouch for the FreeWallet. Its a fantastic and highly-secure wallet. Works as a simple Bitcoin wallet just as good as any other, as well.

sometimes the counterwallet cannot be accessed, is there any other site to access this counterparty wallet, I want to see my old wallet but can't access it because the website is always under maintenance, hope there are friends who share this information

Don't forget, when this Eth "Merge" hype ends and POS isn't very promising without all the leveraged platforms and VC loans, XCP will have a very promising use of its own that it will do on a better blockchain and network than "ETH" ever has:

https://counterparty.io/docs/faq-smartcontracts/
Is there currently development going on somewhere? I would be interested to follow the code progression, as I'm interested in the concept of turing complete smart contracts on the BTC chain.

They mention the following in the FAQ:

Quote from: Counterparty FAQ
A new proposal is being built for a specific Counterparty VM.

I however don't know when this part was added to the FAQ site, and if it's also outdated.

Another concept I'm interested on is Picopayments - which would be Counterparty tokens on Lightning:

https://github.com/CounterpartyXCP/picopayments-hub

But it seems to have been abandoned in 2017, albeit there are a few forks (this one seems however be the only one which has some own commits ...). Anyone has an idea if there is someone working on this still? Just because of the fee issue some of you mentioned this would be very useful, although of course there's also OmniBOLT in this niche.

Very cool to see Nili Lerner of NILIcoins getting some exposure for her 2014 Counterparty tokens... This was assuredly one of the first uses of token technology for artistic purposes.

Counterparty is currently the most alive its ever been, enjoying a "Historical NFT"-fueled renaissance. A shame this thread - which was the focal part of its community for years - is now so dead... This effect carries over forum-wide.

If you made old tokens back in the day and still have access to your Counterwallet, I'd like to see what you have as I may be interested in buying them. Feel free to send me a PM.

www.MarquiseMuseum.com

here is another abt/nft collection from 2017

https://xchain.io/asset/MARQUIMUSEUM

make what you will of it.

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.24268536

https://opensea.io/collection/vintageprovenance

the 66k xcp vault is the first of its type, patent 1800-14-04.

all the vintage nfts have 2021 or laters vaults, this one was deployed in opposite order with the vault first and nft conversion in 2021 because opensea and such did not exist in 2017 and the images are 10 000 pixels as opposed to low res alternatives from that time which was not practical for on chain migration.

there is 3m to 300m illiquid value here but i dont have any cash to pay b*****b for ieo partnership and this can only be monetized with top 30 deal have been sitting through the entire nft boom without any connections to move this asset.

bumpity bump bump. A thread about Devcoin making Counterparty OP_RETURN clean implemented and space saving code being in our 80 BYTE OP_RETURN since birth bc we MM with bitcoin. ICYDK (ref:https://github.com/devcoin/core/commit/cf3e03bad10368d96294769b740841919b636810 -- we just put this branch into our up and running Devcoin Core 22.x codebase.... Devcoin with everything Bitcoin Core 22.0.0 has plus our extensibility Wink and Counterparty as it was meant to be, cheaper txns, and not bottlenecked by Bitcoin Core devs slashing you out of the 0.9.x version -- F*ck Jeff Garzik! jk lol)...

Maybe the high transaction fees problem can be sidestepped by making a clone of Counterparty on a blockchain that uses the same address format as bitcoin so that for each bitcoin address that exact same address works on the other chain; and is merged-mined alongside bitcoin so has a very high difficulty albeit not as high as bitcoin's since not all bitcoin miners do merged mining.

I am thinking of DeVCoin, which admittedly is based on bitcoin code that by now is a little old, but should not be too hard to bring up to date if newfangled features of bitcoin are desired.

Counterparty could even be updated to be able to retain linkage to bitcoin's own blockchain by periodically doing bitcoin-chain counterparty transactions bring the bitcoin chain up to date with various transactions that have happened on the cheaper chain, to pin it all back to bitcoin's level of difficulty/security from time to time.

THIS.

Still needs to happen. Big win for CP users. You can use DVC chain like an EVM L2 Rollup but on Bitcoin.

Counterparty is back thriving with active devs again and a lot of action..
More $ volume than I can ever remember happening..

I hope that Counterparty will get back on its feet. I think it has a good chance. Despite the years in which there was little development, the protocol has little competition in its field. And it would be cool to see NFT and other side projects on the Bitcoin chain. Tired of using ETH and SOL and all the others for such use cases.

+1 For Freewallet.io  (not to be confused with that shady eth freewallet).

You can also go for Counterwallet.io. I've been using it since I first heard about Counterparty in 2016 and invested a little. It's still a bit old-fashioned and cannot be compared to other wallets, but it does its job well. And you always have the latest version without having the need to constantly update.

Hi all  - I am just writing up a guide on how to trade XCP NFTs on Ethereum & Matic (without them leaving the XCP Blockchain).

This will enable those of you to access sites like Opensea & Rariable to sell your NFTs

It will also give you an opportunity to trade XCP itself on NFT platforms, giving you more pairings than you currently have at present.

This is not an attempt to scam anyone - please read the guide when released, hopefully later tonight (UK Time) DYOR and read it through first.

I knew I should have bought more PEPEs .........

+1 For Freewallet.io  (not to be confused with that shady eth freewallet).

I have been using XCP Counterparty's freewallet for 4+ years  i just found out today, the older version 0.9.9 (something like that) Does not auto update.

So i went to the counterparty website and updated to new version.  0.9.19  and there are many more features in the wallet and everything looks unlocked (so you dont need to hold Xchainpepe nft for example)

It appears by the sales, (good place to look here) https://xchain.io/
some forgotten projects are seeing a revival due to the NFT craze.

PS: where is the best place to buy and sell XCP?  I dont trust that "zaif" exchange (or whatever it is called)
So it seems the only safe way is via FreeWallet, correct?
