A bounty for a mining comparison website based off of YACoin posted here  https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/10000-yacoin-bounty-311379

If interested in adding to the bounty upfront, I'll include an address for transparency and legitimacy.

Could someone post comparative numbers on the amount of yac minable compared to XPM per day on the same cpu.

I mined yac at the start, I've got like 10k, but back then they were worth like 4BTC, and now....

Anyways I was considering switching back but wasn't sure which was more profitable.

At one point, someone paid 10,000 BTC's for a pizza  Wink    It's all about where YAC will be in the future.

Ofc...I still mine yac from time to time, but mainly collect PoS atm.

I think XPM is more profitable, but you can always dedicate a core to pos minting like I do.

Just wanted to let you guys know we're accepting YACoin!

For the first time ever a website has been created that makes buying collectible reserve notes with Bitcoin and all major altcoins fun and easy. And with our fast delivery time you’ll get your notes within 3 to 4 business days. Our notes are great for collecting, spending, or trading with friends!

http://www.coinbucks.net

Our uncirculated notes are great for converting your hashpower into “real world” items like fuel or food. During our beta phase we will be focusing on small denominations and limiting daily orders. This will give us a chance to adjust margins, fine-tune the payment system, and streamline our shipping process. Then as we grow we will increase these limits and begin adding more rare and valuable paper currency.

where to download the latest version of the minerd (cpu mining) or cgminer with scrypt-jane support?

is L3 cache size important?

The GPU miner for YACoin is here:
https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/annyac-yacminer-gpu-miner-for-yacoin-247782
A version that can work with other scrypt-jane coins as well is here:
https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.2946557

Latest CPU miner may be this one:
https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/yacoin-windows-7-x64-ssse3-and-avx-support-x86-miner-201027
However, when I try to use this CPU miner with a pool recently, I get "json_rpc_call failed" error. So, may be someone can enlighten us both.  Smiley

I've looked into mining primecoin a few times now.   It doesn't seem to be any different then any other coin - other then the fact that it is mining for 'prime numbers.'   It doesn't have POS, n-increase, or anything else 'new' that will help keep the coin stable.

If primecoin does offer something new, or I'm missing something, please let me know - other wise I don't think the coin would have been very successful if it wasn't developed by an already known developer; Sunny King.  He's great at keeping up in the forums, but I'm still waiting for a PPC wallet that I don't need to write a batch file to mint with.  I think the PPC community would agree it was a well developed coin, but updating/improving/maintaining PPC does not seem to be one of Sunny's strong points.

I guess that's why I'm addicted to YAC.  We have two super active developers and a crowd of active miners/investors/advocates.  There's a new improvement, bounty, or project almost every week. Smiley

Speaking of bounty.  I am willing to offer a bounty (10k YAC) for a site like coinchoose.com for YaCoin mining profitability, except it compares YaCoin to other coins as well as just the YaCoin clones.  Any thoughts?

What reason could you possibly have for wanting that? YAC is consistently profitable due to the ABSENCE of that shit.

Oh yea? So you want all the bitcoin miners to stop mining bitcoin, so you can profit short-term?

You proved my point...

The NFactor changes destroy early investors by making it easier to mine overall (more coins for same hardware).  People aren't joining for the higher reward fast enough, and it needs to be better advertised.

Has anyone been able to compile the windows client with boost_1_54_0?  I've been having issues with getting it to run stable and I believe this may be the issue.

Sorry, can't say I have, but I have compiled yacoind with boost_1_53_0 under MinGW, but I'll be darned if I can figure out their versioning...
1.5.3 is 1.45.0?  (this might be what I'm using, or am I using Boost 1.53?)
1.5.4 is 1.46.1 - is this the one you're asking about or is it 1.5.9 which is Boost 1.54?

yay for version numbers and all, but like the man with two watches who is never sure what time it is, I'll never know what version I'm on Tongue

A whole site might be asked to much, but if some can calculate these infos for YAC they sure would love to copy/past them. If they don't want to do that someone could simply paste their infos and add YAC to the list.

Why do you want to promote the YACurrency clones aswell? If they want to get there they should have to do the work themselves ...  Roll Eyes

Make an adress with your 10kYAC and post it here on the forum. If people trust you and want to support your bounty I think we could raise more money for this. If someone takes the time to work on a bounty he shouldn't have to search the forum for hints where to get the promised coins.

I think this will revive YAC mining and make it a scalable venture:

http://shop.adapteva.com/collections/featured-products/products/parallella-cluster-kit

we just need to wait for it to come out and port mining software to it, i think this is the answer.

Many are thinking of mining primecoins with it...what kind of memory does that use/have?

1GB DDR3 SDRAM according to this http://www.parallella.org/board/ diagram, however new version which will follow will surely have more. Cant find more info on mem other then that.

Now, if you could add more ram at will...then I think it might stand a chance.
